Yeah, it also censored a complete sentence from me. I faced a Killer who probably had high Ping, private Profile. So I asked "Where are you from?"... And it got censored completely. Same with "Where do you live?"...
Like, a normal question, yet the whole sentence was censored.

If you play an m1 killer you should not get surprised if you get absolutelly clapped, you asked for it, and regarding the bm, from my experience each time you get dunked on you will get trashtalked and bmd so its a given at this point and ill expect it from anyone who beats me in dbd.
How to avoid getting bmd? Well avoid getting dunked on, get better and start winning.

good sportsmen dont mean it salty, you see handshakes regularly in pro sports, no matter where. but the dbd community is not pro in any way, 80% are salty lil b****s. I mean, are you not allowed to say anything? U really mean that? U have to wait for the losing team first? Like you may not say "have a nice day" or "good luck next match" you would always read it like "hope you find your skill next match, tehe"?
what is the winning side meant to say in your opinion? "sorry we stomped you, we are ass for doing so, we should have played with you, letting you hope for as long as possible before we strike the winning goal"? or just say nothing, lowering heads like they are guilty of anything?

Uff, if it has become socially accepted to get cussed at and shittalked if you don't beat your opponent, then damn, i have to question if that's a world i want to keep living in.
How to avoid BM? Maybe have a shred of sportsmanshipt and remember your education, instead of throwing all manners into the wind as soon as you are anonymous. (No you personally but everyone)

"Be graceful in Victory and defeat" aka say GG as the loser and read the mood as the winner and just move on.
And DBD doesn't have to be pro for this. The similarity stays, be it in DBD, lol, r6s and all pvp games, sports/video/cards/boars/whatever.

GG literally means "good game", do you really believe someone getting looped for 5 gens straight and then seeing the guy he has been chasing for 5 minutes go away is having a good game? He isnt having fun, he is being humilliated, I dont blame him or the other players, I blame the MMR for making such a match but that person is not having fun at all and there is no need to say "good game" to someone being beaten that bad, it sounds condescending, you know what most people respond to those kind of ggs? "yeah for you" then they get barraged by "ez" "baby" "noob" and stuff like that, people saying "gg" after a stomp usually say it to add insult to injury.
Whats the winning side meant to say on my opinion after a stomp? you already answered for me: "have a nice day", "good luck next match" or "sorry this matchmaking wasnt right", those things are not bad manners, you are not rubbing anything nor suggesting getting massacred is entertaining in any way, either you give them best wishes or emphatize they got screwed by an error on a system, Ive even seen a "bg, this wasnt a fair match" and nobody got tilted at anyone.
Take on account, Im talking ONLY about matches where one side dominates the other entirely like OP talked about, as I already said, close matches or similar a "gg" is not condescending in any way, both teams played and one has to win but if its close "gg" can be interpreted as "you were a challenge to beat".

Good game can be offered as a commiseration too, its polite sportsmanship that says no hard feelings any outcome can be a good game. More so in a real life setting as in after a sporting event. You shake hands no matter what the outcome was. Sportsmanship. Is the winner taunting you by shaking your hand post game no.
I hate to say it but what you describe sounds like the very glass ego I'm talking about. Many people say GG win or loss.

Good for the winners that they are good sports but they still don't consider the mood of the loser in not wanting any pity or like in the other thread much less advice.

You can read it that way, but I think it is totally wrong to insinuate BM if someone says gg. Best example is OhTofu who ALWAYS says gg after every match, no matter how much he oth they got stomped. You can say that you don't regard a game to be good if it goes like this, but "gg" is a phrase more than anything "literal" to say after a match, and insinuating bad intentions for saying this is simply wrong if you say it is teh default way of interpretation. Sure there are people that mean it as salty comment, but saying gg is not by definition BM

Again, this is the loser's decision to eat it like that. If someone comes to them expressing respect and they react like bad losers, it is up to the loser to feel bad and ignore the respect, it is not BM to say gg.
Tbh I would rather say it is respectless to say nothing, would feel like they express "not worth talking to them, they were no competition".

I say gg, gl next match after every match unless the entire team BM'ed (when playing Killer) or the Killer hard core camped and tunneled (when playing Survivor and I do mean hard core) regardless of if I stomped, got stomped or any result in between.
It's a polite way to show respect for your opponent without whom you wouldn't have had a game.

Unless it appeared to be a good game for BOTH sides, I don't say gg and consider it rude if you do.
And for those arguing how streamers like OhTofu apparently always say gg: what's the point? That just makes it have zero meaning at that point.

i saw the post and i was immediately thinking this
anytime i stomp on survivors, i never get a gg, rarely
but if survivors stomp me its instant ggs from everyone LOL
please note, i always say gg to my fellow survivors or killers, regardless if they tunneled, or I lose from swf etc.

And j still think that the winner always has to consider the feeling of the loser (if they have sportsmanship) when a game ends in a one-sided stomp, the premise all this discussion is based on. I don't care about close or semi close games, i am talking about 4e with 0/1 hooks, 4ks at 5 gens, 10/0 in soccer, 25/0 in volleyball and so on.
The loser never wants to hear anything from the winner and the winner doesn't have anything productive to say to the loser.
Anything else is just for self satisfaction of the winners like "i was just nice/a good sport".
No, you didn't read the room/atmosphere and didn't consider the feelings of the loser.
But i guess i won't convince you about my pov from the loser side and you won't convince me about yours so let's just end it here.

I always say "ggs lmao" unless it was a particularly unfun match and I just want to move on. If you're so upset about losing that you suspect the person offering you a digital handshake is BM'ing, you're probably the one with the problem.

I tend to just go by a "I say gg if I very seriously feel it was a good game, or my opponent(s) said it first" at this point. Which still leaves me saying a bunch of gg as people seem to do it quite often.
And I'm someone that finds it straight up wild people view it as anything more than a very basic "thanks for playing" kinda statement. Probably because I've been saying it after multiplayer matches online for a lot of years at this point.
People worrying someone is saying gg "ironically" or something is the most confusing. This is a game where you can spam GGEZ KEKW UNINSTALL SCRUB at 10 lines per second after every single match for a year without ever getting banned. If people want to troll they don't have to be subtle about it. If someone means to say git gud, they're gonna say git gud.

Saying 'gg' is being polite.
I usually say 'gg wp all' or 'gg wp' in all my games, survivor and killer.
If the game was truly awful (and you know these happen for various reasons), I'll still say gg.
The only time I'm silent is if I'm getting out of the match early and I don't want to wait several minutes.

Saying gg after stomping a survivor team at 4 gens or 4 man escape with only 1-2 hooks is no different than saying GG EZ imo. That’s why I never say anything unless a game was really close and exciting

I think what OP is saying is when you stomp a team, it’s not really a “good game.” Well, at least not for the opposing team. It’s borderline insulting to some. Like rubbing salt in the wound. Some people would just prefer the opponent say nothing at all when they dominate.
‘Unfortunately a lot of jerks have taken “GG” and turn it into a negative, which causes doubt in sincerity whenever someone says it.

- wrong, I even stated above that I feel exactly the other way. This is an assumption you generalize on your own feelings and as I said before, in soccer and other sports you see this behavior regularly.
And you ignore what I said about "gg" being a phrase used to express respect. Good Sportsmanship is about respect to each other, no matter about the outcome.
I can just repeat, everyone can feel about it how he wants, but the OP is about "gg is bad manner" and that is totally not the case. You say "everyone" but this is simply wrong. You may feel like being taunted but this is not what your opponent tries to express. This is actually not to discuss about. Saying gg in itself is no BM, it is a phrase to express respect. There is just a minority of d***s being ironically about it and actually use it as BM and a majority of bad losers interpreting it like this.

"gg" can mean two things. it's primary meaning is - this was a good game, thanks for playing with me. It has somewhat also taken on the meaning of an acknowledgement. And "ggwp" also, as we know.
Context.
Etiquette.
If you as killer have just absolutely stomped all over me and my team, it was obviously not a good game for me and my team, it was only well played by one of us and I am not requiring your tokenistic acknowledgement because I am busy licking my wounds and you come across as slightly arrogant and condescending, even if you don't mean it that way. It's wildly obvious what's just occured - I don't need to be reminded.
Saying "gg" as killer in this scenario is not technically bad manners but as the terminology goes, it's perhaps not "best practice" and is a little disrespectful towards someone who is not you. It's just about taking those extra few moments of thought.
Context.
Etiquette.
If you are a killer who has demolished a team of survivors, the best thing to do is just say nothing. Or perhaps you can take the extra few moments for a sentence that is slightly respectful or acknowledging. Or say nothing.
But on a personal note, I really dislike when in a game where my team has been absolutely demolished, you as a killer then come out with "gg" or worse "ggwp" and I've even had "gg wp :)". Don't. If you must type, don't be thought of as a bit of a douche bag.

Anyone who played any team sport would know its courtesy and sportsmanship to gg and move on to the next one, regardless of how one side performed or felt about the outcome. I don't see how gg or ggwp is an issue, but this is the DBD forums.

GG is a toxic way to provoke the other party, nothing else, GG is valid when you really have a competitive game, a 2k, a nice recovery, or something, not when 1 side stomp the other side, it wasnt a good game

I don't care if it annoys or not, I say gg every game, that's just sportmanship for me, lose or win it dosn't affect it.
If I play killer and I crush the game, when I say gg it's like saying I did good, when I get crushed it's like saying you did good.

The comunity is filled with nothing but toxicity and a lot of mean people, at least this thread lets people opine about what they think can be perceived as bad manners.
About the Spirit thing, I played a few games of Legion because of the challenge and dear lord I felt DIRTY, what an awful experience those poor bastards had to endure... I even apologized for it and one thanked me because "that game was a lot of things and not good ones..."

Yeah I ran into a group like that who was chill and glad that I said sorry about playing spirit so hard like that. We eventually had a good laugh because 3 people in the lobby and me all had "boon: >INSERT SOMETHING LEWD<" as our names.
