When are the developers going to recognize that Mid-Chapters are substantially more exciting?

I think most of us can agree that mid-chapters like 5.3.0/5.7.0 are substantially more exciting than releases like Artist/Sadako in the long run. Seeing healthy changes and ACTUAL GAMEPLAY UPDATES is far,far more exciting for me (and I think a lot of people than new killers). Could we get a chain of mid-chapters? Like you could even make a community goal of "buy more auric cells" or whatever to support them through doing a bunch of health-focused chapters.

Would you agree?

I honestly disagree... I just enjoy the licensed killers. I guess the Artist mid chapter was better, but that is only because Artist was not really as great as our YouTube friends had hoped.

They're more exciting because they have the potential to change multiple types of content at once

Buffs, Nerfs, Mechanic changes and tweaks, QOL and the occassional map rework. It's refreshing because it's changing content that might've gotten stagnant whereas newer content people seem to get bored with it quicker until it settles in and stops being the 'new thing' so to speak

They are the closest thing we have to 'health' chapters.

As much as new content is cool, when the meta and the current gameplay loop is getting so,god damn boring and frustrating,I'll take more mid-chapters over this any time. Maybe it'll allow the devs to spend more time optimizing this game too.

I'd be far more excited for new content if the underlying game was more enjoyable! They really should do a long-term investment

Mid chapters are only exciting if they are like Mcleans swan song midchapter he worked on before he quit back in nov or so.

That one had a bunch of perk tweeks and addon tweeks.

More perks need just numbers tweeks every midchapter, because right now all the mid chapters feel like a waste of time and don't really breathe any life into the game.

None of the midchapter stuff really does anything for me personally. My twins keep getting nerfed. Mid-tier killers like pinhead get nerfed. Nemesis' addons that made him almost function correctly got nerfed because too many people were using them.

Chapters are supposed to bring people into the game and mid-chapters are supposed to get us to stay yet that doesn't seem to be happening ya know?

Pinhead's addons were overtuned. Also how do 2 weird nerfs to some addons on unpopular killers change the fact that 5.3.0 and 5.7.0 are amazing midchapters overall? 98% of the changes in them are amazing.

I would honestly be right now more happy about "DH nerfed, this weak killers buffed, this OP addon nerfed, map offerings gone, etc." WAY more than "oh look Its the new teaser!! Who it will be this time?"

I'd rather see current killer powers be changed tbh than to see a new one

They really aren't though. Sure, the last couple of chapter reveals weren't very exciting to me, but tbh nothing DBD related really excites me anymore.

The midchapters are pretty much always lackluster. The last one that got me excited was the Doc rework. Ever since then, they have been adjusting killers and slapped the term "rework" on it when in reality they usually tweaked some numbers or gave them small buffs or nerfs. The changes with the midchapters are usually too minor or too few for me to get really invested in them.

Same with this midchapter. They really just reworked some of the addons and made some QoL changes to both Legion and GF imo. Not really exciting in my eyes.

But hey, if you enjoy the midchapters then that's great for you. They just never really appealed to me.

The QoL improvements might be better for existing players.

But "new stuff" patches make money.

They have to balance between them, for dbd to be profitable long-term it has to make money, it's not a subscription service, so once you've bought the game you can choose not to pay any more and still receive a service. Therefore they make no money, unless you buy something "new"

I've ticked over 700 hours or play time, and i've probably spent $40 aussie dollars on dbd. Pretty good value for money.

Have you perhaps missed this part of my post:

Like you could even make a community goal of "buy more auric cells" or whatever to support them through doing a bunch of health-focused chapters.

Or even then, more health chapters would make this game more sustainable in the long-term,leading to more profits.
