People need to stop blaming balance for matchmaking problems.

Even BHVR has explicitly stated this themselves in the most recent Q&A stream. In any game, most are average - why it’s an "average". Very/extremely good players are only a tiny portion. When you factor region and time zones when people play, it is obvious there aren’t enough on for an even match without waiting for hours.

Basically every skill matchmaking-adjacent game has this issue. League’s Challenger players, Overwatch’s Top 500, etc. It’s inherently difficult to solve. The percent of very good players will always be very small.

This is the reason very good players will win almost every single game in DBD ever, no matter what they take or run. They are just outright better than the average player. This is not a balance issue. When one side is a lot better, it is a given the results will be in their favor.

If people want to cite extremely good players as proof of balance or lack of it, they need to cite games where there is an even skill match up - something extremely rare in pub games/more common in KYFs with other high-level players (eg, extremely good streamers organizing a KYF between one another).

"Good/god players will win almost every game." Obviously? The matchmaking does not put them against equally good/god players every single game.

    That offering is broken. Last time I used it, I was matched against a high skilled meta Blight and my teammates all DCd.

    The thing is I know why the systems does this so like you said people don't wait for hours but I hate it for one simple reason. Let's say the elit players are 10/10 so to lessen the q times they could be matched with 9 or 8 players. But why in all hells do I a 5 at best fece people that are atleast a 8? That makes no sense it feels like I get them because they have to long q times because we lack killer over all and at peak times everything gets out of control and we basically have no mmr at all

    Because unfortunately, the chance the 9-8 players are on, in the same region, and searching for a lobby of the opposite type the same time the 10 player is, is pretty low. For instance, the 9-8 players get into a game and start playing, the 10 player gets in queue later, gets matched with 5 or whatever, the 9-8 is done and starts another queue, gets a game, the 10 finishes, etc etc.

    They're actually doing the opposite. They're blaming matchmaking for bad balance. "MMR is ruining my killer games!" Oh, not the 3-4 meta perks on all the survivors? "MMR is ruining solo que!" Oh, not the fact that your killer is a camping Leatherface? As I've said, MMR doesn't cause your problems. It simply brings them to light.

    indeed.....mmr has nohing to do with us being ....... to eachother, 2022 and this playerbase is all over eachother, and we all blame swf's. killers, solo....just being a bad player....perks.....

    i can say for a fact now, after picking up killer, that this is a power role. most players i face i can easy 4k every game....but i just dont, cause i bring the ballance back by making sure survivors have a fun time. looking at it like this....people in general cant handle power....just look at the state of the world and he so-called people in charge.....but thats another topic.

    if we players...swf's solo survivors, killers, would just respect eachothers fun a tinny bit more, this game would be way more polulair to way more players, and call me crazy, but isn't that what companys want....sales and satisfied custumors...weird as ..... if you ask me.....but i guess that in every aspect of life we keep on getting devided by the people in charge....sound almmost like an conspiracy......you want betterr games, more fun....less dc's and first hook give ups.....then its time to take a good look to your own playstyle and the team or killer your facing at that point.

    Great, can I not get that tiny portion of Blights and Nurses then every single goddamn match for the past half a year and play the actual game with these so called average killers? Cheers!

    I mean the game is unbalanced, when you have huge maps, completely safe maps (giddeon) and makes that spawn with a bunch of safe tiles which can combine together thanks to rng same as the pallet density yes the game is very unbalanced and that's not taking into consideration certain perks (cough DH)

    Fact is if you verse your skill it's going to be a horrible time, and you only beat people who arent as good as you if you end up in one of those maps as an example.

    Sure I get at a certain level it may be more balanced because people waste pallets, dont run meta, cant loop perfectly and dont do gens efficiently but as soon as they do goodbye half the killers.

    I have been misplaced in matches, and I can do the exact same chase and one game Its a 3-5gen run and others it's a 1gen run.

    Game is balanced for casual and inefficient players, while that may be the majority doesnt make it balanced sadly

    Yeah thas what I mean with mmr getting out of control. Maybe it would be better if we work on the balance of the game so some more people get into the higher ranks

    SBMM and MMR are kinda the same here. Just because you wanted it implemented in a different way doesn’t mean MMR isn’t present.

    they have said it’s favoring shorter queue times over accurate matchmaking though and the fact it only is affected by kills/escapes is problematic. But it is their MMR system.


    Balance is broken due to communications being used in SWFs, it makes it unfair on the solo players so rather than just balance the game simply by offering communications to all they are trying to buff solo players (and as they do also SWFs).

    In-Game comms wouldn’t solve the problems of soloq for many reasons: people not having microphones/bad quality, language barrier, background noises, trolls/kids playing etc pp. And just giving that and then balancing around it would bring soloq to a literally unplayable level.

    they have said they are trying to buff solo players eg with that action ping system - this wouldn’t buff SWFs as they already have these information… what exactly are you referring to where they tried to buff soloq but buffed swf in the process??

    The truth is it really doesn't help whenever they just throw you with anyone in the match, I can 4k a sweat squad only to turn around and get brainless survivors who can't complete a single gen next game and same with survivor I could escape on a really good killer and then turn around and get a killer who can't catch me for five gens its literally a coin toss whether I'm facing a good player or a noob. They just need to bring back the rank based matchmaking so that way anyone who is more than 6 grades below you will never end up in your match , example if I'm a iri rank 1 I'll never get paired with survivors or killers that are below a gold 2 because the game wouldn't allow it

    You just want MMR implemented in a different way. That doesn’t mean the current system is not MMR.

    and who ever said CoH was their attempt to buff solos?
