YIKES People were saying this about Ruin and then later for Undying and for how many years did it fall on deaf ears. We've seen boons come and shake up the game but it was too much for everyone and then that got axed. The devs step in and gut the majority of survivors good perks and now it's change your build! Learn how to play the game! Like... you do realize how incredible ignorant and ridiculous that sounds? Why force people to play differently? Saying that out loud sounds ridiculous. Everyone can agree on that right?
Killer gameplay and style remains largely unchanged whereas survivors....from a glance without having played yet obviously. I just can't believe there might be people who say CHANGE YOUR BUILD when people were screaming that for 4 years prior to this. Oh but now... NOW change your build right?

I'm a sneaky #########, i hide in the classroom corners when going in the rooms, usually works most of the time unless the killer expects it

If you've played killer, you wouldn't find this nerf to be unfair at all. The only thing unfair about this nerf is that some survivors volume is like twice as loud as others, they really need to normalize the volume of survivor grunts.
100% silent Iron Will only promoted breaking line of sight in chase then Shift + W any time the killer tried to mindgame. It also made survivors impossible to find in lockers even while injured if they just stayed long enough to not have blood pools. This change is needed and fair.

2 perks to get a weaker effect of iron will. I already have 2 perk slots for kindred and bond.

Do you need to kill a few perks to change the meta? It's usually a good idea to give players choices. with a DS, there is this choice, either do nothing for a minute and bait the killer, or leave to repair the generators.
A good idea with a piece of IW that turns off when tired. Here again there is a choice whether to use the accelerating perk in the build or not, or to use the perk that imposes fatigue when chasing the wounded or not. But the perk was simply made unusable at all.

Yes, the majority is not against changing the meta, but what's the point of making excesses? What's next, the same nerf of new meta skills without any clear choice? And how long will this continue?

The way some of these people are taking some of these thread topics meant for discussion about the game so personally truly blows my mind. Some of us don't like the changes but saying people are crying over this idiotic "meta shakeup" (lol) or telling people to change their perks is kind of sad honestly. Why can't killers change off regression? Why do I always encounter regression in every single game?

What change would you make to iw that discourage 60% of people of using it besides nerfing it ?
Meta is stall for so many years now. There are hundreds of perks to be used and yet people get mad over one of the most used one getting nerfed
Use other perks. Thats the whole point of this update, to make you change your builds. Just do it instead of asking for prenerf iw

Isn't that the point of trying to survive. Is ti try and escape the chase?
This perk is completely countered by a good headset since most killers use headset to hear anyway.
Even if iron will should have been nerfed there are other ways go do it with completely killing the perk. This change just killed a stealth playstyle

Why do I as a Killer, running literally no regression perks and chasing a guy for 1 minute and 20 seconds encounter TWO gens popping, then 3 more gens being 99'd, exit gates being 99'd then the guy I just hooked being unhooked by 2 guys sandbagging for him and when I STILL get him he just either uses Decisive or gets sandbagged really hard by the same 2 guys? Why does "idiotic meta shakeup" refer to disabling stupid Decisive plays where you DEAD HARD to avoid a hit, still get hit then get a free Decisive Strike to get out.
Why do I always encounter Boon: Circle of Healing in 2/3rds of my games as Killer, then two medkits and a flashlight on top of that, then a toolbox with brand new part???

Yeah if the killer downs all 4 survivors that's TOTALLY NOT AN ISSUE!
Yeah if the killer is slugging 3rd surv to find and down 4th to absolutely prevent ANY CHANCE of escaping, that's TOTALLY NOT AN ISSUE!

Protecting a hook IS camping (not face camping obviously but still camping). You're not going away to find another survivor.

Tunneling is when the killer downs a survivor that was just / previously unhooked.
It is not tunneling when the killer hooks two other survivors (without slugging) before hooking that one again.

This nerf kills part of the stealth game on the survivor. Now the wounded will not be able to chase after hiding somewhere near the killer, he will not have an early notification that the killer is heading towards him, i.e. solo survival will become even more difficult. Remind how the developers love the task like hiding 10 meters from the killer to the wounded. Good luck getting it after the patch

And how are boons a problem? You find, down and hook a survivor then repeat that 11 more times.
It could be bad only when you lose the chased injured survivor. Also them healing means not working on gens.

Here's the thing. I'm aware people will disagree. I was even looking forward to the changes. I'm more than disappointed and that's OK too. That's all fine but my issue is people replying and saying OH CHANGE YOUR BUILDS! HA NOW YOU HAVE TO! No that's not how the game worked and it's not how it's going to work going forward. Killers still have their main style unchanged and their regression perks, some of them are even better. Killers changing their perks to different regression combined with how most people approach the game will most likely change very little for killers. If it was this meta shakeup that people keep proclaiming why is gen regression still so powerful and largely unchanged? At a glance of course, I obviously haven't touched the patch yet.

Oh look, another killer main that doesn't understand simple things like not knowing where the other survivor is/might be in order to get healed / having a medkit with no more charges etc. etc. There are soooo many scenarios that make you look stupid/clueless rn.

Oh I did, I just heavily disagree. Things being meta isn't a problem, things being overpowered is the problem.
Killers got regression perks nerfed, just to get others buffed. So where is the killer "meta shakeup"? it's still going to be slowdown after slowdown + gens going from 80 seconds to 90 seconds.
Survivor meta trashed, what is the replacement? Calm spirit "buff"? Maybe the Pharmacy "buff"? Sole Survivor?

Yeah, Spirit is going to have a field day after this crap goes live, its nice to have the good ol' "I hit you, use my power, locate you by your grunts and down you without you being able to do anything about it" matches.

I've played as a killer more than enough, and iron will wasn't a problem for me. Ever. If I lose a surv then that's on me.

BT wouldn't bother you if you weren't tunneling (unless the unhooked surv is bodyblocking which won't appear often), same applies to DS.
DH is useless if you're playing right, and that only leaves the surv with one perk which is IW... that's getting DESTROYED and changes the game COMPLETELY (for the killer's HUGE advantage once again!).

I see exhaustion after exhaustion after exhaustion every game, meanwhile gen slowdowns meta perks have been trashed. What is the replacement ? Coulrophobia buff ? Monstrous shrine "buff" ?
As i said in my 1st response to you before you started all this : both killers and survivors got good and bad changes. Get on with it

They nerfed IW in the wrong way imo. They should have replaced the Grunts of Pain with normal breathing and have it deactivated when exhausted.

Boons were a major problem they made most of the Killer Roster useless because CoH was a counter to Hit and Run Killers, and if you committed to the chase you'll lose multiple Gens before the down. So yes until recently after the adjustments to CoH the game became better but the major issue with Boons is before the recent added Perk, Killers had no way to deal with them besides figuring out who the Boomer is and deal with them.

If the survivor with bt wasn't throwing themselves in between me and the unhooker then i wouldn't tunnel, since they're clearly showing their desire to go back on the hook

Ngl they overnerfed IW. It should just get nerfed to 85% pain reduction and thats it.
The part about how IW is gonna be disabled while Exhausted is pure bs.

I think we might see an uptick in Ace and Kate users as they are quieter. I personally use Iron Will on Jane and Elodie without exception because they are loud and annoying. While 75% may turn them down they'll still be much too loud. Now Spirits mains will be rampant again with gamers using $400 headsets on max volume. (sarcasm). That being said I think this nerf is completely unnecessary. Survivors are still loud just breathing, running, dropping from a fall, cleansing totems, opening chests, etc.

I think a lot of people forget that when you're HEALTHY, you make more noise then when you're INJURED with IW. When you're healthy you still breathe, and when you stop running your character is out of breath for a few seconds. When you have IW, the only noise your character makes is footsteps, that makes a lot of sense huh? Thank God they're nerfing these perks I'll gladly sacrifice ruin and pop for these things to go away :)

It needed the nerf. I would've preferred they just fix the lack of breathing noise and no-sounds when in the dying state, but I'll take this. The perk was too good in literally all situations without any effort from the survivor.
It's still going to get considerable value for the people who run it.

Great, then it's not an issue that it gets a nerf. It'll improve perk variety and it'll still have niches.
But honestly, how I'd change it is this: Remove the exhaustion downside, make it 75% when running, and 100% when walking, crouching, standing still, etc. The biggest issue with Iron Will is the stupid shift + w strat since killers who dare try to mindgame any tile ever will just get left in the dust.

Im so fu**ing confused what developers did with this abnormal update. This is literally buff buff buff and buff for any killer. Making 3 useless perks on survivor side overpowerd when they're nerfing already fu**ed up decisive strike & iron will and dead hard does nothing special for survivors.
It would be understandable If they make iron will just like 25/50/75 but, but condition that iron will gonna be disabled when you're exhausted Is tooo much just TOOOOO MUCHHH. Im not talking about dead hard, It was unfair perk i know. i like dead hard nerf its fair but for now game is so much on killer's side, If you're main killer that will be fun for you but as survivor that will be huge disconfort.
PS. Im not survivor main just like playing sometimes as survivor with iron will and dead hard i'm just worring about how much easier gameplay it will be for killers after this update and how much unfair will be for survivors. And yeah now spirit needs nerf for sure before everyone gonna play stridor spirit.
