Cross Progression?
I'm really fed up with how Cross Progression seems to have gone nowhere. I can't play this game on Xbox One S as much as I did on my friends account on PS5.
That Version of the Game was so smooth, which makes me even more frustrated when i go back to my account. This Feature is the only reason why I'm currently struggling with enjoying the game and it seriously makes me consider to drop it in the future.
Behaviour if you see this, please let us know about when Cross-Progression is coming out and whether or not it will come out on certain platforms.
Thank you for reading this, whoever you are.

There are currently no plans of Cross-Progression from Xbox-any other platform afaik.
Switch Cross-Progression was announced but it, much like Console Optimization, has fallen into the void.

Why won't they announce it tho?

Becuase there is no cross-progression between Consoles in the works. They are currently unable to add it.
Switch Cross-progression was announced and then fell into limbo.

Cross progression is not something that is our decision alone as it is reliant on our partners also. We are aware that the community really wants to have cross progression implemented but for the reason stated before, we cannot guarantee that it is something that we will be able to offer other than with the platforms that we've previously stated...so Stadia, Steam & Epic Games Store currently have cross progression. There has been difficulties with Switch cross progression and that was delayed, however we're not able to confirm any other platforms.

My guess is platforms such as PS and MS don't necessarily want you to have cross-progression as they know most people typically progress from being a console player to being a PC player and not vice versa. Or simply don't want you playing on the "other guy's" platform instead. It's all about keeping you playing on their platform so they can use you as a boasting statistic at the least, and/or fleecing you for that per month/annual online play fee. As a business, their mentality is probably, by giving you cross-progression.... "What's in it for us?" A loss of business is typically the honest answer.

but there are quite some newer companies/smaller companies that were able to do cross progression on PS/XBOX to PC

Lets convince all these companies that Dbd isnt a horror game but its actually about peace and love and have everyone hug it all out 💙

I'm not saying it's not possible, I'm just saying there may be a certain amount of money that needs to change hands to "allow" it to happen that no one is willing to let go of.

You're totally valid there but if Indie companies can have cross progression it cannot be a huge amount.
I will look forward to any news regarding cross progression, but still bump such threads here and there

i own the demo gorgon on both PS4 and Xbox 1 but i can use it on my PC account either through gamepass or through steam is there any way this would ever be changed as i thought owning it on Xbox would allow me to use it on the same Xbox account on PC

The answer is the same I'm afraid - that would still be cross progression. There is no cross progression between Xbox and Windows Store.

Hey, I'm a bit late to this thread but I have a question. I understand extended cross-progression isn't currently possible due to the big companies rather than BHVR, but why isn't it possible between Xbox and Windows Store? Both are owned by Microsoft, and there are many examples of progress being able to be transferred due to Xbox Play Anywhere (See No Man's Sky, Sea Of Thieves, ARK, Astroneer, Deep Rock Galactic, etc.). If the game exists on both platforms, albeit one being a Window's Edition, it should be possible to incorporate. Microsoft Studios themselves have said it's an opt-in program that takes not very much work from the devs, "Xbox Play Anywhere is an opt-in program for developers, meaning there are no requirements of any sort and the decision is up to them... There's minimal added work for developers to make their title an Xbox Play Anywhere title." - Mark Ybarra, Xbox's Former VP.
With all this said, would it not be possible to make DBD Xbox Play Anywhere? The game is on both platforms and seems that it isn't difficult at all to input, so why hasn't there been any word on why it isn't included? It would be a huge step forward for at least one largely used console's player base to have access to cross-progression.
