What survivors would you level up first as a new player?
i got 110 hours of game now,
i already max. up David king for unbreakable and were gonna live forever to make gold
also finished bill overbeck for his perks
im thinking about what next ? i currently run DH, were gonna live forever, kindred and renewal
any suggestions ? ideally self preservation survival perks, like to run away, hide, etc

No question in my mind, it is: David, Laurie, then Bill. After that is whatever. Thats five meta perks between them. Maybe Meg or Mikhaila next.

Assuming we're choosing from the default survivors, Meg for SB and Adrenaline.

You have choices, personally i would go for bill to get unbreakable and borrowed time. Jake would be a good if you want to get iron will for stealth play. If you find yourself getting tunneled offen you could go with laurie to get decisive strike.

yeah i had meg on gamepass, so for sprint burst and adrenaline ? im kinda confused on how to use sprint burst, you cant use DH if you use that right ?

Correct, since they are all exhaustion perks, it is best to only take either SB or DH into a trial. Adrenaline is sort of an outlier cause you mainly care for the health state after the last gen pops, but it does cause exhaustion too which is something to be aware of If you are gonna run SB or DH with Adrenaline.

So if I'm understanding correctly you got David, Bill, and are currently leveling up Meg. At this point there's no essential needs to level up, those are the essential threes, now comes subjectivity.
Since you like self-preservation survival perks, here's my suggestions
- Jake (Basegame; Free) for Iron Will
- Kate (9000 Iri shards) for Windows of Opportunity and Dance With Me
- Feng (Free on Console) for Alert and Lithe

Windows of opportunity. It lets you see auras of all the windows, pallets and breakable walls nearby.
Or should I not say nearby, because at tier 3 it has radius of whooping 32m.

When I first started out on PC, I immediately levelled up Meg, Bill, Laurie, and Claudette for their perks. I would say Meg or Bill would be the best to level up since all 3 of their perks are pretty solid.

David King to 35 so you can get teachable We're Gonna Live Forever for the blood points.

Dwight has useful perks that I still use after thousands of hours. Pick a main and just unlock the teachables. Claudette is where I would go next for botany knowledge.

David, Bill, and Meg would be my first three.
WGLF, BT, and SB are great off the bat (also Unbreakable, Adrenaline, and Q&Q are pretty good).
I actually never use DS, and don't find it all that necessary, and OoO is crap now, so I'd put Laurie down my list a ways.
But otoh, if they're about to nuke the meta, who knows?

I like all of Kate's perks... They woo me.
But yeah, I wouldn't buy Laurie with the Anniversary Shrine update upcoming. Just grab DS from the shop. She ain't worth 5 dollars.

Yeah, good call. If they don''t like the character, shrine is the way to go.

When I first got dbd, I took otz's advice to play feng first because of technican. Alert is also great for killer tracking and because you'll have low skilled teammates chucking all the pallets, and lithe is great as a getaway perk to make distance when you're in a chase.
