You don't seem to understand how important it is to have representation in media. This includes gaming. Growing up LGBT+ is a struggle and we like it when we have characters that are relatable :)

I actually understand your "joke" believe it or not, because even though I'm a homo, I have critical thinking skills. It's honestly just very tone deaf to say that "it shouldn't matter they're just pixels, who cares, yada yada". It matters to us, the community, because we've had to grow up without seeing people like us in the media we consume. It means there's a stigma that being LGBT+ isn't "normal" when it 100% is. Putting queer characters in media destigmatises being LGBT+ to a large scale and it's a very important step in combating homophobia and transphobia.
Even if you choose to ignore all that, maybe take your own advice, if they're just pixels after all, why do you care if David is gay or not?
