Perk Overhaul Discussion (What I find troubling)

I don't normally make posts, however, I just went over all the recent perk changes and some of the perks left me a bit confuzzled.

We're Gonna Live Forever: This perk I am quite upset about. Other than the current blood point bonus for each safe unhook or protection hit - the only other thing it offers is a 100% healing bonus to any survivor in the DYING STATE. I personally don't find this all to useful as most killers don't generally slug, especially in the higher grades. Most killers generally pick up survivors immediately to hook them and add pressure to the game instead. I truly feel like no one will even care if WGLF is still IN the game after the update for it'll be just forgotten like the monkey perk Self Care.

I get it's due to the grind reduction, however, players still enjoy racking up points to level up their characters as normally a player gets on average 26k (on a survivor good match) or 32k (on a killer good match) which on a higher blood web won't even get you halfway through a blood web. It will still take quite a long time to level up a singular character unless it's a blood hunt or through the help of streamers or blood point offerings.

BBQ and Chili: Much like with WGLF I see no real reason to remove the bonus blood point. I'm, however, not too mad at this change as at LEAST you're still getting some benefit with the perk as you'll still see the locations of survivors upon hooking them. But like its survivor cover part, the bonus blood points was mainly there to either encourage and reward you for you work in hooking and tracking survivors. Some players still prefer a simple way to earn bonus blood points. BBQ and WGLF were honestly fine as they were and I personally believe they didn't need a change for it didn't really hurt anyone. They were fine as they once were.

Spine Chill: This change I found quite odd in my opinion. CURRENT Spine Chill is basically whenever a killer looks in your direction within a 36 meter range Spine chill activates letting you know the killer is nearby. It also gave a speed boost to repair and vault speeds. The NEW change, however, will now require the killer to have a "direct line of sight" on you in order for it to activate. Which in my opinion defeats the purpose of the perk as it's not giving you a real good warning. As basically once it lights up you'll already be in a chase - as the killer will already be on you if he has a direct line of sight. With this new change they'll also be removing the speed increase with vault and repair altogether.

I personally if I was reworking the perk would have just removed the speed bonus to the vault, repair, sabotage, healing, gate open, and cleansing. For that seemed a bit more fair as killers have a couple perks of their own that aid at finding nearby survivors, whereas survivors will be losing one of theirs.

Self-care: I personally don't use Self-Care. Haven't used it since 2016. I don't even see other survivors using it anymore - though I'm sure survivors at newer grades use it. I personally see Self-Care as what I call "The Monkey Perk" I already hated it before the new changes they're making as once a survivor is wounded the would become Edge Lords and heal away in the corner of the map for 17 Years while we're trying to do gens and be productive. It was just ineffective as we have survivor teammates that can heal us at the Flashes speed, and we also have items that can help heal us at a great speed especially with the aid of our current boon totems. Self-Care hasn't been worth running in years, so I'm personally not too angry with it for it won't effect most of us, however, I know it's gonna hurt a lot of our new players. (So if you're a new player reading this I simply recommend dropping the perk and bring in a med kit to heal or find a teammate to do it. It'll save you the heartache.)

Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance: This perk change isn't as angering, however, I don't believe I have much say on how troublesome this change is as I am a survivor main at heart. However it's removing a big aspect of the reason for running this perk is to aid in gen regression as well as survivor location information. As a survivor, I find it pretty easy to counter the informational part of this perk as I simply let go of the generator I'm working on when I know a survivor is about to get hooked to avoid the gen exploding and having my character give away my location by screaming. Though I still feel it's highly useful for killers to stop and locate those survivors that refuse to stop working while they run this perk. This change many survivor mains are happy about, but I can obviously see where killer mains would be upset about it. It's a good perk to aid in slowing down the game a bit. The new change will still regress the most progressed generator, but it takes away the loud explosion and survivor scream. Which it's still a great perk for killers, just minus the tracking aspect.

Again, I don't normally make posts - especially ones that are as long as this, but I just felt like I had to address this and see if anyone else felt the same as I do. A lot of the other perk changes are fine - if not great in my opinion, but these perks I've mentioned were the ones that left my brain all fuzzy. Let me know what you all think down in the comments for I'd love to hear what you guys think about this upcoming changes.

The Self-Care nerf makes CoH look more appealing.

I don't think SC needed that nerf.

We're Gonna Live Forever does get a small bump in it can provide an Soul Guard effect to whoever you pick up. May not save the perk but it's still a detail worth noting.

With how many times the Monkey Perk has been nerfed, we're basically stomping on it at this point. I don't run healing perks anymore, as I simply prefer letting my teammates heal me, but good lord we're taking a massive dump on it.

Its really sad seeing it go like this. If the stats are saying its being over-used, sure, but I don't think the devs realize how many players mis-use it.

As a killer, I've gotten so much pressure thanks to players prioritizing that self-heal over anything else.
