Will anniversary require an update or it’ll be able to just load in?

I'm sure you don't have to download anything since everything should be in the game files already. Probably there will be a bug fix patch next week.

the event was already part of the latest update and no further update is necessary (if there isn’t a hotfix needed for an unforeseen bug or something)

It's never needed an update before unless something was quite terribly broken and an emergency hotfix was so I assume it'll be fine.

There is going to be a hotfix first yes, this should happen in a little while from now PRIOR to the start of the Anniversary Event.
