Deathslinger is unplayable now?
I read there is some game breaking bug when you scope you get stuck there and you can't do anything. Aka his power is not working at all. Is this true? can someone confirm?

Why is anyone still playing him? I suggest you put this post in bug reports to see it tested. I dont know about you but actually playing slingers sounds awful in his current state.

Why play slinger when huntress exist tho, just play her, you avoid the bug and play an actual decent killer its a win-win.

Same bug is also affecting nemesis. You can't pull out the tentacle but you do get the speed penalty. Apparently the same is happening to pyramid head but I haven't tried yet.

I've had this bug present itself when playing Legion. I activated his power and was hit with a pallet at the moment of activation, it made it so every time I stabbed someone, even with a downing hot, they would go down as if downed for a second, then get back up with deep-wounds... Fairly hilarious, yes, but also annoying because it was happening in the middle of a very tense game, and deflated the whole game...
Until someone decided not to mend and I picked them up, which reset me to default and I could attack and use my power again. Ended the game after with a 3k I believe

Because I like Deathslinger.
At the topic, I've seen a few other people report this so it does seem to be a thing right now- though I haven't tested myself, so I don't know if it affects everyone. Either way, hopefully it gets fixed pretty soon, it's pretty major.

Yes that is correct. You try to ADS but there's no spear in the gun and you get stuck in ADS unable to do anything. Only way to fix is getting stunned.

Deathslinger is underrated right now.
I haven’t seen any bugs with the above characters but I seem to be playing more Oni and Artist this last week.

Onryo has a similar bug where she cannot manifest. She starts the trial somewhere in between manifested and not. She keeps her passive intermittent visibilty, but can hit. It goes away after Projecting or hooking.

Because nurse gets some people dizzy with her fatigues and movement, same qith blight, people wont play something that makes them dizzy, that said I dont have any reason why anyone would play something like trapper or slinger when there are so many better options,unless achievements or adepts maybe.

Deathslinger and Huntress are both ranged so that's why the comparison is there.
This is like two people talking about why not just use a sword over the knife and then you come in shouting "WHY DON'T YOU GUYS JUST USE A GUN?"

Obviously there is a comparison to be made but they are distinct pros and cons to both with huntress being the overall better pick. Deathslinger can still get hits at most loops and is much harder to play around at certain tiles. His hitbox is smaller which can be a blessing and curse and he can’t actually run out of ammo mid chase instead just having a short reload.
I definitely agree slinger in worse (in some respects) but they both excel at different things. Huntress is better in the 4v4 and has better slug and snowball pressure while slinger’s 1v1 is better

the reason why this comparison is made is, because the Deathslinger nerfs stripped him off of his entire identity as a Killer.
In his current state he is literally nothing but a worse version of Huntress.
Why would you play Slinger when Huntress exists, who is almost the exact same gameplay wise, but is significantly better at her job than Slinger is, because she has much less limitations on her Hatchets?
This isnt a question of "why arent you picking the most optimal character?", this is a question of "why pick this guy, when someone else fills the same niece but is superior in everything?"

I used to play him a lot before the rework and he felt fun to play. Tried him for the first time since then and it was truly the first game I’ve struggled with in months. It was horrible, I hardly won. Had to slug everyone

It might be lag related. Like if you scope in during a lag spike you get locked into the animation. Happened to me with spirit before.
I play pretty much play exclusively Slinger, and I haven't encountered this yet on him, i'll keep you posted!

I've been going for the Deathslinger achievement "Bound and Downed" and haven't had this happen. What are the specifics of the supposed bug?

I actually play death slinger quite often, but I have yet to run into this problem. Yet...
Possibly an internet or ping issue? Maybe DBD's servers

I think at this point, it's basically every killer woth an activation power, because It seems to hit every single killer while channeling or switching to their power/unpowered mode.
