Oh Dredge is so dull

BHVR you were doing so well with Sadako, she was weak but she broke the streak of killers that put me to sleep when I tried to play them. But you've absolutely lost that magic with Dredge.

Don't get me wrong, it's cool, and I love the aesthetics of it. But holy ######### the gameplay is so dull. W key city, as is to be expected since his anti-loop is actually pretty strong. Mapwide teleport to any locker, but he just moves so slowly and in the time it takes to slowly meander my way across the map to a locker just far enough away from where I need to get to to be inconvenient I could've probably made myself a cuppa. Nightfall is a really cool idea but it's just so uninteractive because it's an entirely passive thing. At least Main Event on Trickster you have to activate, Nightfall just happens and it's like oh cool glad I could activate this when I wanted t- oh wait.

I don't know, man. It just feels like they've forgotten how to make killers both strong and fun to play. Sadako is weak but she's an absolute blast and still everything just feels so smooth and wonderful when playing as her (though she definitely needs buffs lmao) and yet I cannot get into Dredge. Someone get me a coffee because I'm asleep at the wheel.

Another killer to level for perks and forget about, I guess.

i've gotten to the point in playing dbd that i don't care about winning, i do care about having fun. i'd take sadako over dredge any day easily just because she's fun

oh no he's definitely not as sleep inducing as artist but after sadako it somehow feels worse

at least i bought this dlc day one though, which is already better than portrait of a flop

Nightfall charges by hitting survivors, hiding in a locker, using your husk teleport, and GRADUALLY increases based on injured survivors in the map. Are you complaining about the power gradually increasing instead of gradually decreasing?

Moreoso I'm complaining about not getting to activate it when you want and, unlike a Chain Hunt, it's time limited meaning that being able to activate it whenever would help add a greater skill ceiling and make for more meaningful Nightfall uses. However, that it is entirely passive, combined with the rest of Dredge's (imo dull) kit, has made for an incredibly boring experience in the ~10 games I've played of it.

Do I expect to be the master of a killer within 10 games? No. But considering Sadako was fun from game 1, and DBD is still a video game, I was at least expecting to be having some engagement by game 10.

im genuinely curious about if theyre not just a bot with 3 pre-programmed responses instructed to just click on random threads and give one of them

I mean I would LOVE for Trickster or Dredge to have been designed like Meyers, where you can just store up your power and activate it when you want to. But since "quality of life for killers" is very, very low on the To Do List, I'd much rather get a passive that you actually see during games than one you don't. Trickster's Main Event is so bad that actually using it when it happens to pop up is very often the wrong call and will cost you a chase. It's infinitely worse than Nightfall (and the only REAL use for Main Event is hook camping, so it's bad from both a killer AND survivor perspective).

If you don't like the killer, that's fine. If you prefer the weaker version instead, that's fine too. People still play the gutted Deathslinger for some reason, despite him being a worse Huntress in every respect.

It does seem like we both want the same thing tbh, just for different reasons lmao.

But yeah, Dredge just is not the killer for me. And it's a shame, because I love the way the art team went. I think the only time they've ever really disappointed me recently is in Artist, though, and I don't enjoy anything about her so that's hardly surprising.

For an Anniversary chapter, though, I was hoping for something a bit more. I'll just pretend Sadako was the anniversary chapter and everything will be fine.

W-key city is pretty unfun to play against but I can't say I found get-looped-for-45-seconds-because-of-no-chase-power to be any better with Sadako.

I'm enjoying The Dredge, but learning a new killer can be quite challenging. When you play against sweaty survivors every 2 - 3 matches. I get it Mr./Mrs. Survivor... you are far superior than me and you escaped while I play as The Dredge. I'm sure I'll get better with time, but frustrating to say the least. I do feel like his teleport power could be better. BHVR, stop being scared to make killers an actual challenge for these SWAT like SWF's that tea bag at the exit gate ALL the time.

At least with looping I stand a chance at effectively countering them, considering the years of experience I had pre-Pyramid Head release (and continued to get with Wraith afterwards). W key is literally just hold a button, press "break pallet" occasionally, rinse and repeat with very little chance of effectively countering them.

Bots will save this game tho.

Pratice new killers, new maps without playing against sweaty people. When you have bad games in row, you can chill against bots etc. I can not wait for them.

I mean, considering how often I get sent to Coldwind or The Game as Onryo, I find her to be a very unfun experience.

Not that Artist or Dredge are any better.

Surely he gives out less depression than Spirit does.

I think Dredge is really fun to play as and against overall but the counterplay boiling down to w key city really is stale, but It's sort of a universal thing right? If you're boring enough you can w key 80% of the cast but many choose not to and try to loop because it's more fun and engaging to them. Also an expression of skill if you can make the most out of your resources

I worry what buffs Sadako is gonna get, she does need something for chase but if they give her another pure anti-loop ability it's going to get dull real fast.

he makes me less sad than playing artist but i think id rather play ghostface and sit through a mental breakdown.

I wouldn’t go that far, but the last time I played Spirit, I almost had a mental breakdown due to how unfun and depressing it was.

I've also found this killer quite boring to vs. Fun enough to play as but not vs.

I'm really happy they added more lockers to the map but people keep locking them annoyingly. Also vs'ing the same killer 75% of my games tonight has been just been too much.
