Please BHVR take toxicity more seriously
So, I´ve been playing for some time already, around 200 hours, and i´ve got to say that i had enough, i´m struggling with anxiety and depression, i´m taking antidepressants and going to therapy, and whenever i decide to jump in the game and have some fun playing as killer it´s always the same, i play a few games, some tryhard toxic swfs play their game and have fun being horrible persons towards the killers and it´s not easy honestly, they don´t care about the game at all, they just want to use the killer as their toy and have a few laughs making other players miserable and it´s not something that i think i can take anymore, i think BHVR should balance a lot of things and probably increase the punishment on toxic people, i would love for a queue without SWF, like a ranked, casual mode where the survs aren´t all a bully party, i thin it would make the game something quite more enjoyable to everyone, to the solo q survs that get insulted by their teammates and the killers, in the end we are all here to have fun and it´s sad to see such a good game like DBD feeling so miserable to play because of people like that, i´ll take a few weeks to help my mental health but as i said, this can´t keep going on for much longer, just check other discussions in the forums and you´ll see that im not alone in this.

Besides taking endgame chat abuse more seriously what can they do? People will always find a way to taunt or bully the killer in game not matter what they remove or change

It would be nice if they took a less...lax policy in regards to toxicity
11 -
I think they could track things like the tbag, find how many times did they press the CTRL key and how fast, the lantern click, that kind of stuff is done in other games, they could also implement something like that, or create like a video of the game where the mods can watch and check for that stuff, and yet they could increase the punishments of endgame chat anyways

Or how many times a killer hits a hooked survivor, or left survivors to bleed out the entire four minutes of the dying state just because… or does that not fit your narrative?
Also, don’t be playing this game given your self-described conditions above. Like, at all, either role. Please, for your own sake.

This would require them to do actual work that isn't centered around MTX. We don't even have match history. They are just too lazy.

Chat is the only toxic thing in this game if you can't handle what happens during the trial then don't play , we shouldn't have to make a bunch of rules to accommodate you because you can't handle a bunch of pixels humping the ground on your computer screen

I'm afraid what Bhvr is most likely to do to fix the chat toxicity is to make it exactly like dbd mobile's: you can only use stickers or predefined messages such as "GG". I'm not a huge fan of that, but I won't be against it if that helps.

I agree. Just the other day I gave a kill to a legion who was struggling. He gave up so I decided to stay behind to die by end game collapse.
In end chat he told me to "go hang from a tree".
I'd be ok with this tbh.

Obviously they do..with that T-bag nerf in the PTB.. Never thought they'd go that far. xD

Why should you play nice? It's a game it's not like you're doing anything wrong, I learned along time ago no matter how nice you are these people will still talk trash and be trash, people should just play for their own personal enjoyment because these salty people didn't pay for their game, and if people don't enjoy the game and get offended wouldn't you agree it's better for them to just move on to a different game rather than subject themselves to what they consider torture?
2 -
Yes and no. Yes you can do whatever you want and it's also not illegal to be an #########. However, it's not because some people act as such that I would encourage others to behave poorly
Edited to clarify.

Mm.
There was a time when it used to get to me too. But somewhere around the 600 hour mark, I sort of became numb to it and now I just shake my head and move onto the next game.
Unfortunately the devs have been pretty clear. They consider 'smack talk' not only to be inevitable, but to be an essential part of online gaming and won't do anything unless it rises to the level of serious hatespeech or threats (and even then, temp bans).
I happen to disagree with this stance and think that it's only setting the stage for misery - but it's not my game.
I'm actually keeping track of this myself for my current experiment. One month as a survivor main versus one month as a killer main.
Thus far as a survivor main, I've had a 'toxic' killer in maybe 26 games in my last 170, and that's counting anything that could be construed as toxic (hitting on hook, bleeding out etc). On the other hand, I don't think I've seen a single winning game where another survivor doesn't hang around in the gates to teabag and gloat.
Not one.
Teabagging...whatever. It's annoying, but difficult to remove.
Flashlight macros need to go.

They just nerfed t-bagging in the ptb jsyk. The animation from standing to crouching is so much slower that it makes quick t-bagging impossible.

this is funny.
however, i'd trade it for killing off the flashlight macro's
3 -
Right there with you. They should hit that next. It is beyond annoying. It's the equivalent of someone smacking food in your ear...

Since flashlight macro can cause seizures I 100% agree. Doesn’t annoy me personally but more accessibility is always good.

It´s not about not being able to handle what happens in the game, it´s the fact for example that you chase someone for like 2 pallets for example, then suddenly all the gens pop at once and then they start to harass you in the endgame chat, i decided to keep the post a bit shorter than i´d like to, but it´s not like it´s just a single thing, the fact for example that all the games end up the killer struggling to get even a single hook before 3 gens pop because all the super meta builds and tryhard survs, it´s the fact that you don´t see many people just playing new builds or trying stuff, it´s the same tiring thing over and over and over, and i´m not like Iri 1 or anything, but i think that the ``competitive´´ part of the game is completely out of control, like people wishing me death and stuff like that because i run a single perk like bbq just because i get more points after the game and they say it´s super op but then you see then using BT, DS, PT, UB, SC, and all the actual meta perks that make the game far more survivor sided and yet you are the bad guy for some reason, in the end it´s 4 vs 1 in the chat after the game
0 -
Also i´d like to add that before it wasn´t like that and i love to give hatch for example when a surv is good at looping or goes for a save even if it ends up in that surv getting hooked, i played against ttvs and ended up chilling with them in their chat and keeping the game as wholesome as i could, but it´s like giving someone a thumbs up and getting punched in the face in return
1 -
Apparently that's just a bug.
0 -
And here I thought they were going above and beyond. Fail...
1 -
Mm. If they were going to make a toxicity oriented fix, they'd probably start with flashlight macros as these can actually cause players discomfort IRL, especially us folks with photosensitivity issues.

i would recommend finding another game. this isn't one that should be played if you're particularly stressed or struggling with mental health, there are a lot of people who play to irritate others and there's just not a lot that can be done about it unfortunately.
1 -
Devs prefer to have a game thats built around being "toxic" esp as killer. Survivor dont really have anything to be toxic as long as they arent far better than the killer player, which is often misinterpretated as being toxic.
0 -
These "toxic" plays, as you call them, are the best for me. If the survivor team is out to try to bully the killer, they are not doing gens.
The fun part is that they always forget the killer has a counter or two for their tactic.
I still laugh when I remember these Boil-Over/Breakout/Flipflop teams who DCed when they realized I was simply letting them bleed out. The "no" one of them did with his body when he realized followed by my emphatic "yes" and his DC ... good times xD.
I draw the line at (self-)harm comments in the end game chat.
1 -
Are we still getting upset by t-bagging? Literally the only community to do so.
2 -
'Upset' is a strong word.
'Annoyed' is more like it, especially in the exit gates.
It's the equivalent of refusing to shake your opponent's hand after the match, and instead giving them the finger. Yes, humans tend to be annoyed when other humans act like massive butts.
2 -
It's really not, I'm still unsure as to why this forum takes it as something so personal when I couldn't be more detached when doing it or having it done against me lol
2 -
Mm. You say 'detached'. I'd say 'numb'. And that's not a good thing.

I see survivors in match, I run up and t-bag, I see killer I t-bag, it literally means nothing, I have never been offended by t-bagging, in the 20 years I've played video games it's never been a "personal attack" on myself, or anyone I've done it to.
0 -
I only see this as children nagging. Not likely to annoy me.
If it happens during a match, I'm happy for the time they lost and try to take advantage of it.
If it happens at the doors ... well I wouldn't know. I usually take that time to break pallets and doors.

Im happy that im as a ps4 player i dont have a endgame chat they should maybe delete the endgame chat to help out or maybe an option to disable the chat and if they should add you private then dont answer or make youre profile on private
1 -
I think Tbag and *click click* doesn't need a "nerf", this is the smaller problem. The real situation is about the chat and the toxicity
0 -
Just hit the surv, Tbag and flashlights is a small problem comparing to the chat. Sometimes is bored, depending of how the killer is on that day, but it isn't difficult to become normal for you or you Just ignore it
1 -
What I tried to say with this post is just pretty simple, dont be stupid towards the people who plays the game, you don´t know what the other person is going through, and if you are still being toxic towards people who plays the game just because they aren´t as good as you oh your lord majesty, just maybe you shouldn´t play any online games, you have to remember behind that character there is a living person, and you wouldn´t do that in their face so don´t do it behind the screen.
1 -
It'd be great if they even said they like good sportsmanship instead of encouraging toxicity.
0 -
Teabags don't really bother me, but that's because I'm mostly numb to it.
Flashlight clicking can legitimately make me uncomfortable IRL, thanks to photosensitivity issues stemming from a serious concussion a few years back. It's a combination of the noise and the rapid strobing.
This really needs to go away.

My only issues are the flash light macro, i dont have epilepsy but after a while it really start hurting my eyes, not to mention the sounds gets really obnoxious. The other one is the wishing death/threats, there should be a nontolerance policy on those and be insta flag for a ban.
On a another note, OP the game is clearly getting to you and I recommend taking a break.
no that just cannot work, if you play a ranged killer you will get "tbagged" a lot against nervous players or players that are trying to guess.
0 -
Best thing you can do is just turn off endgame chat / block messages from outside of friends list. You will literally never have to deal with any BS and can play how you like.
As far as torch clicking and stuff goes you basically just become numb to it after a while and can even use it to your advantage. Most clickers want to be chased and will spend time trying to get your attention rather than doing gens. Ignore them and tunnel their weakest team mate out the game and eventually you'll catch them mid to end game if you're controlling the game.
They could however add a some RNG element to clicking by making the bulb break after 3-5 clicks in a short time period. If the bulb breaks the survivor loses the item regardless if they escape. That would be enough of a deterrent I think to tone it down.

Ok, in this case, flashlights needs a "nerf"
0 -
End game chat is the only thing toxic in this game nobody should get banned for BM in the match that's just ridiculous is all I'm saying
0 -
GG only appears as a choice if you win I take it. lol
Otherwise it be silence or abuse so wonder what stickers there will be for that.
0 -
Honestly, if the game is upsetting you this easily, I would highly recommend not playing it for the sake of your mental health. T-bagging and all the other “toxic” things you mentioned are part of normal gameplay. The only real toxicity comes from the endgame chat and you can turn it off.
