Do survivors have the right to complain about bad games if we don’t run meta perks, even in solo q?

I just had a solo q game against a plague… and yes all of us were solo q. I said in egc that solo q is literally unplayable cos one teammate kept cleansing over and over screwing us and our other teammates over. The killer said I had no right to complain as I wasn’t running meta (I was running appraisal and plunderer’s) and that I shld run meta… They also said I should make up my mind in whether I want to have good games or bad games (obviously because I’m not running meta) So if we run meta… killers complain that we are running meta but if we don’t run meta, killers will say we deserved to lose cos we weren’t running meta. Also I think the plague forgot to mention that even if I did run all the meta (DH, BT, DS, UB), that wouldn’t have stopped that one teammate from cleansing everytime he got sick or farming us off hooks without BT because us, as solo q survivors, have no idea what each of us r running in terms of perks or our play style. If this is the state of the game where I’m moaned at for running meta and moaned at for not running meta, then I have lost faith in this game completely.

Running meta perks won't help you against teammates who do nothing or actively sabotage the game. There's only so much you can when no gens have been done and your teammates are throwing themselves at the killer for the hook rescue.

So you are making broad generalizations based on what one plague said.

    Community in the nutshell.

Also who cares what others say, use whichever perks you want.

And you are also complaining about something like everyone else does in chat. Just leave it be and play how you like, let others do as well. Easy.

People always have a right to complain. Doesn’t mean it needs to be listened to.

It’s not a broad generalisation when I run this build quite often and get the same thing from killers, just this one ticked me off more than the rest. I think complaining about this is honestly healthy for the game, it actually might make the devs do something about solo q? If no one ever said anything, nothing wld ever change. There’s only so much I can take where I’m no longer enjoying running my fun builds anymore because of solo q.

I meant in chat. When everyone tells others how to play the game and what should be used.

Which is mostly based on impulses and should be ignored anyway. Like there is any logic and reason when heated gamers rage.

Just play how you want like I said. Ignore the chat.

Literally! I don’t get it? And this happens more often than ppl realise, you just can’t win.

Just run whatever you want don't listen to the cry babies who try and say you aren't good for running meta perks or they try to discredit a win with excuse of meta perks, truth is they're trash and they don't want to admit they lost a game without making some excuse for their lack of skill, it doesn't matter what side you're on you should never worry about what perks you run, when I see people immediately in the endgame chat before you can even say gg accusing the survivors of being in a swf with meta perks I just laugh at how bad they are and think how miserable it must be to have to come up with new excuses all the time, just yesterday I was playing solo and was told I was running meta perks by a killer playing doctor because I had calm spirit and borrowed time in my build.

i run gimmick builds, usually based around a certain idea (currently have a shoulder build, a healing build, and a totem / objective map build) or if i am for whatever reason doing a quest on someone, i try to not run meta because i play both sides: i know how annoying it can be to go to endgame chat after a bad game and see the same handful of perks every match. i know how bad it feels to have every unhook have borrowed time as killer but i also know how it feels to be unhooked in front of the killer without it; it sucks having a hard chase get decisive striked but hell a lot of the time ive wished i had it. but each match is different, and depending on the perks you bring it can be a good build or a bad one. main focus of the game, or any game really, is to have fun! if you find meta builds fun, go ahead. if you find the jankiest synergies fun to try and see if you can get them to work, then try it! dont listen to someone trying to dictate what you shouldnt / should use. focus instead on 'am i having fun with this perk setup?' if the answer is yes, then great! if not, theres nothing wrong with trying new perks, meta or not.

I try to avoid running meta builds, not because it might give a miserable experience to my opponent but rather to keep my experience varied, Other wise I'm just killing the illusion that I'm not playing the exact same game the exact same way.

As long as you didn't complain about the killer, you did nothing unreasonable.
