Rework Decisive Strike (DS)?
DS can be improved? I've a riflession about it:
The target of DS perk is to counter tunneling right?
The tunneling is usefull expecially at the beginning of the game, to remove 1 survivor as soon as possible, right?
The DS at the end of the game (when there are 1-2 surv alive) some times is annoying, because the killer leave the survivor in dying state and no one can help him, right?
If killer want tunneling, usually DS is not enough... The most of the times the killer hook the surv also after DS and tunnel him, right?
So, what if: DS stun for 7 sec, and the survivor doesn't drop blood or scratch marks for the same time, and DS is deactivated if there are only 2 or 1 survivor alive?

Yeah, um, no thanks. It doesn't need buffed...

do bones
ds is fine as it is, no changes needed
6 -
Decisive Strike is fine, it doesn't need any further changes
10 -
No I’d rather keep my DS during the entire match.

I'm fine with the current ds. I don't think adding 2 seconds of stun would change anything; if the killer wants you, he'll get you.
4 -
I think healing shouldn’t deactivate DS. I think the nerf was a smidge too much. Doing gens and bones without consequences makes a lot of sense. Healing less so.
4 -
they change they should make is implement ds as basekit lol
1 -
Agreed. I think self healing shouldn't deactivate it. In exchange I think it should deactivate once you're fully healed.
3 -
If you are healing, you’re not being tunneled. Or you’re healing and the killer simply found you again, which is not tunneling. You are trying to undo their progress, they are stopping it.
3 -
Your point? If you bother me before I can heal you deserve to get DS'd. Also considering I'm advocating that it deactivates once healed it's a lateral move at worst.
4 -
DS is one of the most well designed perks in the whole game. Please don’t touch it.
2 -
I could see adding the no blood or scratchmarks for a few seconds after stunning the killer, but no way should the stun duration be increased.
I also don't think DS needs a buff. The perk is fine as is and I'd rather the devs not touch it when there are other perks that could use a look at.

7 second stun, 2 gens proceed to pop during the stun and you get blinded during the stun twice. Sounds fun lmao

I agree with the no scratch marks or blood part that would be neat, but DS really doesn't need a buff at the moment.
0 -
DS doesn't need any more changes.
0 -
That’s literally your own fault for going down in that situation. It’s not tunneling. It’s the killer finding someone who’s trying to undo their progress again.
2 -
I feel like DS is in a pretty good spot right now.
0 -
The only thing DS needs is to activate after both hook states instead of one.
2 -
No, it's tunneling.

Skill issue. Don’t get found healing. You don’t get to complain the killer targets you when you’re trying to actively undo their progress. Get good.
1 -
The purpose of ds is to buy time, not stop/counter tunneling.

Agreed. I'm not interested in the semantics and definitions of tunneling. I think self healing is fine. Having it deactivate if the self healer 100% their own heal makes a lot of sense to me, and they could still find another player to cap it off if it was 99'd.
This is what Parental Guidance does. It's the new teachable from Yoichi. Seven seconds of no scratch marks, blood pools, or grunts of pain after a stun. This includes DS.

Genius idea, make survivor completely um punishable by the killer while they 99 a heal in front of their face for ~15.999s and then have another 44s of immunity.
0 -
DS is too easily circumvented, and really fails at providing the relief that so many people want to say that it does. The timer needs some changes.
1 -
It's literally not meant to prevent tunneling. It's only meant to be a discouragement.
1 -
Yeah people who want a preventative for tunneling will be left wanting until DBD dies. Can't be done, and least without completely breaking the game. Determined tunnelers are gonna tunnel no matter what you put in their way.
And the perk is fine.
0 -
I never said it was, not sure why you're reaching that conclusion. Based on all of the prerequisites and limitations, the perk doesn't do enough. There's room for improvement on the survivor side. The nerfs have thus far been exclusively about improving The Killer's experience with it. There have not been changes to improve it for the survivor.
I agree they will never be a definitive perk for any slot, but that doesn't preclude feedback or improvements to DS. It's not fine where it is.

If you want to leave no blood, scratch marks etc. after DS just use it in conjunction with Parental Guidance.
I think DS is actually perfect in its current state.

What !!?? They put you in jail???
Damn, I haven't even had a chance to reply to you in another thread .
Keep keeping on, and ######### these big brother rules, i always enjoy your thoughts!!!

DS is fine as is. If you want more time earn it in the loops.
Simply put, if a Killer wants you out of the game, unless you're swfing, it's probably going to happen.
1 -
It took us 4 years to get it to a balanced state. Don't touch it!
0 -
DS is in a perfect spot right now.
1 -
Why do you want a perk nerve that brings you nothing more just because he was not tunneled within the first 2 survivers, then Eman can also say no way out and noed are only active if more than 2 survivers are still alive would be the cool perks that do not bring you anymore only because of such a non-embedded requirement
0 -
Btw The best counter is not tunneling :)
0 -
Decisive is completely balanced it's fine anyone complaining about it at this point I just ignore
0 -
It needs to activate after both hooks, that's the only change it needs.
1 -
Would be a nice change

Yes, DS would need his Anti-Tunnel aspect buffed. Because especially against the strongest Killers, DS is practically useless, a Blight or Nurse does not care about DS in the slightest. And the impact on lower-tier Killers is also not really relevant, if a Killer wants to tunnel, DS will not stop them in the slightest.
A removal of Scratchmarks, Pools of Blood, cries of Pain would be great. For a duration of like 15 seconds, this would allow Survivors to at least reach LoS-Blockers and maybe get some distance before the Killer is on them.
However, since the Devs released a Perk with exactly this effect when you stun the Killer (and made it weaker before it even hit live), it is definitely not planned to add something like this to DS.
1 -
My idea is it deactivates once you're healed regardless of how you reach the full heal.

I see no possible reason letting a survivor be invincible for 16s while they 99 a heal and then still be invincible for another 44s could be possibly unbelievably busted. Yeah. Seems completely fine.
0 -
its good counter for tunneling, thank gods its not the old version
0 -
Nah, it’s trash counter against tunneling. But killers want this perk to be like this, and devs agreed
2 -
I'd say have it activate on both hook states and that'll be an extra deterrent. Since bhvr did the good ole perk bandage fix with the new perk so the no blood or scratch makers after stun would not happen.
1 -
I think the developers should make a watered-down DS basekit and leave DS as it is since it's paid content.
- Can only be used off of 2nd hook
- Doesn't work during end game collapse
- Only activates if you haven't done anything between the 1st and 2nd hook, besides healing yourself. (That way if a killer is tunneling you out of game, and slugs you, hooks another person, then hooks you, you still get a chance to use it).

It just needs more deactivation conditions. Have it deactivate from getting in lockers or touching exit gates. You're not getting tunneled if you're touching an exit. And deactivate it in end game so survivors don't get a free escape.
