After what the Legion turned out to be, I’m not too exited for the next killer

Honestly, I had 0 excitement or hype for the legion for some reason but I kinda think that they are going to do a good job with this killer. I don't want to say I am hyped but yeah this is not going to be a terrible killer.
I hope for a killer that has map pressure, and high mobility that requires skill from both sides to deal with. I don't much care about his 'tier', not bottom tier and a fun killer is enough for me. It would be great if we get another high tier killer like hillbilly though.

How many times did the devs actually fail us when creating a killer? Just 1 if we are completely honest and that's Freddy.
Legion actually has people who enjoy and have fun playing him, even tho he is not balanced. And Im not talking about playing against that killer, Im talking about playing as that killer. I personally have a lot of fun trying to hit as many survivors as I can with only 1 frenzy shot.
Dont throw the house off the window because they didnt create a killer that fits everyone's playstyle. Remember Myers, Hillbilly, Nurse, Pig, Trapper, Spirit, Hag and all the others.
You can forget about Freddy tho...5 -
I like Legion, it's why I decided to get back into the game after about 8 months of not playing & switched from survivor to killer. Legion's the first killer I ever played for more than one round.
I play Spirit more now because she's easier and survivors make more mistakes against her, but I'm excited to see what they come up with next.

I just hope it's a killer both sides can enjoy, which is most of the killer right now. Only a select few are fun for one and not the other at all, and that is really because of the people that play them, not the killer itself.

Wow a full year of Killers and they had one bad apple. GG ######### devs can't do anything right I'm going back to F13.
Can we stop acting like Legion suddenly means that the game is dead and beyond repair? Legion is one out of 14 Killers. They're the newest Killer in the game and have therefor had the least testing, meaning that the devs had the least devs to balance the Killer around. Every new Killer is going to have a degree of imbalance: Spirit was kinda shmeh when they released her and then she got overbuffed to the point of being A+ tier. Clown is still littered with bugs that people ignore because "his power is good" and they'd rather concentrate on more "broken" Killers. (And the fact that Clown is boring in a lot of people's eyes and he's rather unpopular as a result.)
Michael Myers came before (pre-buff) Hag. Freddy came before Pig. Spirit came before Legion. There will be hits and there will be misses. But Hag's rework proves that a Killer can always be salvaged. Don't say that something can't be fixed when it's been out for less than a month.3 -
I love the concept of The Legion. They are my favorite killers to play as.
Also you have to remember that there is a thing called trial and error. Not every concept the devs come up with is going to be mind blowing. They take the risk on putting it out there then wait to hear back from the community.
I constanly see people complaining about the fact that it took them long to finally decide to rework Freddy.... well duh! There’s a process in how things are handled. You can’t just jump gun. It’s awesome to see people tell other people on how to do their job. How about you go meet the criteria then go apply to work at BHVR.3 -
When you scrap your original idea for something and rush a new idea out something like the legion is what you get.... i'm excited for the new killer because it can't be worse then legion so3

Like I thought hags was bad on release but legions chapter makes hags look amazing.

Dont get me wrong the dev team has amazing artists but this chapter just smells of half assed work.
Due to the failure of deathgarden I can bet you they reused assets from it.1 -
Im not too mad about Legion. Granted they could have done much better, like integrating the fact they are 4 different people into the gameplay rather than just making them skins. But still a nice addition, I dont have major gripes against it.
I would consider the Leatherface DLC the worst one. A Killer that has a similar power to another already existing Killer, sharing almost every add-on, no new realm (not even a single map), no new Survivor. And worst of all, a low tier Killer from the start that was left abandoned and never touched again. The only redeeming fact is his perks.

This is what the legion was, high map pressure with tons of mobility. The legion was basically a combo of the pig and the nurse. Yet many considered him weak, complained and asked for buffs.
And this is what we have now, a killer without counter-play.

Ah, this cracks me up every time... "wee, last killer is an unfun one, this game is dead, devs are useless and the world's probably over too"
Some people on this forum are such cheap drama queens1 -
Spirit is amazing, I love her character design and the way she plays. She’s considered high tier while Legion is considered mid-low tier for others.
Dead by daylight killer mechanic was constructed to focus on one survivor during a chase which makes the whole Legion thing a bit different. I’m guessing they wanted to experience and explore their game mechanics a lot more which is a good thing! Learning from your mistakes is a good thing and so is experiencing things.
However. I personally think that all killers are viable if you know how to play them properly. Some killers need a little more help with good add ons however (Legion) for example while others need a buff/rework in some areas (Freddy).
I personally can’t wait to see who’s going to be the next killer!!1 -
I only hope the devs stop putting those artificial wesknesses into the next killer.
Freddys 7 seconds, invisible sirvivors fpr spirit, that missing scratches for legion.
I hope the next killer will ne something like billy. M1+sttomg abilty without artifical weaknesses.0 -

We'll probably get a insta down killer. Same map pressure as everyone else. Low to mid tier. Something steampunk based. Victorian age. Maybe a mad scientist. The guy that was in the hollowed blight event.1 -

Honestly if Legion didnt have Unrelenting 9000 in his kit and was punished for missed hits it wouldn't be that bad to play against.

I am worried. The developer's have shown that they want to make "FUN" killers, not valid or good ones. The next one's gonna be even worse.
2 -
I think one of the devs (Janick, I think) mentioned when they talked about Legions design, that Spirit and Legion were very complicated killers in power design and that the next one won't be as complicated as them. Which of course doesn't mean that the next chapter will have a great killer. But I hope that means that the upcoming one will be more straight forward design wise similar to Clown with his bottles.

A killer who heals the survivors by hitting them?

Spirit was such a good Killer, on both sides, She brought in a fun play style and guessing games for survivors.
Legion was just the opposite, He was designed to be fun to both but ended up being one of the most annoying killers. He was also designed not to be viable in comparison to some of the other killers which is it's own problem entirely.
I really hope they have learned from Legion but I'll wait till the next killer to make that judgement. and I hope to god they don't purposely make another weak Killer, It'd be nice to see killer variety at higher ranks.

I will disagree actually.
When I said high map pressure and mobility, I was referring to the killers like hillbilly, nurse, and spirit.
His mobility is almost nonexistent when it comes to crossing the map. Map pressure with mending? Kind of true but his base mechanic was so bad that the little pressure he exerted didn't mean anything.
This is why I said a killer like hillbilly. I don't think it is gonna be something like legion because they won't try to introduce a new mechanic like deep wounds this time because of the legion.

If you lose against certain killers maybe you need to hone tactics, because "The Legion" while not the best killer has his tactics.
Not sure about that one bud.
I have lost to plenty of great killer players, but the match was fun, simply because of the chase. It can be done right. And when it's a chase against a Nurse, Billy, Or Huntress, it seems to be way more fun, even if I lose.
Losing to a Huntress or a Nurse, simply means they were better than me, they practiced hard, they deserve the win. A killer like Legion isn't like that. I don't have fun against a Legion, it's just annoying. I have more fun against Doctor's even though half of them tunnel to daylight.
So yes, both sides can have fun. Fun is subjective. I may be one of the few, but it is possible, and you can only have fun if you want to. If you don't you won't.

Freddy sucks for both, legion sucks for survior (and maybe killer), doctor sucks for survivor, clown sucks for survivor, pig sucks for survivor. Ironically all the bad killers are the most boring to play against

The select few I refer to are Pig, Legion, Freddy and LeatherFace, these are the killers with commonly unfun games at least for me, tunnel, hard camps, slugs, from these players constantly. Regardless if I actually did anything to trigger them or not. Oh well
Wraith, Trapper, and Doctor are a toss up. Some are some aren't. I think Wraith and Doc's are more likely to be the worst of the 3 here though, trappers usually don't.
But Hag, Billy, Spirit, Huntress, Nurse, Myers, and Clown for example all bring great matches most of the time. At least, they are more likely to than the rest of the cast. They generally bring a funner experience. Not saying every time, but they are more likely to. Which I would expect, because these are some of the harder killers to play well, and when you do, you see results, especially with Spirit, Nurse, and Huntress. Either way, they are all pretty fun to go against, and I don't usually mind losing to one of the ones listed here.
That's how it is for me at least, fun is subjective.

Just remember that for every Freddy there will be a Spirit.
In my opinion they just went into the wrong direction when creating the Legion, starting with the stalking mechanic and ending up with this thing. Legion needs a rework in my opinion, it's just not fun to go against them.
