Are they really going to NERF DS AGAIN. and borrowed time?
Like tunneling is one of the most frustrating things in this game, having a perk that's only purpose is to DELAY tunneling being nerfed AGAIN seems unreasonable.
Its EXTREMELY BALANCED.

I'm hoping these are signs they are putting them as some form of a basekit feature or tunnelling is getting a nerf

Same, survivors def need more perk slots to run other meta perks.
5 -
It honestly better be. There shaking the meta to make it fun
But then if they nerf Ds just make one of the worst parts of the game worse.

Keep in mind, they hinted a while back that they were looking at Borrowed Time maybe being base kit, and they've also talked a few times about how they want to systematically find a way to steer killers away from face camping. So it's quite possible that part of this big perk pass will involve actually making one or both of those sort-of base kit abilities, maybe in a weakened state, and revamp or replace those two perks entirely.
Personally as a killer I don't find Decisive Strike all that bad since if the survivor touches any gen or does any healing the effect ends. Really if I trigger it after I down someone it means they did literally nothing the entire time between when they got rescued and getting downed again so that's fine, the perk gives them a helping hand at that point, no big deal. However that's just my opinion, it may be that the devs are seeing too high escape rates associated with it in which case they'll be inclined to tweak it a bit.
Borrowed Time is one of those perks I just assume all the survivors have when they're doing a rescue in my face. And again, honestly, it doesn't bother me that much. I almost always end up still getting a hook trade in those types of situations regardless, and even if I do hit someone protected by BT I at least get the consolation prize that they have to run away and Mend for a bit before doing anything useful. But like I said above, it's quite possible this one will end up just being a thing all survivors get automatically when rescued, maybe with a lower duration or something.

They said DS will not become basekit.

They also said a couple of times they weren't planning to add bots to the game because it was too difficult to program. What they might or might not do can change over time.

they better not nerf self care .

They did absolutely nothing for Solo queue again.
If they nerfed BT and DS, I'd just stop playing the game entirely. Without being a part of an SWF, it would be the definition of insanity to keep it up lol.
Maybe next update instead of addressing really annoying things about the game they'll give us a Dress up side game where we can pretend Claudette is a Kardashian and discover fun new looks.
3 -
Actually wouldn't mind that. sick of my teammates self caring against sloppy butcher just to get hit again right after

One fair change that DS could getis that it gets deactivated whenever you hook another survivor, there's a lot of times where killers get stunned by ds,even when they don't tunnel.
4 -
I mean if they make BT baseline in some form then it might be fine. No idea what they plan to do with DS though and I am a bit worried about that one.

I would say 30 seconds into ds maybe.
I've gotten downed because my teammate unhooked me in front of a killer who is CARRYING someone so if ur suggested nerf goes through right as they hook the person im screwed.

I could have misunderstood what you said but I don't think nerfing meta perks to encourage using weaker perks is how it's supposed to go
0 -
I don't see how SC can get any worse 😄 it takes way too long to heal with it

Bruh... BBQ & POP is getting nerfed alongside Corrupt. What are you crying about lol. A hex peek (ruin) is also getting nerfed. That's basically 80% of the killer meta without addressing the reason for the meta.
BBQ (the grind)
Pip (gen speed)
Corrupt (gen speed)
Ruin (gen speed)
3 -
Yes but nerfing perks that help prevent one of the strongest and most unfun tactics should not be nerfed
1 -
Im crying, because i dont want the ammount of tunneling to INCREASE i dont want one of the only ways to Help prevent/Delay one of the most unfun things to be nerfed

Survivors are getting 12 perk slots in the coming chapter ;)

Will be great if they change these. It would be nice if my teammates played smarter instead of relying on perks to buffout their poor decisions.

@Peanits I have no idea how to take this.
ur scaring me man

BT base kit confirmed

A change I would welcome: make so DS deactivates when you perform the action to open an exit gate. Since it deactivates when doing gens and healing, I don't see why not deactivate on opening exit gates, since that's also an action torwards the survivors' objective, and the killer will want to stop it. Of course, there is also the fact that you HAVE to try to hook a survivor you just downed after they opened the exit gate, or otherwise they will escape no matter what. That's not really tunneling.

Here's quick math:
If you didn't tunnel a survivor and still got DS, that means for the entirety of you chasing another survivor and hooking them, they did nothing.
With the assumption that 1 killer second is 4 survivor seconds, that means that for a 5 second stun, their DS needs to be active less than 20 seconds for them to gain time. The only time survivors gain time from DS being more than 20 seconds is if they were actively chased.
So if you chased another survivor for 40 seconds after DSboi has been unhooked, spend 10 seconds hooking them, 5 seconds opening the locker because DSboi was like "hahah, DS go brr", then they have wasted 55 seconds doing absolutely nothing. Subtracting 20 seconds leaves 35 survivor seconds being completely useless. And if they unhook their teammate, well, they have used their DS and are now a free kill.
The only time that tactic is not beneficial for a killer is if they have Adrenaline trigger after their stun. Outside of that scenario, it's beneficial for you. Their only gain is if you get frustrated from it.
Embrace survivors playing like that, they are your biggest help to winning the game.

BBQ has like 7 counters already. Why does it need to get changed further? No disrespect intended to you or any devs.
1 -
Mabye there making it baskit bloodpoint wise.

If I was to play this game again, BBQ would be dead then. If the points for 4 hooks is base, no need for BBQ.
Let's revert them billy nerfs too lol.

If it means they actually fix tunnelling and camping without needing to occupy 2 perk slots just for it, then it's good news. The tremendous amount of resources you have to waste as a survivor just because someone feels like ruining the game for all the rest, is long overdue for a change.

I've written it up with more detail in another recent post but if there was just a single structural change coming from this overhaul, it would be to eliminate bloodpoints from perks. It's just not a great design principle. The perk is run mostly because of something external to the individual game round and that's a pretty weak reason for it existing and not what perks are meant to do.
Bloodpoints currently are part of 7 Perks (most of which see little use) and hopefully after the refresh they will be part of 0 perks.

I am really so excited to see those changes.

When the exit game is 99% opened or full opened and recently unhooked survivors are running directly to exit gate while injured and you (the killer) are there is also frustrating. The killer can't do nothing about it, but all I see is you complaining about DS being nerfed again. Cough cough. "Not a perk abused at all."
1 -
Not really abusing the perk. Can see how thats frustrating thi
1 -
Hopefully they both get nerfed. Would be an amazing improvement to game balance.
1 -
Yeah dude that's BS
0 -
Yeah I don't agree with him either, the bloodpoint part was put into bbq to deter tunneling
0 -
That's dude is just saying stuff. I'm not gonna take it serious.
