Toxic map offering? Facecamp

OpenX
OpenX Member Posts: 890

Tell me I am wrong.

Meta survivors sending me to garbage maps every game then crying they lost.

I can only reiterate the statement, ggez

I mean with an ormond offering they knew exaclty how bad that map is for killer. If he didn't tunnel or camp he would have most likely gotten no kills.

That's one gentle way to handle it.

the general mindset is resumed in that phrase: you aren't allowed to tunneling and camping and/or use strong addons/perks, but they can genrush, use offerings for nasty maps, using the same meta perks and eventually use broken items... just a normal day on dbd, move on...

    They don't really deserve any.

BHVR need to get rid of map offerings because their map designer is so awful that some of them offer way to much of an advantage.

    Map Offerings are toxic?

Ormond is a great map. It's not big, it's not full of a pallets and chained safe loops.

Not sure why you'd consider it a toxic map. Not when Game, Rpd and to a lesser extent crows, exist.

I want to say I don't like what you did but I have to say they should just get rid of map offerings. We have maps that are better for killer and maps that are better for survs so just get rid of the offerings and let Lady luck decide what you get

    Every map offering deserves sweat.

It only sucks when I play solo and get the spice instead of the map offering user. But what can you do

While I totally believe map offerings should either be retired or reversed (so using one makes you not go to that map), calling them toxic just grinds away some of the last meaning the term is desperately holding onto.

I facecamp without a reason, because I can!

I mean if I'm gonna have a miserable time because the survivors chose the map that is unbalanced and you can't change that fact then yes if they don't want to have fun then neither will I. Either way face camping isn't toxic but the motive might be.

Also I don't see what's so immature about not wanting to play an unbalanced map but hey I guess taking the smart approach is immature nowadays. Why try when I know for a fact that by the time the first chase ends through 10 pallets that 4 gens will be done and if I leave chase the same thing will happen. And I can't split pressure because the map has a ridiculous gen spread.

You don't need a justification to facecamp. Just as map offerings are part of the game so is facecamping.

That neither of those are fun, yet very effective, is a fault of the gamedesign.

If that's how OP wants to play then fine there's nothing wrong with it but if you fail you shouldn't be talking trash and if the survivors all escape on you and say "GGez" then you deserve it after trying to flat out ruin the game over a map offering when you as a killer have the exact same ability to play a map offering or a sacrificial ward and a OP build , the idea that people should weaken a build or not play a map to feel better about what the other side thinks is just crazy and you should run a OP build if you want to and if you don't feel like it then don't, I hate how I 4k survivors or I escape a killer and the first thing in the chat is some excuse about why I won even if it makes zero sense it's like their brain just flies out the window after a loss when in reality it was just a bad play and you could possibly beat me the next time we run into each other because that's how DBD works. It's like a fist fight, just because you come out on top once doesn't mean the same guy won't catch you off guard and work your head in for you the next time.

Or, you know, they could have had a challenge where they needed to fall from a great height or something. You don't always know why someone brings an offering, stop assuming.

I mean... look at their builds and how they responded. I highly doubt they had a challenge to fall from a great height while in chase. Even then there's no map thats exactly better for challenges other than gideons for drop pallets in chase/stun killers.

This same thing happened to me the other day. The killer was as toxic as they possibly could be to everyone and at the end of the match they said it was because of the map offering. I don't know why they would prefer a random map over a map offering given the random map could be one they don't like too. Killers can also play map offerings.

Everything you said there is wrong. None of what you listed is good game play on either side. With the exception of genrush which isn't a survivor issue it's a bad killer issue or inexperienced killer issue. 5 generators needed and 4 survivors. If every survivor worked on one gen and you as a killer allow 4 to be completed, you need more practice. But very rarely do individual survivors work on 4 different gens. And nasty maps? Didn't realize that's a thing. I like some maps better than others and prefer outdoor maps over indoor. And meta perks? Killers have way more meta perks than a survivor does. The killer starts out mostly overpowered. Add a perk and damn.

I mean if i see a map offering i know the survivors are sending me somewhere they know they have an edge over me or good for their build or for boons. I play little dirtier as well.

I've been send to RPD few times and yes i will tunnel you out of the game. I'm not going to be playing nice if im being sent somewhere they know they can abuse for their fun. I'll get my own fun by playing little nastier too.
