Why killers can see which items survivors have equipped?
MMR is hidden.
Grades are hidden.
Teammates perks are hidden.
Killer is hidden to survivors.
So, why the killer can see the survivor items in the lobby?

Killer has like 2-3 perks related to survivor items

Its simple:
Its a 4 v 1 and the killer seeing that types of items the survivors are bringing are one of the advantages the 1 killer gets over the 4 survivors.

Is this an official statement from BHVR or is it a community accepted excuse?

They already removed the option to change killers in the lobby what more do you want

Which is exactly why they shouldn’t get to swap their perks prior to a trial starting. If they want to counter items, it should be a forethought (as it is in DbD Mobile).

Killer is stalking them.

Ah yes, hide items so more killers can quit the game because they dont know what they're up against and have zero ways to counter it.
Thats like having every killer be undetectable and invisible until we swing or use our power.

It’s pointless. Smart survivors will last second switch anyways. And then everyone can enjoy a requeue experience when a whiny killer dodges!

Grades were only hidden in an attempt to stop people from blaming "I keep going against rank 1 survivors as a rank 20". Killer is hidden to survivors to prevent people from putting on a full "anti this killer" build. Items are an extra thing you bring into a trial that can save a lot of time for survivors. I don't get why they would need to be hidden for something so powerful.

1, If your whining about killers seeing surv items and then getting outplayed, then you're also whining.
2, Hiding surv items will undeniably make more people DC and quit the game because they have 0 clue of what they are going against and will just make playing surv obsolete.
3, If your gonna hide surv items then show killers 2 perks from every surv.

Excuses are for when you did something wrong.
There's nothing wrong with seeing the Survivor items so you can plan accordingly.

I keep seeing it's 4 vs 1 as an excuse for bad players to continue to be bad. Killers are all overpowered. Period. Some are less overpowered for sure but most aren't. And unless a swf team is cheating in some way, the killer has a way better chance at killing at least 2-3 than a team of 4 has to survive. None of the survivor "offensive" moves are geared to be effective enough to really cause any issues to the killer. Let's be honest. The only way the game would ever be geared to survivors and not killers is if the perks and pallets and items Affected the killer for a longer duration of time, or if one actually caused injury to the killer like the basic attack does. And let's also talk about one hit downs and super speed walking/running. If this game were geared like say an actual horror film, the potential victims would have the ability to defend themselves upto and including lethal force. But it's just a game. And bullies will always be bullies...............

Survivors should be locked in at 15s to prevent last second switching

Everyone locked after readying up and playing the match made for them. Just like DbD Mobile.

Nah, there should always be an option to dip out if you see a person you know is gonna be toxic/useless join the lobby

If you think "all killers are overpowered" you probably shouldn't be calling anyone else a bad player. The higher skill you get, the smaller the list of viable killers becomes. People can argue all day about which ones are/aren't viable, but its a pretty universal truth its not the whole roster. And thats viable, not overpowered.

Killers are supposed to plan for the upcoming Trial, seeing the Survivors and Items they are holding is a part of that

They do not sound very smart unless their goal was to wait in queue again... Or get tunneled if they aren't in a SWF. Lol. Very wise survivor mains. I hope to one day achieve such enlightenment.

Play killer for a month, you'll understand why it's necessary.

Which reminds me, we should add a suggestion to prevent swapping items once the 5 seconds limit has been reached (or the 15 one, I'm not sure what's best)
I'll post one right now.

Everything’s already locked at five seconds for all players. Might wanna get your info straight before suggesting changes.

Because like everything would be abused by survs.
Every other lobby would be 4 flashlights and we would be back to where we were years ago when the flashlight blind was a pure white screen that gave you headaches after it flashing 20 times per match.
survs already abuse the last second switching to flashlights, if killers could not see items it would be even more widespread

I has been a long time since I cared about last moment swapping. I don't usually look at the lobbies until I hear the match cue. Feel free to correct the info in the suggestion. I was still waking up so I don't recall what I've written except that it goes basically "too little time is for a dodge" => "do it from the start or soon after"... Something like that.
