how is killer supposed to get invitation?
every game I've played during masquerade the survivors spawn right next to the invitation. How is the killer supposed to get it?

You can get it at any point in the match. If a survivor collects it, it will respawn somewhere else on the map. If nobody claims it in 2 minutes, it will despawn and respawn somewhere else again.

Are you sure? I've spent entire matches running around the map looking for it, and just given up because I've assumed a survivor already collected it.

It's hard for both sides. All you can do is look for it. Some Killers (like myself) are working with Survivors in order to collect the Masks. Killers will get the masks no matter what as long as they pick up an invitation. It's harder for Survivors because if a Survivor dies or if the Gate is opened before a Survivor picks up the invitation, it won't count as a mask.

Yes. Every time you here the bell chimes, it's moved or respawned.
It's always there, it never runs out, it only moves.

and, of course, right after asking this, I found an invitation, and then immediately found where it respawned. LOL.

Thats funny ive played 300 matches and only have 9 since you can never find them as survivor plus you have to gen rush to get them.

Yep, these things are really hard to find.
They kinda merge with the background. As i remember the crown were much easier to find.

I wanna say the crowns also made more noise?

Its really hard to find them in general. They blend in and you dont see its aura until your 2 steps away from it. Plus for some reason survivors have to get the invitation before the end game collapse starts AND escape with it for a mask, while killers just have to pick it up for a mask :/

survivors do not need to escape.

You need to make it to EGC. The games you didn't survive, you likely also didn't make it to EGC.
This means if you've got a team mate on the hook, you want to open that exit ASAP, so that hooked survivor gets their mask even if you can't rescue them, or likewise, if you go to rescue them and end up trading hooks, you still get yours.
It's allowed me on a couple of occasions, to offer myself up as a sacrifice to a killer who hasn't done so well, because I know I've already secured my mask once the gates are open.

Actaully, if you are on hook when EGC starts, it will also not count. I know "What the duck!", but thats how it works.
