A Perfect Example How Horrible The No Mither Challenge is
I was playing Oni. Lmao. Of course I gave them hatch for their services, but DAMN.

Yeah, it's pretty dang cruel. If it's bad now, I pity the survivors who join in the future and have to clear up old tomes. At least right now, we associate No Mither with the challenge and there are killers that will take pity on you for it after your team inevitably gets wrecked. Give it a few weeks and No Mither's going to be 100% free real estate again.

I tried that challenge for the 20th time this morning... Got an Oni too!
They camped and tunneled me out at 5 gens...

Maybe it will get a major rework with that 40 perk update?

One can hope. It definitely needs it, more than any other perk actually.

It’s more than a meme perk. You lose a health state permanently, usually to the detriment of yourself and the rest of your team. Other meme perks serve a purpose without butchering the whole flow of a game for survivors.
Having an achievement and Rift challenges associated with it are annoying too, because it forces people to run this ‘meme’ perk to get them done.

Pebble is a meme perk. It's fun, it's useless, but it doesn't hurt to have it. No Mither is not that.
I would absolutely love if there was some kind of buff to it. But I don't know what they could do to make it decent.

Whomever makes the challenges does not play survivor at all. It is equivalent to a killer challenge of having to hook everyone 4 times each and kill them all.
To be honest, the later is still much easier.

Probably is actually lol

I didn't think it was that bad at all, got it the first try. I think people get too reliant and carried by perks to an MMR they shouldn't be at.

There's a big difference between running perkless and running perkless No Mither. Normal perkless is harder than your average game, sure, but it doesn't come with a big 'kick me!' sign that any killer who isn't deliberately being nice to you will exploit for free pressure. My likelihood of being tunneled shot through the roof while I was doing that challenge - and on top of laying you out as a soft target, it prevents you from taking hits or going for dangerous saves, hands out match-long freebies to Oni or killers running Thana, and makes you a walking punching bag for killers like Wraith, Hag, or Twins.

Being injured all game isn't that big of a deal. You could literally just pre drop every pallet and you'll get out, it's that easy. Thana also really doesn't matter much. If you're a good looper just No Mither isn't that bad. Most people just aren't very good. The game has a lot of built in base features that carry people even if they aren't good.

I already feel bad for how many key/hatch challenges there used to be.
3 -
I'm skeptical. It was already updated not long ago and the devs already stated that the perk is meant to be used as a challenge/hardcore mode.
The 40-perk rework seems to be directed more at meta perks or at those that find no use.

They also stated before the OoO rework that they don’t intent to change that because statistics show it’s not as powerful as people claim.
and there is a flaw with calling it hardcore mode if it still gives advantages especially when it’s combined with other perks

I let a David go because I thought he was doing the No Mother challenge. Then he teabagged me at the gate. He wasn't doing the challenge, and didn't even have an exhaustion perk to give me a clue.
If I tunnel any of you out of the game, you can blame that David.
Edit: I've seen my typo. I'm leaving it in because it made me chuckle.

thankfully all killers are m1 killers with zero range attacks or anti loop abilities! it's such a relief!
/s

Pre dropping is literally the counters to anti-loop killer. That and just hold W. Range killers just take hugging the wall tight without throwing pallets forcing the m1 and you waste too much of their time while gens pop. The No Mither is pretty irrelevant in those cases as well.

I thought meta perks and sweaty games were the reason killers camped and tunneled. Guess not
