Racism and Xenophobia in the Game
Hello everyone! I hope you all are doing okay. A few days ago I was playing DBD by myself when I happened to come across two players who I've played with before, well, actually just one of them, because the other one was playing as a killer and they both were trolling the game... you know, the survivor would tell him where we are so he would kill us and they could farm points and all of that. But this time they both were playing survivor and everything was okay at first, they let me and the other random die at the end without attempting to save us but I didn't care about it. When we got to the chat, the random started to kind of being salty with them, I was just curious about why they didn't save us, so I asked them. They started attacking us becasue we speak Spanish, saying racist and xenophobic stuff. I have screenshots of their messages and also their steam profiles. I would like something to be done, I don't like playing the game when I come across this kind of players, I know this is not the community of DBD and honestly it just makes me want to stop playing. I have the screenshots of their messages and steam profiles so please if anyone could help me do something about this. I tried going to Steam Support but they didn't do anything.

Go to the support team for dbd and submit a report about it on there

Absolutely disgusting you can and should report this guy's.
I always chuckle when I see the word xenophobia like when I see homophobia it's not a phobia they are not afraid they are just stupid counts with just enough brain to don't forget to breathe

Been getting a lot of players that don't like Canadians either, and I don't understand how being Canadian means you play a certain way or is a negative type of way?
I thought the consensus for the most part was that Canadians were nice people?

Honestly? Just report them. Theres chat logs for a reason. so if whatever you, and they say is true, will be found out if you send it in. Theres also sandbagging (which can be funny in the right circumstances) (I once killed a Meg with a Pebble) and working with the killer, both are reportable offenses.
Other than that just ignore the racists/liberals and dodge next time you see em.
No amount of reports or censorship is going to stop these sorts of people. Whether they're leftist nazis, or right-wing commies, they hate everyone.

Certain people just hone in like a bloodhound on any differences people have, no matter how insignificant. Or fabricate differences where there are none because they are just determined to be divisive.
It's a dark side of human nature that some people lean hard into.

Phobias are an irrational fear, but homo/trans/xenophobia is largely learned behavior, even if passively absorbed through your surroundings.
It wasnt until I left my Christian bubblethat I realized just how many of my opinions were not truly my own. Took me a while to correct all of that after high school because I trusted authority too much

I think it's a combination. Humans have very rudimentary and evolutionary xenophobic traits (for survival), divisive social constructs build on these, and hateful social programming weaponizes them.
And yeah, deference to authority is a dangerous thing, and to often people focus on other's conformity to their authority, but do not recognize their own.

Something good came out of this haha, I am not that upset anymore, and i really don't care but in the moment it was a little bit triggering since I've heard this attack several times from EU people and EEUU people as well. That's why I funpost. I'm not going to pretend to be a warm or sensitive person because I'm not but just let the past be in the past and have fun in hide 'n' seek super smash bros game.
It gets to the point where you're upset if the killer facecamps you and then you get an afk killer next round and get mad because he won't facecamp you or anyone else. This is just a game of emotions all around.
