Why not remove dead hard for a week?

Not that great a video (yes, I watched all of it).
Very little time spent on sprint burst which would 100% replace Dead hard and then all the killer mains on these forums would complain about sprint burst.
Using the same reasoning that survivor mains use (no one uses it right anyways) as reasoning why people won't use sprint burst. Like...what? At high levels, where wins and losses are being decided by that one missed swing or one successfully dead hard, everyone will know how to successfully use Dead hard.
Well made video, but completely missing the point.

Again. Sprint burst you can bail the chase immedately. And the survivors have to keep it 99d by walking to use it like dead hard mid chase. Which is skillful. Dead hard you can use at what would be the end of chase. And just need to be injured and press E. Fairly different.
1 -
You can’t killswitch mechanics unless it’s a game breaking bug.

Personally have no problem with removing Dead Hard, very overrated perk and is always expected, can't say I suffer from it as a killer much and don't use it as survivor.
Let's with Dead Hard remove NOED. Cheap crutch perk that good killers don't use anyway.

Simple. Map design is trash, the game is just RNG on spawns (gen, hooks, etc) and 3/4 of exhaustion perks are useless. DH is necessary since devs don't make the other exh perks useful.
It won't happen. This game will never be balanced.

If you bail on a chase, that's actually worse than having a Dead Hard in the middle of a chase.
You lose all the time, finding someone, then you lose all time time finding someone else. What are you going to do when every survivor has sprint burst, bail on all 4 chases.
This is horrible reasoning.

Have to keep *running* to keep it 99'd, which is super easy for high rank players. If the killer breaks chase then a few seconds are spent walking to a nearby gen, and the rest of the exhaustion is worn out while working on a gen. If the killer comes back then that sprint burst user will immediately start walking away from the gen as soon as they hear the heartbeat, giving enough time to get sprint burst back.
Using sprint burst efficiently is not difficult. I've used both plenty. And four players using it like this will get just as many threads as Dead hard is currently getting.
The thing is, all the players who only play killer on these forums are running out of excuses. Yeah, the game was super survivor lopsided for many years, but now these killer-only players are grasping at straws for why they are losing when the majority of the streamers they watch are 4k'ing every game. Dead hard ain't it.
According to statistics at least 50 percent of games are solo queue, and as a killer if you want to walk into any solo queue game against equally skilled opponents and get a 4k, it ain't very hard.
I play killer and survivor solo queue equally, and I'm sick of the lack of balance. The problem is not Dead hard.
The problem is nurse. The problem is Blight. The problem is SWF. The problem is map design. The problem is chases, which are skillful are not as rewarding as hard camp/tunneling, which is not. The problem is STACKED exhaustion perks (4 of the same in the same game). The problem is STACKED gen slowdown perks on broken killers. The problem is an MMr system that has never worked. Both sides are busted for different reasons and need to be toned DOWN, not up.
Not really much point saying this, though. Devs have never been too interested in balance. It took them years to balance moris and keys. Will probably be another few years before they get it right again.

Nah. Read my topic. ''Blight is fine'' and doesn't need to be disabled. Hugging walls is fine, better blaming the only one useful exhaustion perk.

How? Like in the example of the video. Otz was about to down a survivor on the game. The chase had been going on for 40 seconds. And they dead hard to a safe pallet. Effectively reseting the entire chase? All that time wasted. They would be down. Otz would get a hook. He'd be one step closer to winning. Dead hard changed that. A sprint burst i can just go to a gen watch them speed off and be like "not worth my time I'll go find someone else" no 40 second chase spent? Also if all four have SB. Then bait leave and come back when they don't have Sb up. Or cut them off. Or commit if ya want now they can't DH.

They already have stats from games without DH so I doubt they see a point in it
0 -
Yes. The correlation is that people who don't want to loop a cardboard box for 5 min go pick Nurse or play another game such as The Need For Speed.
0 -
I don't think it needs "disabled" except DH experiment thing.
Don't know why Nurse is mentioned on comments as counterpart though.
Because of broken mechanics?
Sure. I can agree Nurse is definitely one of the killers that have chance of getting nerfs.
But isn't it disappointing before all these Nurse nerf suggestions massively started Hillbilly, Deathslinger, Freddy who were defintely weaker than Nurse got almost butchered?
Anyway I'm fine with Nurse rework, change, nerf whatever if Nurse is unfair and broken. (if survivors other broken things are changing too)
I am just hoping weak, niche killers to be more enjoyable.
Now Dredge is released but I'd rather play Nurse than Sadako to be honest.

Where in this thread is the call for killswitching anything? This thread is just a recall to the weekend where bloodlust was turned of for data purposes.
But like in all the dead hard threads since the anniversary stream i want to remind the op that they are working on it and further new threads won't make them work faster or better.
And for everyone else saying "turn off nurse too", be my guest, take nurse and blight for all I care if it means changing up the survivor meta hard.

I would rather see slowdown and aura perks disabled.
1 -
Tell me you don’t play killer without telling me you don’t play killer.
6 -
Well they play nurse. Close enough.
0 -
That would nerf solo Q without aura perks.
0 -
I find that hard to believe though.

They at least have the same name of like the 20th spot on the dbd leaderboards for PC. So idrk. And when you go to the steam profile. Looks like sluzzy. Comments are what i expect of sluzzy.

I get value from it at least several times a match when I use it and I get downs on survivors that would have gotten to a safe tile or the gate.
It can also be used to bait unhooks into grabs.
1 -
Only the perks like BBQ. Survivor aura perks are OK.
1 -
I played killer last night!!
1 -
No you didn’t
2 -
Sluzzy mains Nurse. Epic fail.
1 -
Looping is what this game is about. So really, maybe the Nurse players need to find another game to play.
1 -
Considering it's not an often used perk and has specif moments, yes. It'd be fun having to adapt certain killers like plague
0 -
Thank God you do not get to pick what the game is about.
2 -
You're not even playing DBD if you play Nurse. Every single killer has to deal with looping and mind games, except for Nurse. You're basically playing cheat-mode DBD.
4 -
Feel free to git gud, my dude. I play multiple killers, I play survivor a good deal too, if you have such a skill deficit that Nurse feels like a different game, that's a personal problem.
1 -
sounds like you just suck at playing against Nurse, get gud.
1 -
The forums after one week of Dead Hard not being in the game...
5 -
I play killer and I want her off the roster so every single other killer can get the buffs they need to compete with survivors. Yet killers are being held back because of that piece-of-broken-crap killer.
1 -
Nope you just don't want strong killers period.
1 -
Glad you can read minds. Maybe you should get a TV show. The amazing Nathan13 can talk to your dead loved ones and tell you where they buried their treasure.
0 -
I mean you literally sound like you don't like having strong killers in the game when survivors have broken mechanics too.
1 -
The Nurse is the only broken killer in the game. You can't reduce map sizes for killers if you have killers that can teleport from one side of a small map to the other to down someone and teleport right back to the hooked survivor to re-down them.
On small maps, the Nurse is literally everywhere. Her kill rate skyrockets on maps like that.
So killers like Trapper are stuck having to deal with large maps because that's how BHVR balances Nurse, by keeping those large maps around.
0 -
I disagree that nurse per se is problematic rather her strongest add-ons, just like blight's, add too much to her basekit and should be reworked/heavily nerfed
But well even my stance according to these forums is heresy so whatever

No it´s not. The are plenty of racing games if you want to loop. Or you can do one and call it "The Loop for Speed"
0 -
I bet you, you can´t even land a hit with Nurse. Yet is "op".
0 -
Well, they wouldn't gather very much data. Survivor mains would probably just quit for a week.
0 -
I would be all for this. Lately I have seen a lot of people use Dead Hard moronically, but when used right it is crippling to the killer. One perk shouldn't have that much power. I would even be up for a trade as others suggested whether it be a killer like Nurse, Corrupt Intervention, Pain Resonance, etc. Perk definitely is in need of a rework

Lots of 'But Nurse' comments which I really didn't want it to spiral down into, but I did make the mistake of mentioning her (even if she'd come up regardless). I'm there was at least some discussion.
To address some points:
-I don't think Sprint Burst would be nearly as asinine as Dead Hard. I personally believe exhaustion is widely unnecessary in the current state of the game and adds way too much, but I find higher level killer completely manageable when it's other exhaustion at play. None feel so blatantly unfair as Dead hard.
-Nurse or not, people would bring Dead Hard anyway. The same way Killers would bring stacked slowdown even if all maps were turned into Wreckers' Yard and all exhaustion was disabled. People are not playing this game for a 'challenge' or a 'fair match', they come to dominate in ways they never could in other multiplayer games, because you'd actually need to be better than the opponent to do that. Dwelling on Nurse too much is unnecessary, make a thread about her if she's that problematic.
-Sluzzy is a gift.
-It may not be substantial data but it would be interesting to see how people here feel after that week and how known content creators do too. Some people discredit their takes, but they play this game for a living and are generally very good, so their take is still valuable and can be made digestible.
-I think the biggest issue that'll come after DH being changed is how pre-dropping + W will get universally used by all, good or bad. It's already overused against me when I play Dredge to the point where mind gaming is pointless and gameplay is so dull.
0 -
why does your profile picture look like its in jail?
0 -
Cause people here don't like to argue about real game problems inside this forum.
1 -
Killers would be overjoyed and most of the survivors wouldn't play during that time since they don't know how to survive with only 2 health states.
0 -
Unlike playing SWF and discord with tunned Nvidia settings uh?
4 -
I don't think that's comparable. One is just playing with the most shameless advantages possible, the other is ignoring more than half the mechanics of the game, leaving the other side with little to work with when it comes to interaction. Both kind of suck, but one definitely plays more 'DBD' than the other.
1 -
If you think SWF, Discord and tuned Nvidia settings is unfair and are using it to defend Nurse, it means that you believe Nurse is as unfair as SWF, Discord and tuned Nvidia settings.
You pretty much just argued for Nurse to be removed.
1 -
No that is not it, but nice fallacy.
3 -
Dead Hard is the primary reason i'm not playing killer anymore. But "jUsT bAiT iT oUT" right?
