Stop With the Pandering
There is no point in announcing the sexuality of anyone. No one should actually care if David King is gay just like no should care if Felix Richter is straight. These are characters in a video game, making these pandering announcements only serves the purpose to show how woke BHVR is and cater to those who don't actually cares about this teams quality of life. People who actually care about this game should only be concerning themselves with the obvious flaws/problems within the game. The survivors don't have sex, they do five gens, maybe some totems and open doors or die, that's it. I have no problem with the LGBTQ community, sleep with whoever you, love whoever you want, wear whatever want, call yourself whatever you want. My simple problem is the sure, this might just be the media team pandering and devs wasting time putting useless info in the game, still no problem is fixed, only time was wasted while people on this forum amongst others forums rant about various problems that have yet to be fixed. I do not mean to offend anyone, I am just stressed by lack of obvious care for fixing these problems

The people who write the character backstories and archive text arenβt the ones doing the bug fixes. Theyβre unrelated.
21 -
The representation team and the balance team aren't the same!
7 -
They still go into the game and change the lore, they add useless charms. Personally I don't want them to add any charms, skins, anything until fixes and changes are made to improve quality of life
1 -
Again, the people who do art design for the charms arenβt the ones doing but fixes and programming character mechanics. The game has teams that do different things, one team doing art and such doesnβt impact the others doing the technical work.
10 -
Again, that is a separate team who are working on it at a reasonable pace so they don't burn out their workers.
If you got a problem with certain representations, do everyone a favor and keep it to yourself. Some of us are trying to enjoy Pride Month.
6 -
Why do they have anyone currently focusing on adding charms or anything like that. If all of these different teams actually focused on what is important or maybe idk hire more people to focus on what is important, then maybe something might get done without the community needing to wait 6 months-3 years. Plain and simple there is no reason to have anyone working on cosmetics with this many glairing issues
2 -
You literally didn't read anything I wrote did you? "So of us are trying to enjoy pride month" like what, by playing a video game what 4 people are hunted down and killed, what a productive way to be proud of who you are.
3 -
And it would make me happy if the obvious problems were fixed but no, sexuality comes first in the game where sex means no but crap that actually matters, no no no that can wait. making a small part of this community happy at the expense of fixing problems that everyone complains about is a serious problem. BHVR doing this is no different that Any major company changing their social media icons with a pride flag backdrop. It is obvious pandering and everyone knows it

7 posts and all of them are of this nature. Why have the mods not taken care of you yet? Made a whole account just to say you hate LGBT+ content in the game, yet you don't know the difference between the art team and the game design team. Perhaps silence would've been a better course of action.

Lore and Art teams have nothing to do with the game design, mechanics, or balance. The Lore team has been writing character and tome lore for years now, it's not preventing the other teams from doing their jobs working on the game.
The devs adding new content like perks, game mechanics, status effects, etc. instead of focusing on fixing what's already in the game is the issue. That has 0 to do with lore. We won't get an operation health because the community complained when a mid-chapter focused on game health and had nothing new. It's not lore/cosmetics that are preventing the devs from focusing on fixing the game - it's the players complaining when they don't get something new every patch.
2 -
People have told you already about different teams so there is no point.
This is going to get out of control quickly so @MandyTalk or any other mod please close and or delete this post
4 -
this isnβt gonna go well
5 -
I know it's not so I already tagged a mod to close it
Better to be safe then sorry
2 -
Stop telling people what to discuss or care about.
8 -
Good. Threads like this never go well. Better to just close it

The art team and writers donβt βneed to be doing bug fixesβ, thatβs not their skill set. Also this isnβt a zero sum situation, itβs a big enough company that they can have both an art team and a programming team.

And all your account is filled up defending useless addons to a game with has nothing to do with sex or sexuality but you just have to have it added to make yourself feel better. It is funny how you behave as though I hate LGBTQ people when in reality I am against BHVR making an aspect no mater how small about someone's sexual orientation? Do you walk around asking peoples sexual orientation, do you actually care that much that a game that has nothing to do about sex, love, or identity, include a persons sexual orientation. I am stating it is a waste of time to state someone is gay in a game where is doesn't matter but you obviously can't see that so fine. I want BHVR to add the straight flag (if there is one), and I want in each characters lore all of their sexual orientation, height, weight blah blah blah. I demand an overweight survivor because there are none. But clown is overweight and he is a killer that means that fat people are evil killers. Lets all just waste each others time adding useless crap that has nothing to do with gameplay to this game because feelings

ain't nobody reading all that

OP is not going to last very long on this forum.
1 -
You are one of the reasons LGBTQIA+ things get added to games because of bigotry or ignoring the fact these people exist.
I would bet large sums of money this post wouldn't exist if it weren't for David and you'd have been fine with straight relationships being represented in DBD. You're just made that a gay one is.
9 -
good.
4 -
You're doing a significant amount of caring for someone who claims this doesn't matter
1 -
lol
1 -
I am claiming that this takes time and resources and budgeting away from teams who can actually fix gameplay issues.
3 -
Ikr because I care about quality of life and not the wasteful cosmetic aspect of a game which already has big quality of life issues. Oh and I am not in an echo chamber
1 -
You seem a little upset that people that are paid to create characters stories and talk about them are doing exactly what they're paid to do.
If it doesn't matter to you then fair enough, but it matters to some and that's far more important, are you mad at literally all of the lore? Why even give the characters names at this point, infact let's just remove all the characters names and faces and story because none of it matters, lol.
2 -
-
No. Because you're a low-information fool who doesn't understand how even the smallest of companies work.
And more importantly, you're closet-bigoted. But clearly not for much longer at the rate you're going.
Edit: Softened my words so I (hopefully) don't end up like you.

There's a saying that's pretty apt for this kind of scenario "too many cooks spoil the broth". You can't just hire 20 more Devs that have never worked on dbd or know it's systems and how it's programmed and expect them to make meaningful changes or fixes for the game.
1 -
How am I closet bigoted? Explain where I said I wish any harm towards any of the LGBTQ community. I didn't, you simply can't use a logical argument against me and instead are calling me a bigot. You know nothing about me, you know nothing about my life. You don't know my race, sexual orientation, or anything else for that matter so how about you stop accusing me of an awful thought process and actually come up with an argument that can hold water.
1 -
Exactly, this doesn't affect gameplay, and hoy do you know if it affects me or not, you know nothing about me besides that fact that I hate the fact that BHVR would rather invest in a creative team producing content instead of increasing their investment in quality of life work.
1 -
Lore doesn't matter, I guarantee .5% of players actually read and care about the lore.
1 -
"How do you know if it affects me or not"
gee, I wonder.

Closing this up here, as this thread has gotten out of hand.
Let me say here; representation is very important in many facets of media, and not just video games. BHVR cares very deeply about representation, which is why the Lore team worked so closely and for such a long time with GaymerX, to ensure representation was done right, and respectfully.
And as many on the thread answered, Yes: the people that work on the lore are not the same people that work on bug fixes, design changes, cosmetics, or programming. Representing the LGBTQIA+ community in game, who are normally under represented in all walks of life, does not effect fixing bugs, making character cosmetics, or adding new content to the game.
