What is the best Ruin?
What is the best Ruin? Skillchecks Ruin or Regressing Ruin?
In your opinion, from a killer's perspective, was Ruin pre-rework better as a perk? Or is it Ruin post-rework that is stronger?
As far as i'm concerned, i think Ruin post rework is better. Because it works at all level of play. What seemed to not be the case for old ruin.

I hated the skill check ruin, it let you put on pressure without doing anything.
The new Ruin has a better effect IF, you can actively put on gen pressure. so i think its really balanced.
still think call of brine is better tho

Regressing Ruin
New Ruin is better than old Ruin.
Doesn't mean it's a top tier Perk though

Regressing Ruin
It is though. And i'm afraid we'd be very lucky, as killer players, to get the same kind of reworks for the massive upcoming one... i fear we're getting butchered.

Regressing Ruin
It's not. It gets cleansed extremely quickly if Survivors know Totem spawns, and the effect isn't even that good, at best you'll have 1 Generator regressing while chasing a Survivor, which isn't much

Regressing Ruin
It is a top tier perk. Especially when you build around it. With Pop/ Pain res/ Undying/ Jolt you have plenty of perks to choose to make up for its inconsistency. And while it works, it is far stronger as a gen defence mechanic than pop. So, yeah, definitely a top tier perk in my book.

Using 2-3 Perk slots just to get use out of a single Perk is not worth it

Regressing Ruin
Yes it is since you have four perks. And Hex perks doesn't get cleansed in two seconds every game, this is nothing more than a cognitive bias. Ruin is a meta perk for a reason.

Regressing Ruin
It's meta on 2 Killers at best, those being Nurse and Blight, and even they have Perks that are just way better, like CoB.
If I'm wasting 2-3 Perk slots to get a single Perk to work properly, I'm expecting it to be powerful, and Ruin just isn't worth 3 Perk slots, not when CoB+PGTW exists and does Ruin's job much better, only takes 2 Perk slots and can't be removed at the start of The Trial

Regressing Ruin
Ruin isn't only meta for Nurse/ Blight or high mobility killers. " https://nightlight.gg/perks ". It is just meta. You can't say its about bloodpoints on that one.

I can't decide! On the one hand old ruin was REALLY REALLY good at low to mid ranks because those survivors couldn't hit great skill checks. And even at the higher ranks even if one survivor could hit greats consistently, if another survivor was on the same gen and couldn't it'd still slow the progress significantly. But even if you couldn't hit consistently you could gen tap if need be. Old Ruin was good on any killer, no matter their map presence/mobility.
New Ruin is very good but especially better on killers with good mobility. Nowadays it can also be combined with other good slowdown perks like Resonance. Survivors can be pressured off gens if a killer herds the survivor they are chasing. And they also have tough scenarios e.g., where they have to decide whether to try and finish the gen or go get the unhook and have it regress significantly.
I can't decide!

Regressing Ruin
Old Ruin only really effected new players and experienced players could just breeze through the skill checks. New Ruin rewards the killer for guarding gens, which is way better imo.

Skillchecks Ruin
in the days of old ruin I could only get about half of great skill checks, I found the couple seconds of inability to repair them while sputtering WAY more damning and it pretty much stopped cooperating on gens.

Regressing Ruin
Far more eloquent in design and actually fair.
