"Suiciding is a massive problem." Gee I wonder why.

...Help me out, what's supposed to be wrong with this image that'd warrant suiciding on hook?
27 -
I don't get it.
Suiciding is basically just a BM. You're denying the killer rank and BP because they had the audacity to start winning.
16 -
Seconded. OP be fishing.
13 -
there's a massive lack of context
4 -
Person who never plays solo queue survivor spotted.
23 -
That picture is misleading theirs no bubba revving his chainsaw in front of you at 5 gens.
2 -
This screenshot can mean 3 things:
- both survivors were hooked for the second time. The other 2 survivors thought that another survivor would go for the rescue.
- both survivors tried to suicide and didn´t gave the others time to react.
- gen rushing kills

There is no lack of context whatsover. The snapshot gives you every context you need. Two people hooked. Everyone not hooked evidently going "not my problem". One is already effectively dead - and the other is as well ~fifteen seconds later because it's impossible to get there in time. Since the other two didn't bother to get to the first person hooked there is no reason to assume they bother moving for the other one. At this point just failing skill checks to get out of there asap seems like the rational, reasonable and smart thing to do.

Or someone got hooked, started suiciding. Person 2 came for the save, got hooked and followed suit. The other two could be on their way, and the game could have been salvaged had they not given up.
I play a fair bit of solo queue. I've seen winnable games sabotaged by someone giving up...so many times.
Hell, here you've got what I assume were 0 hook people on their first hooks, at 2 gens, both suiciding, meaning that the game is now probably unwinnable by the other two.
If they'd just held fast, one survivor could have rescued while the other popped an additional gen - maybe getting a 3 or a 4 out.
3 -
Gens b4 friends
Though, it can work if a killer is nice and just gives out free saves
2 -
Survivors upset with teammates = DC
Survivors upset with killer = DC
gonna be some DCs either way bois

But the context is suiciding. Why would they be going to save teammates who started giving up and suiciding on the hook? That'd be a giant waste of their time.
Especially since there's two gens left, and those two players are both seemingly working on one. Maybe one or both of those are very close to finished, and the plan - in the head of the survivors who aren't hooked, anyway - was to finish it and then book it to the hook to get a save. That'd be a smart play in that situation, surely you'd agree, and the fact that the two who got hooked are suiciding is making everything a lot worse.
I only ever play solo queue when I play survivor, that doesn't give this image any of the context it desperately needs for any kind of salient point.
3 -
No, there is never a reason to be a bad sport and sabotage a game for the sake of your own ego. There are people who play solo who have integrity.
7 -
Bad Survivors being bad wow, that is such a SoloQ issue y'know? There aren't any bad players in SWF's y'know
1 -
I was totally abandoned, and after spectating, so was the other guy.
Being totally abandoned.
I agree. Yet heres why a lot of people do it. Cause no ones gonna come ######### save them anyway so why bother?
5 -
Man you're in a really good position. Only 4 hooks with 2 gens left? That's awesome.
0 -
...But why would they go save you if you're suiciding?
Or, conversely, how would you know you were abandoned if you started suiciding? They could've thought that allowing you to hit second stage while they were finishing repairs was a tactically wise move, which it might've been. There were only two gens left, prioritising a generator that's nearly finished over an immediate save is not, by any stretch, "abandoning" the hooked player.

I didnt suicide, I held out because im not a #########, but these images should speak for themselves
2 -
They really shouldn't, and they don't. There are a variety of things one could infer from this image, and all of them lack proper context.
If your point is that solo queue teammates don't rush to save each other, this image doesn't inherently convey that nor support it. I don't even disagree with that sentiment, though it by no means justifies suiciding, it's just that this image has nothing to do with it lmao.

OP isn't even looking into the map, they are looking at the other hook, and right wall, hiding to the whole map which is to the left of them.
0 -
im pretty sure it's both of the survivors' first hook and they're being left to die by the other two. They went from 2 gens 2 hooks to 2 gens 2 survivors dead (average solo q experience lol)
0 -
I know that situation.
They want to finish their gen - then rush to the hook - but get interrupted by the killer and don´t make it in time...
If have seen more self kills lately too.
I never kill myself on principle but i can relate a bit at the moment.
Legions are horrible, Huntresses with very good long shots are annoying, Killer downs two players super quick or the happy camper.
1 -
oh right these situations
in the event I use kindred and this happens I just suicide tbh
1 -
I remember when letting someone hang till just right before strugglephase was strategic instead of "abandoning" someone. Then the timer got extnded and suddenly its toxic to not get rescued into the killers face lol.
1 -
Where is the killer here?
How long have you been on the hook? Who was hooked first? There math to be done here, and neither one of those teammates would have any chance of getting to you in time, and unless they are potatoes, they know it. I want my teammates to stay alive, but I am not going leave a nearly completed objective in pursuit of a lost cause, either.
How close are those two gens to being done? They are the last two, after all.
Also, if the other person was just hooked, they other two might have thought that person had been going for the save.
Or maybe those two just left you both to die from the outset. We've all been there, but this image on its own doesn't tell us a ton.

Ive had ppl off themselves because i was 99ing the exit gate right next to em before gettin the unhook. Ive had ppl do it when i was hiding right next to them waiting for the killer to walk away a little so they dont get immediately tunneled down. Ive got no sympathy for ppl that wanna opt out at the first feeling of "abandonment". Sack up n hang in there for a couple minutes then someone that knows what theyre doin might be able to get u out alive. Just my own personal thoughts on it.
2 -
Some people will suicide if all three teammates don't immediately drop everything and run to them the second they are hooked.
There is a certain amount of time you have between hook stages, and experienced players have a feel for that.
That's not to say you won't ever be left to die, or go to second stage (especially at lower ranks), but some people need to take a deep breath and assess before DCing or killing themselves on hook.

I had been hanging there since first hook. I tried to jump 2 times cause they were completely ignoring me, but held out on struggle just in case they woke the ######### up and realized i needed help
Not very far along when I got hooked, since we had just popped the 3 gens they were working on at the start,
Other one wasnt going for the unhook at all, he got chased around near them before running up the opposite side of the map so obviously wasnt coming to save me
