Why was wraith nerfed for seemingly no reason?
No I'm not talking about the shadownerf he got in a recent update, I'm talking about the post cloak lunge speed boost. It got nerfed from 1.25s to 1s.
Similar to the pinhead add on changes I cannot understand this nerf.
He got a buff so he wasn't bottom tier anymore, which made him mid tier, then got nerfed back down to bottom tier?????????? Now he's barely played anymore, which is a shame because I really liked speed boost mindgames.

Because, like Cenobite, Wraith was mediocre at intermediate and high MMRs, and a god of death in lower MMRs and for new players.
Yeah, I'm still bitter about it - but what can you do? He was so damned near perfect, and they nerfed him.

True, you know what? Why not give Blight another really good add-on that gives him 64 more rushes and a flamethrower.

Because having a lunge half the size of Mothers Dwelling is EW3+Coup Myers or Nurse thing not Wraiths.
P.D. Yes I know Nurse lunge is the same as the rest, but the way she is coded and moves makes her look like she has insane lunge, bigger than Myers at EW3.

As of my understanding, there were some tiles where counterplay was impossible. The only places where you would want counterplay to be impossible is out in the open. Going to a tile only to be downed faster than if you were holding shift+W(without being able to do anything about it), when there is an interest in making shift+w less interesting is simply not a good decision.
Nerfing it from 1.25 to 1 second made counterplay possible on those tiles, making it more interesting for survivors to go towards a tile, rather than holding shift+w. They can still mess up, or the killer can still outplay them, its just no longer a low risk(or in those cases, no risk) guaranteed hit.
For Pinhead, arguably the same was true. Guaranteed hits with very low risk or maybe even no risk.
I would love to see compensation in terms of turning the 0.25 seconds into an addon instead. Like, making Shadow Dance - White basekit and changing that addon into post-lunge speed boost. Because cloaking with Shadow Dance White and then breaking a pallet is slower than regularly breaking the pallet, it doesnt start being beneficial unless you break 3 or more things. So swapping the effects, IMO, would have been great.

Can we nerf the Pig while we are it? You know, just to make sure that playing low tier killers feels even more miserable against any survivor that's not a newbie.

Wraith is not the only killer who got unjustified nerf.
Deathslinger, Hillbilly, Freddy(His rework in 2019 was terrible) got massive nerf.
Demogorogon, Twins, Nemesis, Cenobite's certain addons got nerfed.
I am very questionable of BHVR's killer nerfs because they just make more killers unpopular and weak.

Her lunge range looks like that because she has a very long window to keep lunging after a blink. As for range, post-uncloak Wraith has always lunged further than Myers.

because he is the noob stomper, the most regular killer you will see at the lowest level where no one knows what they are doing and his kill rate was probably inflated due to these stats, I mean wraith + noed is like a meme combo at this point, similar to Bubba and basement.
New survivors barely know how to use a pallet properly and if they attempted to loop his lunge would have gotten to them anyway.

Brain dead easy with 0 skill required. He dominates in pick rate and low-mid mmr survivors. I think it was well needed. Thats the only killer I will agree with the nerf

I know why. It's because of:
Incessant camping and tunneling in low mmr,
Wraith is so easy to use in low mmr and so effective against newbies that most my low mmr games i'd have to take aggro and keep this guy from beating the crap out of my weaker team that it becomes a habit of mine to bodyblock, teabag and clicky just to keep this guy away from the other 3 potatos who can only press m1.

Because it was too strong in low MMR, and did absolutely nothing to help Wraith at high MMR. Wraith deserves love, but I don't think it should be in the form of a speed boost. I'd rather see something like giving him a faster uncloak.
That being said, I don't play Wraith so I'm not really in a position to suggest what he needs.

I main wraith i have to say am not against the nerf the wraith got , for me was like whatever, the lunge before was insanely good sometimes not gonna lie, but was miserable to play against with double speed addons on top (was like forcing everyone to predrop stuff on some short loops or getting perfect stuns to compensate).
am more upset by the fact that they nerfed wraith but blight and nurse still have waaaaay more stronger basekit powers and addons that him. (but nah lets nerf a low tier killer instead of busted killer addons like Alch ring for blight) 😐️
