You know what? I'm about to say it . . .
. . . I'm not having fun with this event.
All jokes aside, this has been a pretty rough event experience. And it's a shame, because I really liked the masquerade idea.
I'm not even going to bother to divulge what side I've been playing because it's irrelevant. It seems a lot of us are having a similar experience.
I don't know what to say except, it's the anniversary and . . . we're all in misery!
Couldn't resist one final joke.

It’s a shame that so many events are like this.
Personally, I’ve had both extremes. My games are either very sweaty or just wholesome farming games. Not much in between those, though.

Oh wow. I'm not one for hyperbole, so I mean this sincerely, I have not had even ONE non-sweaty game. Not one. And I'm pretty generous on what my definition of "sweaty" is. Lots of things that people consider sweaty, I consider normal/fair gameplay. Send some of your good vibes my way please. I could use at least one wholesome farming game the next time I play.

you cant blame devs for peoples mindset about 5 gens in 2 seconds and escape/4k at 5 gens hardcore tunneling etc. its just people devs made maybe not so unique event but its been great 2-3 days as u can see
0 -
If you see a Legion with Joey’s Christmas sweater and cosplay mask, nod at me and I shall farm with you
6 -
What are you talking about?
You made a lot of assumptions. I didn't blame the devs, I shared my experience. How our games are going has no bearing on each other's experience.

I hope it gets better for you and you get some enjoyment out of the event.
4 -
You are a gem. Will do ❤️
3 -
That was a really nice comment--honestly. Thank you. Hope you have a lot of fun this event!
2 -
Like all things in life, it's a mixed bag :P

(I'm in a movie quoting mood haha)
1 -
ok i apologize i misunderstood u
1 -
It's fine. We're cool. 👍

It's definitely rough during this event and it seems like so many people just have so much animosity towards everyone else to the point they feel the need to try and ruin the experience for everyone else. A majority of the matches I've had I've needed a life raft for all the sweat. Hopefully it gets better
4 -
So what? This game is sooooo dead if you can't see they're giving away the game and bloodpoints because they are no longer really supporting the game anyone who has played games knows this game is in DEATH CYCLE. Enjoy your flans and bp's but this game is DEAD. BY DAYLIGHT literally it's been that way for 6 months and it's not coming back EVER.
1 -
Yeah this anniversary event has been the worst one (experience wise). No clue why! If we somehow end up in a match, I won't intentionally do anything to make it bad for you (no matter which role you play). And yeah, I hope so.
2 -
I agree, this is by far the worst event yet for gameplay. It could really be an awesome, fun event if everyone could just relax and play instead of what is happening. It's weird to me that 5 Frightful Flans will be played and the flood gates open for sweat.
2 -
Just do what I'm doing, hoard all flans for post anniversary event. Get your BP later, forget everyone else. Sucks you won't have the stacking flans like you would during the event, but your mental health will appreciate you more
2 -
Speaking of Mental Health . . .
Have you ever seen "Inside Out?" During one particularly ######### game, I thought about how I burnt a flan . . . and this was how I felt about that. But instead of a "Brazilian helicopter pilot," I thought of my flan.
I know you're probably right. I haven't burnt as many as normal because of how the games have been. But I always feel bad when I don't burn one and then I see others burnt some. So then I burn one for the next game and then . . .
FOR THIS I GAVE UP MY FLAN?
lol

I know! It's like some people are playing like they're finally getting their vengeance for . . . idk . . . us having put their families to death??? or maybe being a stand-in for someone else who was toxic to them earlier??? I,I don't know. Could realistically be either.
" . . . all right . . ."
2 -
I know what you mean.
I'm fine with camping and tunneling, so long as it's not at 5 gens or a basement bubba, but slugging for the 4k... come on? at least have 1 survivor get a mask by closing the hatch, you've already won anyway.
Likewise you can teabag me and click your flashlights all you want, but chain stuns and crouching infront of me yet completely out of sight, denying even a single hook, while someone else blasts gens... can I have some BP too please? Considering I was going to let you all go anyway...
My best games have been as killer, where I've been able to 2-hook everyone and then let them all go. 30k+ BP and a mask for everyone.
2 -
As long as one of you let me get some bbq stacks I will also farm with you
I won't kill you unless you point at hook when you're on death hook and let me down you during this event
If you see a pig wearing the jigsaw jacket and default mask(wearing default mask for events/when i want to be friendly) using mad grit it may be me
2 -
my names during event:
Bubba Likes Cake
Dredge Likes Cake
as Surv: 5x Flan Pls
5 flans all yall getting out
2 -
That seems to be a rarity honestly.
0 -
As survivor, it sure is. As killer, I can pull it off basically every other game.
0 -
If I find you, I will stand still, nod twice, and then try to boop your snoot lol
1 -
I'll be on the lookout for you. I hope your experience is mostly fun the rest of the event.
2 -
How much do you play? Pretty insane...
0 -
My swf teammate and I try to boop all pig's. When nice pig we always give them 2 hooks. We usually think nice pig when after boop they oink or spin at us, maybe go to find someone else to check for boops before coming back for farm. If they down, mask, hook us during boop we figure angry piggy. 😂

Haven't been having fun either. I miss the Lunar New Year event. Grabbing the envelopes was quick, everyone got the event rewards, plenty of BP from gens and hooks, gens giving all survivors BP even if they weren't on it to finish it and players played normal. The anniversary just feels miserable with players going extra sweaty, players that are just trying to make other side miserable, as survivor if killer camps you out first you're really not getting many BP so feels like a waste - the anniversary event just doesn't feel fun or rewarding at all.
2 -
I've seen some people on the forums saying that they've had a good experience, and honestly, good for them. I wish I were, too. But I have not seen this many threads of people complaining about an event ever. There's just something weird about this one.
1 -
Did I play with u or something? One of the games I played 2 days ago, it was the only game I've played where everyone was 2-hooked but escaped-
0 -
If it was a Dredge, then it's possible.
0 -
I think its due to the ‘new’ side part of the event not having a purpose after collecting all of the masks and well…community challenges being weird as I still don’t know if we have to have the challenge equipped to progress the global goal or not

I remember the "crown" cosmetics were available to get for every non-licensed chapter. So you had to grind to get a lot more cosmetics in a limited amount of time. This one is just 12 random masks.
You'd think people would've been more toxic when they had to earn more, not fewer. People might've panicked or sweated just because they were afraid that if they didn't, they wouldn't get all of them. But this? It's just 12. There's plenty of time. I just don't get it.
0 -
Its also super easy to get them as you can do it by just grabbing crowns as killer due to the requirement for survivor being harder for some reason
1 -
Yeah. I found an invitation and got tunneled out of a game. Didn't do one toxic thing to that Killer. I didn't even do non-toxic, but understandably annoying, things like flashlight save. Just pointless. I don't know what that player was thinking, but I think some people genuinely like the idea of "hurting" someone else. It's a power trip. There's some perverse joy in knowing that they denied another player something. Like, "Haha! You're not getting a mask!"
1 -
@Hoodied Just an FYI, Peanits said this in a different thread I just read:
"To clarify really quick, you do not need to escape to get a mask, you just need to survive until an exit is available. If you die heroically to save a teammate at the end of the match, you'll still get it.
The main reason why this exists is due to our learnings from past events. When we didn't require people to stay in the match, people would do their event objective and purposefully die as soon as possible (looking at you, pustula plants). Not a huge deal at first, but after a day or two of people throwing matches the game becomes really unenjoyable. So while it is unfortunate that this condition makes it a little harder, it's necessary to not destroy gameplay for the entire event."

That event he used in that excuse is from years ago meanwhile in the last two events (winter and lunar new year) for both sides as long as you sparkled and didn't DC you got the reward and there wasn't any increase in hook suicides, atleast not in my matches and I played alot during those two events. If they're actually concerned about survivors just getting themselves killed to leave the match then require BOTH sides to get bronze emblems in all 4 categories - that requires atleast trying to play the game, is an equal requirement, doesn't punish survivors for dying mid game or killers getting 0k and doesn't encourage the vicious cycle of who can end the match the fastest because survivors won't need to get to end game.
2 -
Makes sense tbh, SoloQ was a dumpster fire in previous events when they could just suicide on hook and get rewarded.
These are the best teammates I've had in a long time.
0 -
Was this a response to @bm33 or my comment where I quoted Peanits?
(PS: I'm glad you're having good teammates)
0 -
Yours.
I usually hate events. Playing killer always sucks and soloQ is just as bad when they can kill themselves. Feels like survivors play better when they're motivated to escape, or at least get to endgame.
0 -
During events, my personal preference is to either play normally or B, fairly farm. Meaning, every survivor gets hooked twice (or sacrificed if that's what they want), killer gets to kick gens, all totems get cleansed, the killer gets pallet stunned, breaks the pallets, chases survivors, etc. It's a way to just get some blood points and cool cosmetics and items. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten any of those games yet this event. But I'm glad some people, like you, have.
0 -
I don't like farming I just want people to do their objectives on both sides
0 -
I really don’t understand why the masks weren’t like in a special chest that you had to hunt down for within the map. So it felt more like a scavenger hunt, rather than a sweat fest.
0 -
To each their own.
Good luck with the rest of the event!
0 -
Awww, can you imagine the cool animation of finding it and putting it on? Not sure what they would do for Killers though. Maybe the Killers would use their breaking animation to destroy the chest.
1 -
Not sure why people overreact. Playing Killer I have got various million in Bloodpoints, purchased Trickster at 50% discount with shards and got him into level 50 unblocking Startruck in many Killers.
As for the rewards, I don´t care about skins but as Killer I got them without looking into it. Killed plenty of Survivors playing normally, some escaped, that´s fine. Most of them played with flashlights, parts, etc.
Genrush, it´s real, yet... happens outside of the event as well.

I had such a rough night as survivor yesterday that I am also jumping on this bandwagon. Will be playing as Susie with the Paint Stained Clothes (the neon cosmetic) and Blighted mask/weapon with The pride bird and flags on my hooks. I won't kill anyone before all gens are done at the least, and I will let anyone with sparkles escape since I've seen inconsistencies with masks being awarded.
2 -
I have been having a lot of fun during this event. Not sure if really so many people are having so much trouble. But who knows. I can't really complain yet though. Of course the game can be frustrating, but not more than any time outside of the event for me.

Today was the first day I actually had some good games. Of course, how this event is going is only anecdotal. Luckily you've had a mostly good experience.
