I really don't understand the change to iron will. If they want to reduce it's synergy with exhaustion perks then why not make it so that (as an example) it add's a multiplicative modifier to any exhaustion timers. That way it would also buff fearmonger as well rather than just gutting the perk. There's almost no reason for a survivor to take it anymore.

It might still have some use in chase, maybe low enough that the chase music drowns it out completely but minimal out of chase.

    Good.

I understand that you might feel that way, BUT IW was so hated by many killers, because it 1) took away an entire part of their repertoire of their tool kit 2) had no counter 3) destroyed several killers that depended on sound cues, singlehandedly, like spirt.

While there are killer perks that take away a survivors tools, like Bamboozle (vaulting), Hex: Crowd Control and Hex: Blood Favour (pallet drops) or Lightborn (flashlights), they all either have some counterplay or cue that they affecting you.

Well, with the exeption of Lightborn, but many don't see it as a strong choice in the first place, so thats its own thing.

oh poo. It'll still be better then stridor.

Tbh I got used to playing against 4 Iron Wills it made the mindgames harder for sure but nothing else I don't think that this Iron will nerf was a good choice.

Buffing stridor and make it meta on Spirit again would've been better imo, she's the only killer who suffer REALLY hard from Iron Will.

I am sure most killer mains got used to this perk and yes it's strong BUT not that strong.

I hope they change their minds and let Iron Will stay the same, maybe keep the exhausted effect.

I'm putting Stridor on every game now.

I really want to hear Jane's moaning from anywhere on the map <3

I cant stand IW in chase, but I actually will miss being aggressively stealthy with it

Doesn't Strider only increase the noise of survivors' breathing, and not their moans of pain?

  • DaddyMyers_Mori
    DaddyMyers_Mori Member Posts: 2,205

Problem is noise difference between survivors, some survivors just need it. Talking as Jeff main.

Exhaustion effect is more than enough nerf. If they use also that % nerf, then Iron will is useless perk.

    The exhaustion part was unnecessary

I swear if a survivor perk does anything these days people are calling for it to be nerfed.

I might try it on ace or something.

They should undo the iron will nerf and change Stridor back to how it was before, so people who hate stealthy survivors can run it to counter it.

I get a headache from hearing my survivor moan so I hope the devs realize people run it for other reasons than it being meta. I can’t imagine playing as Steve without it

You missed the point. Video games aren't supposed to make sense unless they're realistic video games.

It should have been playing just the breathing noises like when a survivor is healthy. The total silence is what most people had a grudge against.

Forum QQers that represent less than 1% of the game population are calling for it to be nerfed*

    fixed

In my opnion, it should of Been if ur exhausted no iron will OR 75% Not both and preferably the exhausted one

  • Marigoria
    Marigoria Member Posts: 6,090

1% was enough to get a perk nerfed.

tbf 0% was enough to get self care nerfed so.

  • Doziano
    Doziano Member Posts: 57

iw makes you completely silent which by itself is pretty strong... but yeah, you could just make people with iw have normal breathing sounds when injured and that would solve the problem

  • gilgamer
    gilgamer Member Posts: 2,209

I think just deactivating it while exhausted would've been more then enough of a nerf honestly

and this was my only defense against the nurse, along with Sprint Burst.

  • Gorgonia
    Gorgonia Member Posts: 1,607

For soloQ survivors without Self Care or any type of medkit, Iron Will determines your chance of living until you possibly run into another surv that's willing to heal you. Also, injured builds rely on you not being found (why would I use resilience and spine chill to boost my actions, for example, if I can be found all the time? - well, Spine Chill...ed xD)

The whole perk "rework" is already looking bad sadly I just find it fascinating how can the devs be so clueless sometimes...

And for both sides I mean not only survivor but also killer, tho survivors really got unfair nerfs.

Ruin was already a garbage 50/50 perk and remember when circle of healing got released every survivors and their mothers would know the totems spawns so your hex would literally be gone in the first 40 seconds of the match.

Iron will was a fair perk this perk allowed you to go for sneaky flashlight/pallets save while injured which is way more interactice and fun than sitting on gens the whole game,it was strong against Spirit true but then why not make Stridor counter Iron will smh ? And playing survivors like Laurie or Jeff without Iron will is just so annoying and unbearable they're so loud.

I never used spine chill so I don't really have a opinion on this nerf but I feel like it was too much it was great against stealth killers but why they didn't make it so the undetectable status effect doesn't trigger spine chill but instead they decided to nerf into the ground just because it was being used alot and who tf complains about spine chill anyways ?

Perks being used alot = OP/Broken needs to be nerfed according to BHVR.

they need to understand that's not always the case.

Used to be my favorite survivor perk but it looks pretty dead now. Good players will still hear you at 25% making it nearly useless.

  • MrCalac123
    MrCalac123 Member Posts: 1,147

    It made Survivors completely silent.

It was blatantly unfair, like a perk that would just permanently remove a Killer's red stain.

Iron Will needed to be changed, but this took it from a must-have to a never-used. When it comes to silencing characters, it's all or nothing. If there is a sound, it's going to be heard. Many killers use headsets when playing, and for good reason.

They should have made it so that Iron Will conferred 100% sound reduction under certain scenarios. Like 100% for 30s after being injured each time, or 100% for 180 seconds when injured cumulative in the trial. Even 'when not exhausted' would have been alright as a nerf on its own. 75% at all times is worthless.

It gives No Mither a reason to be taken now. youll be 100% silent that way now

Its funny u said that, cause Onryo, GF, Wraith etc have no red stain lol and none of them is unfair

  • MrCalac123

Okay, now imagine it on Killers that aren't complete and utter garbage, like Bubba for example.

You hesitated slightly? Oops chainsaw to the face, rip.

  • DY86
    DY86 Member Posts: 570

U really think Bubba is strong? Oh my god u poor thing lmao.

Wraith has one of the highest pick rates bro. Also I main GF and trust me u wouldn’t last a chase many swf dont

    MrCalac123 Member Posts: 1,147

Bubba is easily a top 10 Killer. A good Bubba will eat every pallet on the map like cake and force you into 50/50's, a good Bubba is 1000% better than any M1 Killer.

But the perk completely countered another perk so where is that fair as well....the exhaustion I agree is a head scratcher but I predicted they would lower the %

  • DY86
    DY86 Member Posts: 570

I hate to break it to u but he isnt. The devs literally posted the killers stats a while ago. Maybe in low mmrs sure. Maybe face camping a hook sure.

but in the real world he isnt nearly as good as u think he is.

  • dspaceman20
    dspaceman20 Member Posts: 4,699

They shouldn't have changed stridor to be countered by iron will. I agree that wasn't fair
