DBD is in a bad state right now

I'm starting to lose hope into this game. Hook Bugs, God Spots, and other killers and survivors having the same perks is so boring and unfun.

I heard a lot of people saying its unfun and needs balance I actually really agree. First off the quality of life is very bad and it really sucks. First off the perks needs a nerfs and buffs which will make people come back again. Also a big maintenance update for the quality of life and bug updates will make it better again. In the meantime, instead of sending chapters BHVR can fix the game for like 3 or 6 months to make it balanced and then nerfing and buffing killers in the meantime will be a good idea to make dead by daylight fun again.

Also reworking the whole offerings and items will make it even better than usual. But also to make the game alive they can add cosmetics to the game so we can feel the hype again like sending a new cosmetic for Jane or like Huntress and even tombs will be a good idea to begin with. Plus order to make it a safe haven then BHVR needs to have camera footage of the game if hackers come into the game and taking hostage or a person in the game tries to be toxic and trying to harass people in the endgame or lobby chat.

But order to make this game fun again we will get old players back and it will be in a good state.

Does this sound like a good idea to you guys?

I'm not too sure why they haven't done some more balance test runs on some PTB more often as a lot of stuff only needs some minor things and cooldowns to be put in line. Ive been in this game for 4 months and can point out almost everything that needs a look at and I'm not playing at a top tier lvl (Im thankful for that because its way too stressful for me and im sure many many many people). I think you need a relatively new fog member to point out blatant issues that veterans are "used to" and think is ok. But of course i know their opinion is valuable as well but shouldn't be the main deciding factor in a game like this when root causes of behaviors are looked at (such as the power creep of perks is getting out of hand instead of fixing a root cause such as map designs and other logistics such as gen repair speeds ect.)

A good example of this is perk starstruck which isn't exactly mega powerful... but pretty strong and seems to only have been made to combat SWF body blockers /sabas.. which is kind of odd balancing imho. and the expose lasting as long as it does?

Then of course we have Dead hard and the main meta perks on survivors which i totally get they need to live against killers perks but they are frustrating to go against as killer (why hasn't Decisive Strike's stun be reduce to 2.5 seconds???? i dont know? would fix the complaining about it because thats the only issue i see with it is the 5 seconds of stun)

But yeah i think without much info on their balance I think they want a fast paced you screw up once you dead competitive playstyle which tailers to such a small percent and thats why people arent even playing killer anymore as much and this game feels bad. One thing i give a tip for people is to play casual and have fun with friends and take it less seriously (can be hard, i think they should tweak the pips to be easier to get to allow people to feel less bad about being dominated)... I have an enjoy the game much better (balance is super needed though)

The problem is that they've already milked 6 years out of the game and they didn't expect it to last this long I remember when Mathieu Cote said on the first anniversary they wanted to go at least another five years and we're already at that point, they've made their cut and now if they want to they could try and keep it going but they will more than likely move on to the next project soon and the writing is on the wall with alot of the original development team slowly leaving for other opportunities. I think this game will still be accessible but eventually there will be a last update and they will probably leave the servers on until the game officially starts to be dead and then shut them off at that point, how long will it be until this happens? Anyone's guess is as good as mine they could ride it out a few more years if we're lucky

I honestly think bhvr was hoping death garden would take off and they could wash their hands with dbd. Then garden flopped and they reluctantly went back to their only cash cow.

DG was awful. They either made the game a nightmare for the hunter where people figured out you could just stun lock them. or the hunter had to much freedom and dominated the runners, practically requiring coms to have a hope of winning.

the community still complained when they did a mid chapter devoted to bug fixing and slight balance changes (5.5.0) without any content

This game would die so fast if they stopped pumping out content. The game has a repetitive game play loop so you need that influx to keep things fresh.

The game isn't actually in that bad of a state they just need to create a fix for strats that make the game unfun and buff other aspects as needed.

Balance is hard. It's really hard. There's a massive skill and game sense gap between the top, middle, and bottom of the playerbase. And there's also a gap between solo and SWF. That gap is often overstated when survivors and killers are actually good, but there's still a gap nonetheless.

As another poster alluded to, it's the Starstruck problem. This perk isn't even good, but it often ends up being massively powerful.

It's countered by running away. Literally all you have to do. You shouldn't be anywhere near the pickup anyway unless you have sabo/breakout or you're greeding a gen that's 100% going to finish. So, A: why is the survivor even close to the killer in the first place to get found with Starstruck and B: why are they even on the same side of the map as the killer once Starstruck procs?

How often do you see teammates go down to Starstruck next to a 40% gen? It's pretty often. Then watch a high skill lobby and see how the killer gets zero Starstruck downs.

    Balance is really hard.

The community will complain regardless if it was good or bad. That doesn't mean you shouldn't do it. If the game is at stake, put your foot down and do what needs to be done to fix it.

They complained when exhaustion was added. When they removed double pallets. When ds was reworked. When MoM was introduced and reworked. Old ruin got reworked. Look what happened after these changes. The game improved.

I agree they need to work on the game but good thing is there is somewhat comp now. Evil dead came out and its not exactly the same but its so refreshing to play and way better than VHS imo. See you in the woods not in the fog.

Sometimes people have to be protected from their own foolishness... sometimes the "This is for your own good and is going to hurt me more than is going to hurt you" solutions have to made.

The game is bloated right now, has a ton of underlying problems some of them slow as hell to fix for they would require A LOT of testing, if we want a better game we have to stop complaining when they dont release another Killer with a collage of powers only to end playing the same characters we normally play.
