Am I going to get banned for throwing dozens of games to do certain challenges?
Pretty sure my teammates are not having a good time.

I have played 8hooks/0kills killer for months and nothing has happened. Throwing many games by letting survivor intentionally escape.
But i also played for max gameplay/BP while doing my challenges semi efficient without camping/tunneling/slugging.

No.
For certain challenges there is no other way.

TBH i started letting no mither people go because of the challenge, and i don't want them to suffer through another game and making their and their teammates' games worse.
I did it in full swf sabo squad, so it wasn't that hard, but for solo Q that challenge i know may be horror. So I just let them go, finish that challenge and don't suffer anymore

It's unlikely but I can see it happening if all the survivors report you every single game. I doubt most survivors care enough to do that though.

I feel like half the player base would get banned.

Same. I've been letting No Mither gamers go bc it's not an easy challenge.

You won't get banned, but this is why I wish there was a separate quickplay queue and a ranked queue where Rift challenges were disabled. Because these Rift challenges are making my survivor experience unplayable given how many teammates are throwing for them.

I mean, there's throwing and there's griefing. If you aren't actually doing stuff that's directly killing your mates, I wouldn't be too worried. Just don't suicide on every hook.

Only if the challenge is done or can no longer be completed >_>;;

If you're just gonna suicide after finishing/flunking your challenge, I have to wonder whether you're still interested in playing normally at all.

You still play normally other than that so it's definetely not bannable quite opposite actually. I sometimes farm and usually it gives good amount bp if survivors want to do it too. I sometimes just need break from killing. Everyone should just play for fun, try harding for 4K can be very stressful. That's why I don't try it my aim is 3K.

Unfortunately, majority of the tomb challenges are throwing the game, such as the no mither one, you literally have to be so selfish to get that one

Clearly they WANT players to torture themselves and piss of their team mates or they wouldn't have made such stupid and outlandish challenges in the FIRST place.

If they had a problem with players handicapping themselves with perks or throwing the game to take protection hits and open chests and follow the killer's shadow like some weird lost puppy, they shouldn't have designed challenges to require that.
It's obnoxious, and I have to apologize to like 8 sets of gamers who I cursed with perkless No Mither games yesterday, but it's totally their fault this is a thing, so...

I'm working my way through challenges.
I'm looking at "kill the obsession X times" now.
The most efficient way of doing this challenge is simply find the person and tunnel and camp them and done. This is a TERRIBLE experience for a survivor. Yes yes, play normally and eventually you'll get it, I know; I want the challenge done in a reasonable timeframe, not hoping that the person you do kill might or might not be the right one many more times in a row.
I'd be ok if X was made a very low number to keep this to a minimum.
I know I'm talking to myself. It won't be. "Escape through the hatch using the key twice" and "Use Dark Sense 4 times", "Stun the killer 12 times" still exist, so... yeah.
Less focus on cosmetics, more focus on QoL improvements.

There's actually a more efficient way to do those challenges. For the hook the obsession x times challenge, bring Furtive Chase and find the obsession. Catch them, proxy camp them, and then go after whoever unhooks them for more than 3 potential obsession hooks per match. For the kill the obsession x times challenge, you want to bring Nemesis (the perk, not the killer.) Kill the obsession and then intentionally eat a pallet from your next target. Probably better to use a killer that survivors won't be afraid to pallet stun, so nobody that can hit over pallets, but you can potentially get 4 obsession kills per game. You also don't necessarily have to go for the obsession at the start because it's not too difficult to make your current target the obsession.

I mean in theory someone could get banned, but only if they actively get other survivors screwed over in the process. For example if they actively sandbag a survivor that unhooked them earlier to get the "unhook someone that unhooked you earlier" challenge done and doing the sandbagging in a bannable way like blocking them in a corner until crows bring the killer over, or in general bannably sandbag people to get survivors to unhook, or try to work together with the killer to get this done. But I can't say I've ever seen this in my life, lol.
But in general obviously no one is gonna get banned just because they spend all game doing totems, chests or trying to hide within 10 meters of the killer. That's no different to how someone won't get banned for not saving someone even if it's 100% safe to do so, "work together... or not!" and all of that.

If they banned people who play sub-optimally, we wouldn't even have a playerbase. Obviously, try not to throw so hard you ######### up 3 other people's fun, but you shouldn't be flat out worried.

Don't sandbag. Don't team with the opposing side to grief other players. Advance your objective however inefficiently. That's pretty much all it's required of anyone to stay out of trouble.

I think I've clearly stated that I'm prioritizing the tome objectives over 'normal' gameplay.
Think I'm -26 atm on Survivor :)

Well see how the match goes if there is still 3-4 gens you don't have to finish obsession yet and you can bit chase others but if they are good survivors who loop well and do gens then tunneling and camping is only option.

I appreciate people like you. That's how I got the challenge done. Most people I've come across just tunnel the no mither users out of the game first because they're easy targets
