Trapper should have Trapper-Sack addon in his base kit. Period.
Why is the Trapper the only killer that has to travel a marathon distance and waste so much precious time on walking before even getting access to his power?
This makes him god-awful in the current meta. By the time you collected and set up 2 traps, you already lost 2 or 3 generators. If you would set up all traps, the game is over by then. But you NEED most of the traps or else you are playing a glorified M1 killer.
Even if the Trapper would start the trial with all traps in his bag, he would still be a mediocre killer but it would make him less terrible because you know, now you can actually spend time on playing the game and chasing survivors or pressuring gens rather than "Find and collect traps Simulator"

I don't think he should start with all traps, but I do think they could maybe reduce the spread of the traps lying on the ground across the map. Make them all spawn in the middle 50-75%. It is absurd that some traps on the swamp maps can spawn in the far far corner and never get used.

He shouldn't start with all of his traps, that'd make it too easy to cheese certain areas. However, you're right that having to travel all the way across the map to gather all of your power hurts him unnecessarily.
The correct compromise here is to adjust how far away from him his traps spawn. Have them only be on the same side of the map as him, not in a distant corner he'll never want to go to.

If his traps are going to spawn some distance away, they should at least be useful, i.e. spawn next to a gen or at pallets, and be set already!

Have him get all his traps, put in place an escalating cooldown that is removed by walking so if he tries to cheese one spot, it takes forever.

What about these traps spawned outside of maps?

I'd rather have Iridescent Stone as base kit. It'd probably push him up to B tier. Trapper would be a lot more viable then.

He should start with all his traps and should be able to pick them up as well. Trapper is arguably the most outdated and power-crept killer in the game. Not only does he have to waste so much time to even be able to set his power up - time he really doesn’t have to spare - but there’s no guarantee it will do anything in the first place, and can be countered too easily in too many ways.

Hag and Freddy also start the trial with all of their traps, and they are one of the least played killers. Sure the Trapper could cheese a powerful juking spot more easily then but come on man, he's got nothing else going for him. He has no mobility at all and his power is no match to the top killers.
This hits the nail on the head imo. It's sad to see that THE original DbD killer -the first ever made by BHVR- seems to be stuck in this super outdated 2016 design mentality. Imagine if a Blight would start the trial with only 2 charges and then has to walk across the map to collect syringes.... you can apply this concept to any other killer as well. lol
