If we do get a Spider killer what do think it would be like?

I know people made these posts but if we do get a Spider type killer, will the survivors have to take pictures while being yelled at the entity like J. Jonah Jameson does with Peter Parker about taking pics of Spider-Man? I’m just kidding lol. I just wanted to make a Spider-Man joke lol. But anyway yeah I think it would be really cool to see some of spider shooting webs at survivors or something like it.

If I had to guess would have a mechanic like trickster where you hit them with a web and if you hit them enough they get cocoon and you get a free hit.

I would like if they shot a web at survivor and the next vault or pallet the survivor vaulted would get blocked.

Maybe they can web up areas, or even the inside of lockers, so survivors get stuck. Same kind of mechanic I guess as Trapper's traps, though you'd be blind to the ones inside the lockers until you enter.

    * Could web gens like plague, survivors would have to remove webs like a Pinhead chain

    * Could web windows to slow survivors down

    * Could web rooms which not only slow survivors like clowns bottles, but could give the killer a tingling sensation which would alert them of a survivor in there web / part of.

    * Downed survivors could be webbed thus requiring rescuers to have to unwrap them before healing them. Would aid slugging.

    Plenty to play with

Like i already suggested multiple times, a wall crawler like the aliens in the old game aliens vs predator 2 with the pounce.

But that would be heavily similar to demo but also would be an option to bring that mechanic back into the game for everyone to play without the need of the stranger things license.

The idea of using spiderlings or nets sound interesting though but i don't think they would combine multiple of those things because the killer would be overloaded with options and too hard to deal with for the average survivor.

I think of power similar to pyramid heads'. Instead of hooking you cocoon downed survivor, and maybe some venom power, so you inject a survivor so he gets some debuff for a brief period of time.

If the Devs do that then that would be really awesome and finally something kind of different. But yeah we will have to see what they have in store for us.

That also would be interesting to see too but again we will have to see what is in store for everybody. So yeah I hope the surprise is good.

Shooting webs and AI baby spiders would be amazing

Gens could become "infested" with spiders. If I survivor grabs an infested gen, they are temporarily "webbed" and get stuck on the gen as spiders swarm them. I could see it being pretty terrifying and would make approaching gens very scary. Tap a regressing gen and you might just get webbed.

The whole map is a web and survivors have to crouch across the map or they'll alert the spider.

Generators can be covered with web making survivors stick to it and unable to let go once they touch it for a period of time.

Map has web traps between loops that trap the survivor and they have to struggle to get free or be helped by another survivor.

Seeing as we haven't had a zone control/trap type killer since Hag and we only really have 2 in general I would be expecting that.

something involving lockers, maybe building nests inside them or something. probably gonna be fairly small if it isn't bipedal, one of the spider charms from the last tome says "One day its spiderlings will spill across the realm." in its description.

If It is a spider that lays eggs... Then it reminds me of my own killer concept I expressed back in 2017 on the steam forums:

NEW KILLER CONCEPT: THE SPIDER +MAP, SURVIVOR, PERKS, TL;DR VERSION :: DEAD BY DAYLIGHT SUGGESTIONS & FEEDBACK

    https://steamcommunity.com/app/381210/discussions/5/1471966894863646440/%22

Based on Japanese demon lore, and Femme Fatale killers everywhere. I wanted something that would discourage the way SWF groups currently play and encourage more stealth. I'm hoping this does that... The Spider Appearance/Mannerism: A beautiful Japanese woman in a long flowing white Kimono (a bit undone in the breast area), with beautiful black hair and a wonderful hourglass figure.

Albeit HEAVILY outdated by todays game and standards (especially the -20% movement speed for survivors who are Poisoned part, these days I'd make it a - 5% at most or 2% so that the new Boon could counter it), but It's still all there. A Spider-like villain who can crawl over walls/obstacles at a reduced movement speed, Lays eggs that if allowed to hatch and not crushed by survivors creates a large zone of spiderlings that poison survivors, and a new Status effect: Poison, In which survivors suffering this effect normally suffer it for only 9 seconds, but if they say, stay poisoned for 20 seconds (like lingering in a spiderling zone), they lose a health state. On top of that it slows their overall movement speed, so, trying to repair a gen in a spiderling swarm area = downed in 40 seconds. I'm not so sure on the perks, Obviously I'd have to update their descriptions for the current game, but I still feel I had good ideas on them, for both the killer and the survivor (though again, heavily outdated, and would need some serious adjustments).

As for the map... lets just say this was suggested long before the whole "Logan Paul" Debacle, and I'm sorry for mentioning it in the first place, much less suggesting that a survivor decide to end their own life in that infamous place (as so many others have) but instead end up taken by the entity. I want to formally apologize for that, and honestly have no defense other than, at the time of this concepts posting, it was the dark side of modern Japan that the Japanese knew about, but didn't want to acknowledge, and thus has incurred a substantial amount of feelings of dread and superstition that I thought would fit right in for a horror game, and I wanted to tap into that... I realize I was arrogant when I made the suggestion. Logan Paul was worse than me in his infamous videos, but not by much, and I am abhorred to think that I once thought this way because I was after the tense "Real World" horror, but neglecting in sympathy, for both the actual victims who lie in that forest, and for mocking it with my admittedly pathetic survivor concept.

As for anyone wondering why I was Banned from the Steam forums... I was Younger, and obviously SIGNIFICANTLY more stupid, and I told an admitted hacker on their own post, to do something that rhymes with "Cry in a Choir". I'm not proud of that, and have obviously learned my lesson.

Other than these things, I still think the Concept is great if outdated, and wonder if the devs, if they are planning on making a "Spider" killer, took any inspiration from it.

Can we finally get a killer without two legs? The human form killer cliche is running dry, we need some real monsters.

  • Chordyceps

I imagine there are two route is might go down: webs with a slowdown effect/trap effect, or a poison that gives you some sort of debuff. Potentially both.

imo i'd go down the route Riot did for League with Elise, transforming killer that can transform between a normal character and a spider, with the spider form being alot more dangerous than the human form, making a killer who is both two legged for the humanoid feature to be more of a "Seductive" side that lures survivors into dangerous spots, while the spider form is lethal in short range and alot more mobile than the human form, basically encouraging you to attract survivors and take them down in spider form.

And for Mobility, have her do what Axe Boy (Can't remember his name) where they could have her make a web in a straight line that punishes survivors for walking into it, while making her incredibly fast while on the webs in spider form, add-ons could effect the range or the punishment on the survivors for walking in it, while the others could apply to the human form. None of the things I described are Elise besides the transforming part, not saying the other part

It was a interesting idea and we all make mistakes and the concept makes sense because Dead By Daylight is somewhat a horror game even though it does has its silly moments but it also still again has some horror into still.

That’s also interesting too and like I say I hope whatever we get is good.

Yes I agree we should be able to have more monsters like Demogorgon even though some people can’t play and get the Stranger Things Chapter anymore. So yeah seeing another monster and getting another one would be really cool too.

It would be cool for the spider killer to have an alternate hooking mechanic, like Pyramid Head and his cages, but this time with spiderwebs. Maybe survivors who help someone from the web suffer the Hindered status effect? Would make altruistic plays more risky, but might encourage camping, I'm not sure. (Also imagine reaching third hook phase on a spiderweb and instead of the entity taking the survivor up, they get eaten by little spiders)

Another cool power would be for the killer to shoot webbing onto pallets. Survivors who throw or slide across a webbed pallet get stuck and have to free themselves. Of course, for balance there would be a limit to how many pallets can be webbed at once. Maybe the killer can also web up vault locations too?
