Can we just hide the grades permanently?
Honestly no one really cares what your opponents grades are as they have nothing to do with MMR, so I don’t see a reason why we should see them postgame IMO.

I'd rather just see mmr or something like overwatchs season rank.

Yeah hopefully they leave it out.
instead use the characters portraits there (or just leave it like it is now)

Well, people do care. They shouldn't, is the thing. Character portraits are far superior, but this will do for now.

I disagree that it has nothing to do with MMR. I would bet money that there is at least some correlation between grade and MMR. Especially when you see players at red rank 1 like only a week after grade reset. These guys are playing like 12 hours a day, so they’re probably pretty good. It’s true that there will be outliers. The most likely outliers are players who are good but haven’t played in a while, so their grade will be far lower than their skill level would indicate.

If it doesnt matter if you see the grade or not why even asking to remove it? Makes no sense.
1 -
Ooh good idea. Character portraits would be much more useful to find out who was who without needing to pull up the menu.

Devs claimed if you saw mmr, people would find a way to cheese it. . . somehow. Even though they're doing nothing about the hacking situation which makes the whole mmr system defunct.
3 -
because people just use a higher grade then them as an excuse why they got destroyed and then come on here and make pointless posts that dont even make sense because grades dont even mean anything

Not really, I have a friend who got rank 1 on day 3 after the reset, but he's absolutely horrendous at the game. He might escape about 50% of his games, but his average chase is 20 seconds, his longest chase was 50 seconds against a killer who wanted to get 3 PWYF stacks before downing him. He plays a lot of DBD, knows what secondary actions give him a lot of emblem points(like, consistently doing 2 totems and 2 gens per match, rescuing and healing 2 teammates, that's often already enough for 1 pip).
In fact, the people who are really good actually have started playing less in my experience. I tend to have much easier games against full red rank teams than teams that have 1-2 silver or gold players. When I play survivor, my rank rarely reaches red rank anymore, but I am by far the strongest player in my group of friends.

I’m sure there are outliers like your friend, but based on my experience as killer, the survivors with higher grades tend to be much better and looping and have much better map knowledge. My previous comments were a broad generalization about the entire population of players, but with any data set there will be outliers.

Because there are a ton of people who see gaps in grades and post about how matchmaking is broken when grades aren’t even used for matchmaking in the first place and are only loosely correlated with it. I wouldn’t mind seeing a rough MMR bracket indicator, but no indicator either way is preferable to a misleading one.

Please!
I've said this a bunch - Hide 'em...
They currently serve no other purpose than for people to either flex, pass blame, or make excuses.
2 -
I agree, permanently shield them. It just results in people getting confused and complaining about the quality of matches.

This isnt an issue of grades, its an issue of misinformation / information lack of players. Also even if grades arent used for matchmaking theyre a factor in guessing someones skill. If there was a bad mate i can somehow take a guess afterwards if he was really just bad (high grade) or maybe just inexperienced (low grade). it doesnt work always but its better to know for someone own sanity.

Can someone clarify for a stupid person like me, is hiding the grades intentional or is it a bug that's happening right now? Haven't kept up to date with the socials and I thought it'd be better to find the answer here. Thanks

The grades are currently being hidden in today’s matchmaking test.
1 -
Does it make anymore sense to keep it in here if it is useless?
0 -
There are so many salty people because they used their grade as a way to show off their skill 🤣lol
Yes keep them gone, let the game become healthy again.

Ranks are a fun aspect of the game and score, hiding it kills any motivation to rank up. So I might even play less in that case. Which is good? I don't know.
2 -
I don’t understand this rationale at all. You’d rather have no information at all rather than loosely correlated information? Loosely correlated information is still better than nothing.

The grades being there is pointless. We should've just had peoples mmr/ranks next to their name from the very beginning.
For some reason they were worried about "elitism" when literally no other game does that.
3 -
For real. Its like like shoving all the garbage under your bed and going like "it's clean".
2 -
If MMR is truely here to stay then it's probably for the best
I see many new players not understanding that grades have nothing to do with matchmaking, which is mainly because there's no in game explanation for matchmaking as far as I'm aware. Removing the grades would def help clear up that confusion I think

I would not mind only seeing someone's devotion. Time served haha

There is so much misinformation thrown around in this community. Grades never equaled skill, and that's how they have been treated. People would post dozens of threads that they a Bronze/Silver grade got matched against Gold/Iri grades. It's just dumb, like maybe they lost because they don't even know enough about the basics to know that Grade does not equal skill, doesn't affect matchmaking, and doesn't affect mmr.

Just let me see how many hours all of my teammates have

Tonight was probably the worst matchmaking I have seen. Survivor was a slaughter, and killer was a slaughter as well. I feel like they just turned the matchmaking off almost entirely. Pretty miserable as survivor but killer was such a stomp it was almost boring. Weird builds and new players with green perks all around.

Remove grades and replace with mmr number.
2 -
I disagree, unreliable information is worse than no information in this case.

I prefer my portraits to an even more empty feeling casual game with mmr
0 -
It doesnt bother me. I can tell when I'm matched with people more skilled or less skilled than I without having to even see their grades. So whether the grades remain or go, doesn't matter to me. At this point I feel like they're little more than a personal achievement since they're separate to MMR.

Hiding grades entirely renders the whole grading system pointless. If MMR doesnt take grades into account the ONLY reason they are there is to give you an idea of how much players have played this month. Yeah a lot of players complain about "unbalanced" matches if grades are all over the place but those sort of players quite frankly need to get over themself. I like to see the grades so i can understand why i either destroyed or got destroyed by a group of survivors. As an average killer main if i get destroyed and i see a bunch of red grades i just put it down to they are clearly better as they play more. If i destroy survivors and they are all a lot lower grade than me i just put it down to the oposite.
I would love the grades to be replaced with something that shows the "MMR" level of players but that won't ever happen due to the fact that SBMM doesnt actually work due to the fact this is a asymetrical game and any SBMM system won't work most of the time unless you want to sit in queue for 4 hours whilst more of your exact skill log in.
