What's wrong with MMR in this game?
I'm new player and have only 250 hours in the game. I liked the Artist and I played almost all the games only on him, as well as on Spirit and Blight. The games were fun, I didn't feel stressed. But in the last two weeks, I seem to have realized that this game has big problems. Absolutely every game I have to play is like the last game of my life. The game forces me to tunnel someone from the start of the game and camp the second stage if I want to win. I don't see weak players anymore. Searching for a game in the early afternoon sometimes takes 10 minutes. And I always see the same faces who have 5-6k hours of game experience. If I am not tunneling/camping then the best result would be -1. And I stopped feeling satisfied when I do -4 considering they are good survivors, I'm not happy with that. Because it's a lot of stress and I don't get anything for it (only angry comments from survivors) You don't get any rewards for playing well. Why is it impossible to increase the bloodpoint cap in each category to at least 16000? Survivors repair gens so fast and any mistake makes you tilt. When there were test days, sometimes there were fun games, but they were in the minority. When I started playing, I watched a lot of streams and immediately realized that m1 killers were patient. I can't even imagine what it's like to play at medium-high mmr on many m1 killers. In most games, this will be a couple of hooks. Respect to people who try to play weak killers on high mmr
And what doing if you want to have fun? Intentionally losing to lower your mmr? Why is there such a serious matchmaking in this game. I fell in love with this game. But I seem to be in doubt. I don't want to press the search for the game again. Because everything will be the same. A survivor who understands the route perfectly, a boon on the 2nd floor or in the corner of the map, 4 meta perks, often voice communication and body blocking at the perfect moment when the survivor does not have time running to a safe place

The game doesnt force anyone to tunnel. Its your own choice to play like this cause you dont recognize your own lack of skill.

'eh, the hit and run playstyle is dead as soon as it is a bigger map and they have a boon. So basically every game. I was scared of flashlights in the past, now it's medkits. When they heal in 10 seconds you kind of need to tunnel. I often rather loose than tunnel but if i don't i know it will most likely be a loose.

The problem is the lack of killers. The SBMM system prioritizes queue times over “fair” matchmaking. Most of the time there aren’t enough killer players to make a “fair” match without making survivors wait forever, so even if you have a low MMR score you’ll get matched against multi-thousand-hour pros.
As for the reasons there aren’t enough killer players, just read through the list of forum comments on any given day. Broken maps, boons, senseless nerfs of low-tier killers, etc.

Except they specifically mentioned that they wait sometimes 10 minutes for a match? Wouldn't that say there is a lack of low-mid MMR survivors instead of it being a lack of killers issue?

The OP must play in a different region than I do. I’ve never waited more than a minute for a killer match, regardless of time of day. Most of the times it’s nearly instant. I play in US eastern time zone. If the OP waits for 10 minutes for a match as killer, you’re right it would indicate a lack of survivor players during that time of day so it’s matching with the next available survivor group regardless of MMR.

The worst thing BHVR ever did was decide to push an MMR system with literally zero transparency. Players of all skill levels are frustrated for one reason or another and we have no way of knowing why the games are frustrating. We can't give specific feedback to help them improve the system when we don't know what happened with the matchmaking. It's wild arrogance.
You have nothing to lose by being transparent with a functioning system.

You're not forced to tunnel and camp
You don't get any rewards for playing well.
Exactly so why sweat for the win?
Why camp and tunnel for the win?
play how you want, but remember to try to practice different mind games ways to better yourself instead of camping and tunneling.
Play for fun instead of taking this game so seriously that you have to 4K to win. You'll see that you will play a lot better.

Have you cross play turned off?

I've always played like this. But now all games are the same. I don't meet weak players. The question was why there is serious matchmaking in such a game. I agree that there is no need to always take care of -4. The balance of the game is when two survivors escape. To reinforce the idea. I would like to say, do not repeat my mistake and do not play only on one killer. If you are serious about the game, it will be very difficult.

Cross play is included ofc

Well me personally they should of kept the old ranking system and just removed the safety pip, but they changed it to the way it is now.
So you either play for fun and get more chilled matches or play serious and get tougher matches.
That's just the way it is (something about hockey)

Are the matchmaking tests still running? Solo Q is unplayable, I know it wasn’t great to begin with but it’s never been this bad before, it’s usual bearable haha
