Mercy.
So, I'm curious about how you feel about showing mercy on a survivor or two if their teammates have unfairly dc'd but you can see these players that stuck around are still trying their best to play the game like it's supposed to be played. I'm not talking about letting them farm or anything like that, but allowing them to complete whatever gens need to be completed and letting them high tail it out of there. Or smacking them and taking them to the hatch.

Hell yeah, I'd do it.
I might chase them, and injure/slug (not all of them) to maybe make things interesting and get more points all around, but in the end, I'm likely to just let them go.
Of course that can change if they want to be a dick.

I for one am a very merciful killer. I don't really care about pipping, and I honestly want to stay low just to get good practice in on all of the killers. So in order to avoid double pips, I usually spare a survivor or two. I usually main Huntress so the longer survivors are in the trial the more hatchet practice I can get.
As for the "game ethics" of a killer that isn't necessarily killing 24/7 I just refer to the quote "I don't want to kill you. I just want to hurt you, a lot." If a game goes by too quickly and everyone just gets stomped then there's no real time for tension/fear to build. So I find that I can defend my mercy by stating that I'm trying to add some tension, give folks a little hope and then tear it to pieces.
Or you know, I could hide in the herd of killers that give up the hatch freely.

Providing they continue to play as normal I will usually give the last one the hatch.

Mine is dependant on situation.
If it's a 3 man i will usually let one go.
If one DC's i will likely do the same.
But if you loop with flashlight spam, hook block you guys are all dying if i get my hands on you.

No mercy, there will be blood!0

I set them all free0

I always let farm the remaining survivor in case of a DC/RQ/3 vs 1. I only remember killing at least 3 of them once and then let a Claudette escape, simply because they had a real liking for the CTRL button after I missed a blink.

I let it get to end game hook and slug along the way, and if I kill them all or some or all escape it's cool as long as it was fun and blood points that's all that matters to me.

When there's more than one DC or a DC when everyone loaded in, I'll often go easier on the survivors. Leave them on the group if they're on their last hook, etc. Depends on my mood and how long they're taking, though. If there's one afking in the corner with crows, I'm taking them out of the game.
