Kill Switch update: The issue affecting Baermar Uraz's Ugly Sweater has been fixed and the cosmetic has been reenabled in all queues with this update.

Twins Players, should toy sword become Basekit with the upcoming rework?

Partial Twins main here, I don’t play them unless I have Toy Swords, do you think they would be too strong if they made Toy Sword base kit, considering they are “Monsters at High MMR” I’m really not sure if they would do something like this but personally I’d like to see it, it’s not amazingly strong. It’s great for a brown addon.

Seeing the Legion & Ghostface addon updates, I’m really hoping most of their addons are reworked, they could really get creative. I just hope they don’t do something stupid like not let victor down people or something. If they do anything unnecessary it will be the final nail in the coffin for twins. Just fix the clunky cool downs, update the addons and make toy sword basekit and we have an fun killer to play.

Dowsey had like 200+ 4k win in a row with twins before nerf. So best to leave twins gutted

Sure? I prefer base kit buffs to add ons as I do not use add ons.

But tournaments aren't valid because they have restrictions how to play which perks and addons allowed, lot of those are banned. In real game a killer player can play however they want, so tournaments should be free for all to be used as an example

Yes but the survivor perks are restricted as well, and they consistently win against the best killers, so how does that not reflect how strong they can be in actual matches, with everyone having DS, BT, and Unbreakable?

Tbf I think toy sword there would be fine as you would use your already faster speed without the addon to put the survivor between you and the tree. 9/10 I hit the survivor that's circling the tree cause they cant run around it fast enough.

The small loop was believed to work when Twins came out, but it was figured out shortly after. You don't need any add-on to deal with it.

Take the loop a little wider and run slightly in front of them to bodyblock. That's when you start charging the pounce. They lose momentum and you can land the hit.

There's also another method that requires manipulating the hitboxes. However, aim on controller might be too janky for this. The bodyblock instead is straightforward and reliable.

Also, turning your argument into another us-vs-them doesn't do any justice to any pov you wish to present.

As for the topic at hand, no. Twins best and most oppressive add-ons shouldn't become basekit. They can deal with 95% of tiles already with default power. Those add-ons just turn Victor from requiring just a little bit of effort to press m2 and survivor dies. I'd rather keep the little bit of effort. Especially, because it's literally a little bit.

I think it should be, none of their other add-ons are particularly strong aside from maybe victor speed add-ons.

I'd just like to be able to play them without having to use add-ons.

It would be nice, for sure. You don't NEED Toy Sword, but it's a very feel good add-on to run.

They're considered the 3rd or 4th best killer in tournaments when balancing rules are in effect. It's the opposite of "never used". They're meta and every team has a Twins player.

Are Unbreakable, Dead Hard and CoH allowed in tournaments? If not, then no wonder Twins are good in tournaments, they don't have the Perks that hurt them the most

Depends on the killer, but CoH is universally banned. Every killer has individual perk/item/add on bans to make a balanced match. For example, a killer can't run ranged Nurse with NOED+No Way Out and survivors can't run WGLF or healing speed perks against Twins. And every killer has a set map. Twins are typically played on Azarovs.

So the big counters to Twins are banned? No wonder they're good

He has even said he doesn’t play then anymore because of mmr and because of the clunky cool-downs specifically the one after pouncing.

What is this rework people keep referring to? Avid twins player and I genuinely enjoy them as they are, so i'm extremely worried. Where is the source for this?

    GOD YES

The trade off is that you're playing against teams that counter them with coordination instead of perks, and they still come out ahead of other killers. So the mistakes survivors make in a public match typically aren't made in that setting. Instead of dealing with boons and healing perks, you're dealing with a constantly rotating buddy system where Victor rarely has a clean shot on an injured player.

I currently have 45 Toy Sword add-ons in my inventory, lol. I never use that add-on as the 0.2 second decrease in pounce charge time seems worthless. But it sounds like this does make a difference so I'm going to start using it 😀

They mentioned in a Q&A that “Quality of Life Changes” are coming for the twins, I dare say it’ll be similar to Doctor, Ghostface and Legion, nothing major, just some tweaks to make the smoother, I really hope they don’t ruin an already rarely played killer. But I have hope.

Twins were in a perfect spot once they got some love around April last year but were then made a chore to play. I still love them but current meta + all the changes put them in a bad position where on paper they sound strong, but in reality they have the narrowest edge to balance on. You cannot make a mistake once while playing the twins without at least 8x mistakes being made on survivor side to make up for it. Miss a pounce due to dead hard and you're hardlocked at at least 25 seconds gained for survivors. Consider that they're the only killer who can down someone with their power and has to wait a mandatory 5-8 seconds before picking someone up in a CoH meta, and that's if they're downed relatively near Charlotte!

In the past year the twins lost immunity to dead hard, borrowed time, added 2-3 seconds to Victor's successful pounce victory state, nerfs to addons, nerfs to switch times, and a bunch more I can't remember offhand. I also include CoH as a huge nerf to the twins because there's no way to just grind out the survivors' resources to heal once it's on the field. And instead of getting any love, they got toy sword nerfs because statistically everyone used toy sword.

So getting toy sword basekit would be nice but it won't solve their issues. They're purposefully kept nerfed because survivors hate them vOv
