10 games with a new Killer all 4 escape every time, when will I get fair matches?

    Probably never?

I would kinda like to know how is match making supposed to work now to be honest. I am sure it's not just based on MMR since their last change like it used to.

Since that last change my games got harder even on killers that I made sure to have low MMR.

They softened the matchmaking parameters since the implementation of the new MMR system already because the top MMR did wait too long in queue and only had sweat matches.

Aka it's close to free for all MMR wise again.

    Good luck

Addendum: killer character specific MMR is btw also more than anything just lip service. If you compare the system to a point ELO system, your new killer is starting at a middle value of MMR and/or not more than 200/300 ELO points below or above your other or your best killer characters. So it is basically useless and you will have many bad matches with a new and maybe mechanically demanding killer.

And as a bonus, switching killer during pregame lobby is still no longer possible despite all those promises.

Killer character specific MMR used to work kinda well before.

It doesn't now when it is free for all again tho.

I had killers where I was keeping MMR low (Pig) and killers where I was doing my best to win (Oni). It was easy to see a difference. Not anymore tho

I would give up individual killer MMR to be able to change killers in lobby.

Throw me to the lions on a new killer IDC, but gimme the ability to change killers if I want.

I guess I'm being hit by the all-your-Killers-get-dragged-up-by-your-top-Killer system. I play a lot with just a few Killers so I get screwed trying out new ones.

It would become kinda hell for SWF groups. S tier killer festival all day.

I usually watch second monitor so I have no idea what I am playing against, so it wouldn't change much for me.

One of the reasons why matchmaking is such a difficult issue to fix for BHVR is that during the evening the survivors quite literally outnumber the killers by 20 to 1, not 4 to 1. So matchmaking goes whack.

In the morning the killers outnumber survivors by something like 4 to 1, for a while and then it wanes off and becomes 50/50 as the day progresses until midday when it flips and then the indifference grows till the middle of the night.

If they really wanted to cut down queue times you know what would help? Some way to prevent killers from slugging for 4 minutes. A surrender option for survs. That kicks in 20 seconds after a certain condition is met, like all survs being either downed or on hook. Of course this could deny the killer hooks, so they would have to fix that by making the surr option count as hooking or something.

Or, maybe a surr option for killers once gens are done. Yes, you can go to gates, but that's 2 minutes extra to every single game the killer has already given up. It's a lot of wasted time.

I honestly think matchmaking is okay right now. I notice there's a much larger disparity in skill, some players are quite good in a match, some are very new. Reminds me of how it was before SBMM.

Agreed. Also it's a band aid fix for some killers being stronger than others. If you have strong M1 game you should be fine with a weaker killer unless you've been sweating to max mmr with the strongest killers and builds.

If you’re playing during peaks times (you’ll know this if your killer queue time is short/instant), it really doesn’t matter what your MMR score is. You’ll just be matched with the next survivor group in line because the system prioritizes matchmaking times over “fairness”.

This isn’t really a matter of the system itself being broken, but more because of the fact that too few people want to play killer because it’s stressful and it’s difficult. A lot of people in your position (constantly getting zero kills) will likely give up.

The current matchmaking seems inconsistent. 75% of my games seem to be against far higher skilled players with 4 escapes. And the rest is 15% 1-2k games(so really what the majority should be with balanced mm) and 10% 3-4k.

Should really be 40-60% 1-2k games if the matchmaking was at least semi decent. But at this rate doesn't really encourage you to play much when you consistently get matchmaking with a near guaranteed loss. Much rather have long queues and actually get around 50% 1-2k games.

And honestly with fair matchmaking the games are just more fun even if you get 4 escapes. Games that are closer but are a loss are a lot more enjoyable than the sweat fests less skilled players like myself(incoming just get good comments) get dragged into most of the time.

Honestly don't understand why they won't do this. They'd get a lot more new players stay if they actually made it possible to learn the game without being steamrolled every game.
