The dredge is fun except....
His anti loop is so annoying. You can't loop him the moment he places his remnant..
It's so annoying. I guess I'm holding w against him

Artist 2.0 basically. Just leave the loop and hold W every time he places a remanent

Yep I'm beginning to see that. But at least he has something fun with his nightfall

What does the remnant do? I've only faced a handful of Dredge players and I don't think I've seen any use it.

Dredge's kit is way overloaded. Dredge has basically nuked Sadako from orbit. I literally regret getting Sadako now.
13 -
It let's him blink back to the spot but I've heard it can be finicky.

Ah, OK. I haven't seen any Dredge players use them while being looped. One Dredge was placing them behind him while he chased someone holding W, I ran through it to see what would happen and nothing did so had no idea if it should've done something or not. 😂

Any decent killer would have nuked sadako from orbit

So far most of my attempts to anti-loop using the remnant have left me foolishly disoriented when I warp back and by the time I know what direction to swing, the survivor's made distance again. I'm sure with practice it'll be easier but right now that thing's hard to use!
4 -
Its very hard to use. While charging the dredge basically can't see anything more than 5 feet in front of him, so you can fake him out then or run into the remnant to break it. And if he teleports to the remnant, he faces the direction he was facing when he placed it. Survivor can easily confuse him by walking behind the remnant. On top of that, dredge loses collision briefly after teleporting, so you can hide inside of him.
To say his only counter play is holding w is very ignorant

He's like a reverse Artist.

I'm not sure how his remnant works but if the dredge is trying to take control of one loop then I would say just run him to the next one. How long does it take to place a remnant? Those precious seconds mean everything when you're running the killer.
1 -
I feel like he would have been better designed if they didn't shove that anti-loop into his kit and gave him something more unique instead.
3 -
Well no m1 killer is fun.
1 -
It’s about prediction. You know where he set the remnant and you can predict that he’ll teleport back, similar to Hag’s traps at a loop.
2 -
No matter how unique a killer is, they need something to help them in chase unless they want to be the next onryo.
1 -
Yea like others have said you gotta play against him in a similar way you should play against Artist. Or even hag (if you imagine his remnant as a hag trap).
Hold W, chain pallets/windows, never loop the same loop if he places his remnant.

Personally, I would rather have a weaker but fun killer than a boring but strong killer.

I don't see how placing a remnant is helping him during a chase besides teleporting to a nearby locker. He cannot attack people while he's in that different dimension, or can he? After all pressing m1 forces him to return to his remnant. Where's the strategy to that?
1 -
What? You can counter his anti-loop ez. Just touch the hull, then he can not teleport back.....
3 -
place remnant at a pallet, loop survivor into remnant, teleport back to remnant and you get a free hit.
or if the survivor runs into you, cancel the ability and then just hit them normally.

You can't hit someone immediately after cancelling the power. I've been juking them at loops by running straight at them. After playing as him for a couple hours you will see how slow and obvious his telegraphs are.
He moves too slow while the power is held, it has to fill a charge meter first and he has a cooldown after cancelling the power where he can't swing. Since he can't attack during his power you are very safe.

Yes, but the difference is: the Dredge outclasses Sadako in almost every way. Almost everything she can do, it does better.
Teleporting to TVs? Dredge can teleport to lockers. It takes longer to teleport to a locker, sure, but Dredge isn't locked in animation after teleporting like Sadako and has killer instinct to perceive where nearby survivors are. Also, there are far more lockers than TVs on the map, and they can't be made unusable like the TVs. Locking them only slows Dredge down and can be done only once, unlike turning TVs off.
Confusing people at loops to make them go to the wrong side and down them? The remnant does that far better than her intermittent invisibility ever will.
Sneaking on survivors? Sure, the Dredge needs Nightfall to be undetectable, but when it's active, not only is he undetectable, the whole map is dark and survivors field of view limited, there are constant cries that survivors keep hearing, and the killer has no "lullaby" to warn survivors he is coming nor a loud manifesting noise before attacking. He is more visible than her, yeah, but that won't matter if you just quickly appear in a locker behind the survivor doing a gen.
In other words, the only thing she can do where she isn't completely outclassed is being stealth at any time, instead of needing an active passive, walls to get behind and a locker, but that only thing is not even that good, as stealth abilities are quite weak in this game and she will still be seen if the survivor is in an open area with clear line of sight, even with her low visibility.

There is a killer who behaves almost exactly like dredge without anti-loop and her name is onryu. Nobody likes playing as her because she is quite possibly the weakest killer in the game, if you disagree with that then I imagine you would at least agree she is bottom of the barrel tier.

People said they would rather have a killer with little to no anti-loop then we got Onryo, if a killer has little to no anti looping power they genuinely do not end up well. Like I get people are tired of anti-loop killers, but can people take a look at how boring it is to play a no anti-loop killer? It's literally just people pre-dropping pallet simulator, there is a reason why no anti-loop killers aren't played often because they suck to play as.

There are enough weak killers in the game already

It should only take around 5 bars for Sadako to Mini Mori via Condemned. I think it’s like 6-7 bars. That’s why The Onryo sucks.
Her actual power is the ability to condemn a player, and then Mini Mori someone who has the red ring; However, it’s neigh impossible to do this consistently. The devs made her main ability a gimmick since an insta kill would irritate players. If you’re lucky you can pull it off every blue moon, but then you waste more time trying to Mori someone than to just play accordingly.
I’ve Mini Mori’d more with my main Rancor Doctor than with Sadako…. 😔

this is the fun thing: both are garbage (but at least sadako has undetectable and she's difficult to see in certain loops unlike dredge)

I honestly do not see that problem.
Dredge is quit slow while doing his teleport thing. Its not like he is Spirit and can catch up to you. On longer loops his power is pretty worthless on shorter loops you can even reach his Remnant. He has descent counterplay even in the loop.
I do however agree that he is just a far better Sadako.
I bought Sadako because I liked her design. However I bought Dredge yesterday and had more fun getting stomped than I had while winning with Sadako, just because I had a funny power and could sometimes be a stealthy pile of meat in the dark. He was tons more fun, which is quit sad for Sadako.

You have one, Onryo. Enjoy

Whenever he is holding his power to potentially teleport to a locker, it also leaves a remnant that the dredge can teleport back to if a survivor doesn’t destroy it. So you will see a remnant every time the person playing dredge is holding the power button

But you can buff Sadako without giving her anti-loop. She's so weak right now not because she's lacking it, but just because the devs made Condemned so meaningless.
Don't get me wrong, she still won't be that strong, but she'd be a lot better than she is currently if the devs just buffed that and maybe gave her teleport a shorter cooldown.
I do, as a matter of fact.

I mean there are counters, but hold W is the easiest way especially when it comes to small tiles/loops.
But there are still counters none the less
