A Test-your-luck Killer Concept: The Gambler

A killer that can randomly obtain other killers' powers.

Power: Power Slot

A slot machine is placed on top of every generator. They're all switched on at the start of the match and you can use (play) a machine to get a random Power Item, after which the machine will be switched off. It'll automatically switched on again after 2 minutes.

Alternatively, an off machine will be switched on when any survivor works on the gen below it. Playing a machine on top of a worked gen will also kick the gen (and count as kicking the gen for perks interaction).

You can only carry one Power Item at a time; playing a machine while carrying an Item will automatically replace it with the new Item.

The Power Items are single-use versions of other killers' powers:

Trapper: a trap; can't be re-collected, only 3 can exist at any one time, setting a 4th one will erase the oldest one

Wraith: you get to cloak and uncloak once

Hillbilly/Bubba: you get to chainsaw sprint/dash once

Nurse: you get to blink once

Hag: a trap, you can teleport to it just like Hag; only 3 can exist at any one time, setting a 4th one will erase the oldest one

Doctor: one static blast; no madness

Huntress/Deathslinger: one shot

Clown: one bottle

Spirit: you get to phase walk once (5 seconds)

Legion: you get to feral frenzy once (10 seconds)

Trickster: you get 15 blades, but you can pnly enter throw state once; exiting throw state will automatically discard all remaining blades

Nemesis: one tentacle strike (mutation rate 2), no contamination

(Ofc some killer powers can't be readily converted to a single-use version, hence why they aren't all here.)

Unique Power Items (not based on other killer powers):

A die: roll a number from 1 to 6, and based on that number, off slot machines will be randomly switched on (e.g. if you roll 3, three random off machines will be switched on, and so on)

A deck of cards: draw a random card (spade, heart, club, diamond), and based on this, reveal the aura of and expose a survivor for 15 seconds based on their name order on the killer's screen (spade = top-most survivor, heart = mid top, club = mid bottom, diamond = bottom-most). Ofc if that survivor is already dead, this'll do nothing.

A coin: can only be used in a chase. Flip a coin; if head you gain a 5% Haste for 10 seconds, if tail you get stunned (like a pallet stun) and lose sight of scratch mark/blood pool for 10 seconds.

Add-ons:

Add-ons to shorten the time needed for off machines to be switched on.

Add-ons to shorten the animation time of playing a machine.

Add-ons that give you multiple copies of a Power Item everytime you play.

CCTV camera: The first time you play a slot machine will always give one of the following Power Items: Trapper, Hag, Doctor, or a deck of card. This effect is then repeated every 3 plays (so the forth, seventh, and so on).

Brass knuckle: The second time you play a slot machine will always give one of the following Power Items: Wraith, Hillbilly, Bubba, Nurse, Spirit, Legion, Nemesis, or a coin. This effect is then repeated every 3 plays (so the fifth, eighth, and so on).

Empty gun: The third time you play a slot machine will always give one of the following Power Items: Huntress, Deadslinger, Clown, Trickster, or a die. This effect is then repeated every 3 plays (so the sixth, ninth, and so on).

Blacklist: Everytime you play a slot machine, block the generator underneath it for 20 seconds. Have a cooldown of 20 seconds.

Generator switch: Switch on all slot machines after hooking a survivor.

Double-headed coin: Always get head when flipping a coin.

Namecard: limit the slot machine pool to just one of the 3 unique Power Items (A die, a deck of cards, a coin).

Jackpot sign: Get a 5% Haste for 3 seconds everytime you play a slot machine.

    Perks:

Dishonor on Your Family: After kicking a gen, reveal the aura of the survivor farthest from you and the aura of any survivor that's within 10 metres from them for 10/12/15 seconds. Has a cooldown of 60 seconds.

The House Always Wins: Get a token everytime you get stunned. After obtaining 5/4/3 tokens, automatically consume all tokens to block all windows, pallets, and gens within your terror radius for 20 seconds.

Scourge Hook: Sin City: Each time a survivor is hooked on a scourge hook, transfer your terror radius to that survivor as long as they're hooked, and for 6/7/8 seconds after they're unhooked. You're granted Undetectable during this period.

Seems a bit weird, You have to go to a gen that is being worked on, instead of chasing survivor, you then have to play the slot machine and hope you get something that will make up for the time you waste there. Not only that, you are a m1 powerless killer when traveling between gens if you fail to capitalize on the random power you get.

I imagine this Killer being really bad, the concept basically is too open to be balanced, imagine getting bad RNG or Powers you are bad at using all game vs getting good RNG and powers you are great at using all game. Its a game design/balance nightmare.

I agree. As the title suggests, it's balanced on luck. I just thought it'll be fun to watch those skilled streamers play this killer (that's where the idea started).

Anyway, I've expanded the add-ons section with things that might allow this killer to be played more systematically. The way I see it, if you can get some traps first to set up a territory, then you can use other killer powers to defend it (basically giving yourself a better, but RNG-reliant Trapper).

Uh......... No.... No, no, and again, no. This killer would make zero sense, each killer got their powers threw some sort of backstory. For a killer just to randomly get one of those powers is crazy, plus, how do you even get a tentacle out of a slot machine? Plus, Nemesis is a licensed character and this killer isn't licensed, so Behavior would be giving out Nemesis's power for something you can buy for free with iridescent shards. Different and unique killers exist for a reason.

I get what the gimmick is but there's a reason why any killer with a luck based element is considered worse than the non-luck based ones. This would be a funny april fools gag and instantly be unplayable outside of it.
