How is the game so imbalanced for solo que yet it makes up the majority of the player base?

Been playing solo que almost exclusively for years and the game is simply not balanced anywhere close to being in favor of survivors due to the absolute lack of tools that ironically make SWF's so much stronger. Who knows the reason why the developers seem so reluctant on adding any of these basic tools to make casual solo que less of a death sentence.

Out of the ten matches I played today it was rare to not see tunneling off of the survivor that was hooked first, can you blame the killer though when tunneling is the go to strategy used even in high level play? Seems more like poor game design that it is so and that begs the question, why hasn't that changed?

The issue is that a highly coordinated SWF can play around being tunneled and against the top tier killers but the second you put that up against solo que players they are doomed from the start and that's exactly how the majority of most matches play out. It's almost like a clown show watching everyone rush the hook and then watch the killer effortlessly return to it and take them out, I mean what can they do? Only option is to run anti tunnel perks with dead hard so you can survive and make it to the next loop.

I'm optimistic about the changes to these meta perks for both sides as touched on in the recent anniversary podcast but honestly I'm still pretty doubtful that it will change this tell tale lopsided balance of power that just punishes the casual player so harshly. With even the most basic addition of tools such as base kit Kindred or other things that can somehow allow less experienced survivors not be so vulnerable to meta tactics such as tunneling or camping I think the game would be in a much healthier state for the majority of the population.

I don't think they'll ever be able to balance it. Whatever perk changes they can do to help solo survivors will just help overpower swfs, which puts killers at a further disadvantage against them. I'm resigned to the current solo experience personally.

Best advice I've seen regarding playing solo is to try and not get caught first or last.

That's not to say I'm not keen on seeing the reworked perks, because I definitely am. But I just don't think there will be anything for me in there lol and the perks that I find do help me as a solo survivor could potentially no longer do so

Funny cause the devs seem to balance more around soloq or at least they used to. Now it just feels like whatever is remotely complained about gets nerfed.

Solo queue is pure DBD. It is the original concept. The randomness is the point whether is tiles or teammates. I have seen things that only happened once in thousands of hours and the game still surprises me sometimes. SWF matches with experienced players tend to go the same way with 3 or 4 out with the occasional squad wipe when they get bad RNG. When the stars align and 4 experienced solo players end up on a team, it is nearly an identical result.

It is frustrating to get teamed up with someone who is clowning around or making terrible mistakes, but you can still earn plenty of blood points saving and healing them before death. I would rather head into the unknown and play the cards I am dealt than every match being 3 and 4 escapes tea bagging the killer.
