You are not losing perks, add-ons etc. So it is not that bad. You can start p3 with characters who has good perks. And then you can play all characters while prestige others.

I have almost all chars on level 50.

So when the update comes, i can prestige, don´t lose my stuff and can immediately have all the perks on all other chars.

I see no reason to prestige anyone now.

The new "rewards" aren't going to be worth grinding for so don't stress it.

If you just have one survivor you like to play, you can still level new survivors to P1 for the teachables and grind tier 2 and 3 on your main.

Having all that character's perks unlocked on Tier III on all your other characters forever seems worth enough to me.

Yeah, but you'll be able to do that whenever. No reason to stress about getting everyone to P3 before the change for these unknown "rewards" that have been confirmed to not be cosmetics.

If anything, it's arguably better to avoid prestiging anyone until the change goes live so as to get the most bang for your buck.

i have like 5 characters with maxed perks but not prestige because I didn't really like them or they had better cosmetics in the store, from the looks of the detail post. it looks like there will be a "catch up mechanic", I think that just means that everyone will get the prestige based on how many perks they have already unlocked. say it takes 2.8million to get one prestige, then if you have all the perks from every released character ever, than say that total number costs like 28m. then it sounds like they will just give you prestige level for every 50 levels it costs like the 2.8m. so like prestige 9-10.

at least that is from what i understand it.

when dread comes out i will probably p3 haddie and dredge and not bother with unlocking their perks on the other characters bw. and just spend bp on characters I actually like playing. because if everything goes to plan in 3 months when the midchapter launches, both of their perks will be immediately available on all the 50 something characters. that will save a lot of bp.

If you have their tier 3 perks unlocked, they'll automatically be put to P3. Any characters at P3 before the change will receive some sort of reward that signifies that.

Unless I've misunderstood something you'll have to if you want new perks for your characters once the change roles out.

Which is way better than wasting your time trying to look for them in each character.

In a recent thread, someone was complaining about still looking for BBQ3.

iI think the only difference from now on is that the teachable perks will be influenced by the prestige of the characters. for example: if you have P2 David, Dead Hard will already come out tier 2 in the bloodweb of the other survivors. if you have P3 it will come out in the other bloodwebs as tier 3

Nope. If you get David to Prestige 3, Dead Hard will show up in every character's INVENTORY at tier 3. Same goes for Prestige 1 or 2 with tiers 1 and 2. The perks will already be unlocked and able to be equipped. This goes for all teachables.

If you prestige every character to 3, the only perks you'll need to unlock on new characters are the base perks. "Kindred, Spine Chill, etc"

I've never bothered with prestige before and I'm not going to bother with it now. Some possible and ill-defined rewards in the future do absolutely nothing for me.

I can wait. I don´t think the rewards will be that special.

    I use different cosmetics anyway.

The biggest problem for me was always the loss of everything.

And if i prestige then and unlock the perks even at tier 1 it is better.
