The Dredge is the best designed killer since the 2016 DBD release

Ok, 2 of his 3 perks are not really good to use, but that doesn't matter at the moment. ( only my opinion ) The darkness customization is much better than on the PTB and I really like his sound effects. He has everything a good killer should have. Chase, deception potential, map control and if you get it right, a jumpscare or two at the beginning. Nightfall is the perfect blend of sounds and visually very well designed. The music also fits very well. Finally something creepy (I would have liked to see music like this in Ghostface).

What do you think of it?

I find his dark mode annoying, feels like a filter opposed to actually beaing night,

when im on Eyrie it REALLY feels like a filter

that saying it makes it harder to loop

could tone down the screams tho

That makes it harder to loop, and that's a good thing. Playing against him as a survivor is challenging and (and this is the most important thing for me) ultimately scary

I think Nightfall is just a bit too much. They should make sure you can see the surroundings you are supposed to see a bit brighter, and maybe increase the vision range just a bit. I do believe right now it is just a 12 meter radius in which survivors can see, but not sure.

But I probably do agree with you. He is absolutely fantastic. His visual and sound design is great. His map pressure is fantastic and he has a nice anti-loop ability that doesn't feel oppressive in any way really. At least it seems like that for now.

If they tone down the screaming during Nightfall i will be beyond happy

That and the noise he makes while moving, i can barely hear anything playing as him

He's honestly just a really nicely designed killer and it's so satisfying to grab someone from a locker. I literally caught someone the moment before they locked the locker, it was awesome. I'm just hoping I'm giving some nice scares in the process

I had already mentioned this in another thread, but in my opinion The darkness is perfect right now. When you play as a survivor, you finally have something to be afraid of. In PTB, the darkness had almost no effect and was way too bright because you could just see too much. Survivor Perks like "windows of Opportunity" are finally gaining more importance

He definitely looks like a very well designed character with a lot of potential.

But given that the last two characters i said this about got absolutely decimated by BHVR (referring to Hillbilly and Deathslinger), I am going to be careful with who I take a liking to now.

Hot take: it isn't scary to face Dredge. There's very little tension, a couple of jumpscares but that's it. The darkness is more frustrating than anything because I can just see discrepancies with the lighting constantly that break immersion moreso than being healed via magical backrub

I haven’t laughed so hard in I don’t know how long. This killer is so fun as survivor. Darkness is great. The jump scares are hilarious.

Player this morning with two friends and we kept burning Mary’s Letters’ to go to Locker School.

Our first match against the dredge we got a good player who had us all dead before we could finish a gen.

Granted it is hard to loop when you’re laughing so hard you’re crying.

I have been having loads of fun playing as Dredge. Dunno why but it is just very satisfying teleporting to a locker in general but especially during a chase and getting a hit.

I'm sure they'll nerf Nightfall to the point of uselessness, whereupon the forums will be flooded for months talking about how good 'old' Dredge was.

It's all a matter of getting used to it. Survivor Perks like Windows of Oppunity are even better now than before. On PTB the darkness was too weak, but that's just my opinion.

I'm just a console player who doesn't matter - are we supposed to be able to see at all? That part is not snarky - we don't get to play the PTB so I'm not sure if we are supposed to be almost entirely blind or if that's just one more way PC players have it easier with being able to adjust their brightness and use filters.

I feel 2 out of 3 are good actually and can be useful on other killers. The 3rd might be good with a Nurses Calling (the one with exhaustion while healing). But it is definitely a fun killer.

There is a filter that they need to tone down. Part of the filter that blacks out the edges of the screen (called a vignette) needs seriously nerfed or removed because at some angles I can't even see my own survivor depending on the map and part of map I'm on. Everything else about Nightfall is perfect.

I use headphones and the screams don't sound too loud to me. In fact, when the Dredge downs someone, or another survivor screams for whatever reason during Nightfall, it sounds like the screams sound like they are underwater and muffled, really weird and I hope they fix it. But the headset I'm using, I don't hear them as loud, like for example when playing the Plague, the chants are so loud you can't hear anything and it's really loud (needs toned down on killer side especially). Also, the screams get louder as Nightfall get's closer to ending. I like that because it's a way to tell me it's almost over without having to look at the side of my screen which is already hard to see with the vignette filter I mentioned about. But yeah, definitely needs some toning down with the filter they put on.
