Getting punished for using the killer's power
The thing is, you get almost no emblem points when downing someone with a one-shotting power like a chainsaw or oni's dash and sometimes only black-pipping or even depipping. Getting punished for using the killers power really feels off and I think this is something that should get fixed / overworked.

In the cases you mention thats not punishment, one hit downs make short chases , which mean more pressure which will lead to kills if the survivors are not that good, you get kills you win, you got rewarded by using your power, now if you talk about something like twins hit timer or deathslinger long range shots that is an actual punishment for using your power in a good/cool way.

Indeed, 1-hit downs are super punitive for no reason. Getting Adept with Ghostface was one of the worst experiences I've ever had.

Yup.
Instadown killers are annoying as hell to try and rank up with after a certain point. Ditto Artist (her bird strikes don't count as hit events).
The OP is talking about ranking up, and how scoring in this game works.
If you're trying to get Iri 1 on an instadown killer, you're going to have a bad time.

I get it but if you want to rank up why not play doctor or legion, wraith is good for that, I dont think ranking is that important really, I'm more concerned with real punishments on gameplay, that said dbd has a horrendous grind, so anything that reduces it is good, and rank reset bp are not an exception, so yeah im all for making ranking up easier for both killer and survivor.

When I got Adept Cannibal I used my chainsaw sparingly. The trick is to wait until your M1s and Chases hit MAX points, then you can use your chainsaw at will.

They could just make instant downs count as 2 hits for the emblems. It'd be "balanced" because it'll still be less points than 2 normal chases. ( 2xhit + 1xchase )

Just keep playing. The grade system is based on time played, not performance, you are mistaken.

Same. Bubba was my last adept and I needed so many tried to in the end just use speed limiter and get it first try with the addon

Not just on the scoarboard but also in gameplay you're punished for using just about every killer's power.
