Oh No, MMR Doesn't Stop Streaks After All
Can't wait to hear about how somebody winning a lot with Artist proves she needs to be 110

He changed the criteria for a win heavily.
22 -
This was also done during one of the mmr tests and iirc it was one of the most lax ones.
24 -
Do not get me wrong, I was VERY shocked he uploaded that video too... Until I watched the first couple of minutes and realized what he was going for.
4 -
Didn't he change the win criteria as well as got the 50 wins during an mmr test?
13 -
It is funny how you never see a survivor main posting a 50 or 100+ win streak. It's impossible.
But yes, Artist is broken.
9 -
did you watch the video. He played last 21 games during no MMR tests. He hasn't done a single streak ever since MMR was implemented.
18 -
Tbf, part of it was during a matchmaking test and he also changed what he considers a win. Previously, he considered even 1 escape through the gates with the gens done to be a loss. Now he allows 1 escape as long as he kills the other 3.
It’s still pretty impressive though.
5 -
Killer with range ability and zone control should be 110. Quite obvious
But we better nerf COH for the 4th time
4 -
Funny how these types of posts always leave out the details.
- He changed a win from 4 kills to 3-4 kills.
- He did it during the MMR testing where MMR basically didn't exist.
9 -
Her "range ability" doesn't injure past short distance. What is her "zone control" exactly ?
3 -
And that’s what I thought at first, but the more you play artist the more you realize why she has to be 115 - because she already heavily encourages shift W and making her 110 would just encourage that even more and make her unable to keep up. She’s fine, and would be absolutely boring to play if she had slower movement speed.

Actually Aryun and a couple other survivors have done large escape streaks. Players like marth88 and dowsey have also done SWF vids where they go tons of games using minimal perks almost never losing a man. That type of content isn't posted as much because survivor is the easiest competitive role ever made :)

I watched that streak in real time and Otz has...honestly come pretty close to mastering birb lady.
Incredibly impressive, took him a long time to do that - but it is tarnished somewhat by the MMR testing he got the streak during.
Except for the survivor mains posting 50 or 100+ win streaks.
And no, the Artist is what all killers should be based around balance wise. Aside from her meh addons, she's near perfection.
This is more 'Otz is broken' or 'doing a streak during MMR testing is silly'.
CoH needs more nerfs. It's a dumb, busted perk and you know that.
Artist is fine where she is. Give her some better addons and call it a day.

Really? A 30 second search gives WimaTV, who put up a 410 in a row escapes streak. Mentioned in Otz's "Top 5 Mad Lad's" video.
8 -
Gonna make a prediction
This 'doesn't count' because
"He used SWF/Keys"
"It was Pre-MMR/It's old"
"Survivors were stronger then"
And
"All the killers were just bad"
Take your pick, which is it gonna be
7 -
He doesn't know 😂
3 -
Actually people DID say "Oh he just used keys so it doesn't count" so WimaTV said "Fine I'll do it again without keys" and he did. He got like 500 escapes without keys, and then just stopped the streak. He didn't die and lose it, he just stopped going for more escapes in the streak.

He literally says in the video half the games were during the matchmaking tests. Stop wanting to be a victim. Not a great look
6 -
Dude, he took advantage mmr was turned off for couple of days. It's not rocket science... Interesting post I guess...
6 -
Pre-mmr streaks are pointless though. Pro Vengeance got a hell of a lot higher than a 50 winstreak as killer pre mmr too. But the reason Otz wasn't able to do this without changing the win condition and intentionally finishing the streak without mmr is fairly obvious. It is the very nature of it. All of these content creators are NOT capped as they imply they are which was obviously evidenced during Otz's 30 second no perk challenge. But to get a 50 winstreak, you literally have to cap your mmr.

He's also been beavering away perfecting his Artist, and she's not far off S tier power wise.
Like...he got 30 odd under SBMM. He'd probably have gotten the 50 eventually.

Only as a SWF. As solo in a regular public match it isn't possible. If it was the "easiest" competitive role why is that I'm almost always seeing survivors losing and killers winning?
I think it is way easier for killers.
1 -
Maybe because you and your team are bad?
3 -
So?
This game isn't balanced around solos. It can't be, because SWF is a thing and killers also need to be able to win against SWFs.
BHVR are aware of this issue, and are giving solo survivors substantially more tools to coordinate and will be buffing killers to compensate. And they have numbers and stats that we aren't privy to.
If you're always seeing survivors lose - remember that the survivor role is a team role. Now - bear with me - what is the common denominator across those games?
1 -
Killers still beat SWF. It is only the very good ones is there a tussle.
While I appreciate the devs trying to help solos, and it might help a little but that doesn't help completely. SWF is only good because really good survivors team up together to have that advantage and know each others. Randoms are still going to lose, because the team effort you are talking about is too high.
Perfect balance can't be fixed with asymmetrical. The best you can do is make it balanced for somewhere in the middle so at least solos have a chance to win.

I won my most games yesterday with my friends. Maybe you are not good enough?
0 -
Not from my experience. I'll see a survivor on morning 1 and beat him. I'll see the same survivor in a 4man on morning 3 and suddenly that coordination and information sharing means I get mauled.
SWFs should be treated differently for matchmaking, but that's another discussion.
I've also done a few SWFs off Discord, as a fairly beginner level survivor, and it doesn't take much skill to call out 'okay, I've got PTS', 'don't bodyblock, using Styptic', 'go down on pallet, I'm near', 'hey, killer heading to shack' or 'I'm being chased in main structure'.
Solos are getting help. Let's see if that's enough before we throw the baby out with the bathwater.
If more help is required, I think a tweak to the SBMM system to account for the delta between SWF and solos would probably do the trick.

Very funny how the MMR tests are all 'it was turned off the whole time!' now, even though the MMR varied widely from easier to harder to roughly the same throughout the tests
1 -
Okey so how about we just start to ignore anything a guy does that basically makes a living from playing dbd. He is very very skilled he is probably one of the top 5 best dbd players we can't compare him and what he does with any normal player and even if he did a 1k streak with a killer that doesn't necessarily mean the killer is broken it just means this guy is on a lvl mmr doesn't grasp because there are probably not enough players of his league to make matches for him so he naturally players against the average high mmr players but I'm sure between them and him there are still worlds of differences
1 -
Yeah, it was all over the place during testing. There were a lot of easy matches, a lot of fair ones, but also I faced some of the sweatiest teams I've ever encountered during that stretch ( I think it was day 2). It wasn't off, they were tinkering with it.

I think you might want to rewatch that video. He literally states that he did this during when the mmr was turned off. Hence completely contradicting the entire point of this post. Not to mention the streak included running noed and trying to tunnel a person out of the match each time as quickly as possible.
1 -
He specifically said that this streak was done during the no mmr test and he heavily modified the rules compared to his previous streaks.
2 -
Someone mention him stealthing I'm about to have bingo
EDIT: someone mention playing both sides and I'll get bingo for the Otz thing as well (last column)
3 -
IMO I like the perkless runs like Marth used to do.
Relying on noed for streaks doesn't mean much imo.
2 -
'Hey, you know, that Micheal Jordan was pretty good at basketball but I did great during gym class so I should be able to compete'
What I think about when people point to Otz, Dowsey, etc as examples of the 'average' killer player.

Zoning you in a dead zone with crows?
Nothing else to go? Are you understanding now...? Or should I explain more.
0 -
Lol. Are they? And when? After they do something about the grind?
0 -
No idea. They tend to move slowly, but they do implement most of what they say they will. As far as we know, the first step is going to be a robust system of status symbols for solos, allowing everyone to know if someone's doing Pinhead's box, doing a gen, being chased, being camped, going for the unhook etc.
My guess is that you'll see this in the anniversary update.

You are supposed to run at another pallet. With her cooldown, it's a waste of time for her.
0 -
Did you even watch the video?
1) He changed the win condition, because of MMR
2) He got the remaining 20 on the day when MMR tests were going on, and it's quite possible it could have been turned off.
What was your point again??
0 -
So you're completely ignoring my post pointing out WimaTV's 400+ escape streak? Lovely cherry-picking - but sadly I'm not surprised.
1 -
So you ran to a dead zone, an area of the map that is favorable to any killer, and are complaining that a specific killer's power is too strong because of it.
Maybe avoid dead zones the best you can.
