VPNing players are running rampant
I am getting so many players using VPNs now it's ridiculous. Probably around 5 times a day I'm getting matched with players that have 150+ ping and when it's the killer it ruins the game.
According to BHVR themselves using a VPN is cheating. Under the game rules for permanent bans it lists: "Using 3rd party software or other tools to gain any kind of unfair advantage that wasn’t intended by the game, except if they have been whitelisted by us."
There are more than just hackers in this game, cheaters are everywhere and it's so hard to play now.

And at the same time killers are forced to used VPN so that hackers won't just DDOS them since BHVR can't even code so that your IP address isn't leaked with dedicated servers. Lose-lose situation.

That's a myth but whatever.

Some just want to teleport with friends.

You can't actually extrapolate private IP addresses from games like that. It can happen if you're hosting something like the old dbd servers but it can't happen because of dedicated servers.

This has to be outdated since they recommended players to play using vpn with the ip leak issue (I have no idea if this issue is now fixed btw).
Also this reminds me one time a survivor said me this:
He had a ping of 120 ms, I had about 30 ms and he blamed me for the bad connexion.

Pretty sure using a vpn isnt against the rules lmao, but I do agree that high ping players are annoying
3 -
They should just make it so that if ANYONE in the game (survivors OR killer) have a ping of above 100 they get automatically booted from the game.

It's not a whitelisted 3rd party service and it gives them an advantage.

Since you´re going down this road. What proof do you have, that the killers you play against use a VPN?
2 -
Didn't BHVR widen how far players are that you can match with to alleviate queue times? Couldn't that be part of it

Well firstly their hitting and downing me from way farther than you're supposed to and my ping is always good, around 30ms.
Secondly their entire profile is in a completely different language (usually Chinese) which would make sense because US West is the closest place people from Asia would connect to.
Thirdly I have survivor friends who I play with that live in China. Their ping is always around 160ms when they play with me. They're really nice guys though it's just unfortunate the game is banned in China.

No because they're using an external software to connect to my server, it's always been a thing it's just going crazy right now.

You have to use a VPN because BHVR can’t provide basic security in their game

I'm going to start using a vpn just to bug u guys

What makes you think Behaviour hasn't whitelisted using VPN? They even recommended it a while back to protect your connection.
Also what exactly about using a VPN "gives someone an advantage"?
3 -
They literally had a banner at the top of this website warning about the DDosing issue for several months but yeah just a myth.

Wireless and Satellite Internet exists.
Also
"Using 3rd party software or other tools to gain any kind of unfair advantage that wasn’t intended by the game, except if they have been whitelisted by us."
Is clearly there for cheating software. Unless you like to ban gaming mice and keyboards with built-in macro buttons.
2 -
That would be true if mice and keyboard macros fundamentally altered hitboxes and latency. They don't actually change anything about the game just aspects about the controls.
Using a VPN changes how the game is played by having every survivor's actions and movements become delayed which is undoubtedly an advantage.

BHVR themselves recommended that everyone use a VPN after the IP hack issue.
Did you bother Googling this?
It wasn't that long ago where people found a way to peel someone's IP out of the game.
