Prestige Cannibal or Grind Out Perks?

Main issue is straightforward. With the new prestige changes planned in Summer, prestiging gains a whole new value. I've got all my killers at 50, but have yet to prestige one because I didn't feel it worthwhile.

With the pending changes, this means I can get every perk on every Killer in, at minimum, Tier 1. However, since I don't know what's planned in the big perk overhaul re: Barbecue & Chili and We're Gonna Live Forever, I'm wondering about the best way to get them at tier 3 for everyone.

The news on this, specifically that if you've never prestiged as I haven't, is "If you’ve been collecting perks on your character and levelling them up, you’ll gain a number of prestige levels based on how many perks and perk tiers you've acquired"

I'm taking this to mean of I've got a non-prestige Killer who's fully perked out, they'll get credit towards Prestige based on how many perks I've got and how high I've got them.

With that in mind, do you think my best option to prestige David and Bubba now and make sure they're set to go, or load them up with everything I can between now and that update and hope it's enough to count towards P3 when the time comes?

I would get all the perks. No reason to lose your items to prestige when the new prestige will not punish you in that way.

you should prestige the characters that you use corresponding teachable perks.

For example, If you use Iron will as a perk on all your survivors, you should P3 Jake to Unlock Iron will at Tier 3. If your Jake is not P3 by end update, you will not have Jake's perk on the other survivors.

The killer is the same. Suppose you use Hex:Ruin,BBQ,Pain Resonance, Pop goes weasel on Leatherface. You must P3 Clown, Hag and Artist to use Ruin, PR and Pop. If all your killer are p0, You will have zero teachable perks from other killers when update to bloodweb happens.

That's not necessarily true, given the catch up mechanic described where earned perks can go towards prestige.

My thinking is more "is it better to level to 50 3 times or just level at 50 for a long as it takes?"

I am not sure either, I kept Bubba at prestige 1 to unlock every perk on him as he is my main. But apparently we will get rewarded for getting to p3 before the update. But a developer said if you already have everything, it is better to wait.

So... I am not sure if I am supposed to take that as the "legacy" reward is gimmicky and not worth it, or if they meant solely based on bloodpoint value. I never wanted to lose all my cakes and map offerings, so I kind of want to wait, but it would be weird to be number one Leatherface in my heart and not have his unique legacy item. Albeit, they stole my faces from me, so I guess it hardly matters.

If you care about the prestige rewards then I'd get at least one killer and survivor to P3. You could always wait a bit for them to reveal what the rewards are before you decide

I got all perks on all killers and I only prestiged one cause I didn't see any value in doing otherwise.

I'm a bit concerned with the progression update. I think it's a good change but I know that BHVR can mess up a lot with this kind of update (legacy cosmetics and Bubba faces to name a few).

I don't want to lose my full perks completion on all killers. And I sure don't want them to give me zillions of bp to spend with a complete reset of my progression.

The week before the update I will screenshot every perks I have on every character to have a proof of my account actual state.

Consider Bubba is also licenced. They didn't give any information about licenced killers/survivors and if the reward will count them in..

Looking at responses I may try a mix and match. My David isn't at 50 yet so I'll Prestige him now, while I perk out Leatherface. Can compare how it works out between them while being able to use Bubba for matches/dailies.

    Thank you, everyone who responded.
