Off The Record Bodyblocking
For solo queue, get ready for teammates to follow the killer for the entirety of the 80 seconds instead of doing gens or progressing the game in any meaningful way. Very similar to the flashlight kids who follow you and the killer for the entire chase and don't do anything of value.
For killers, get ready for someone with the perk to swoop in during your chase and body block you to force you to hit them.
This perk is going to be very obnoxious.

It's definitely going to replace BT. Why bring something to protect someone else when you can have it to protect yourself instead?
It's like the time they tried selfish care where self care slowed your healing speed for others, so if you were the one person NOT running it, you were punished for everyone else doing it. Now you have to run OTR because nobody will be protecting you with BT.

Real question: I am guessing if you get hit whilst Off The Record is activated you will need to mend. Can you still use a styptic agent even before mending?

No, you will still need to mend. Styptic is used for building those protection hits faster. Had success with MoM + Styptic combo once, but cannot remember how I did it.

It's ridiculous. You should never run BT any more, because 4 players with BT will do the exact same thing as 4 players with OTR but for 1/5th the duration.
It would be like if they went "oh yeah, Pop is now nerfed to 20% current progress. By the way Overcharge now instantly removes 100% total progression, but it's a different perk so it's fine!"

Yeah. New Off the Record eclipses BT and DS in every conceivable way. You don't create build variety by creating a new hyper-dominant meta - especially when the basekit changes don't remotely fix camping or tunneling on their own.

It ends if u do any conspicuous actions. So no. If they bodyblock u hit them.
the killers cooldown for m1s has been reduced and so has the speed boost for survivors who’ve been hit.

Doesn't matter, that bodyblock hit is all they need to derail the killers momentum. Even with the shortened cooldown and speed boost, they will most likely make it to the next pallet.

Same reason survivors bring it now, because not everyone uses DS (soon to be replaced by OTR). Or people bringing CoH, because not everyone brings items to heal up.
Besides, 5 sec endurance is nothing. Smart killers will just position themselves to bodyblock.
With gens taking longer, making the unhook successful is going to be crucial.

80 seconds is way way too long. 20/25/30 would suffice and even then the problems it has are too numerous. There's still a lot of annoying things you can do that don't count as a conspicuous action. Though is it once per trial? The original version is and 80 seconds is also the time frame of the old effect. If it's only once, then Borrowed Time still has 'some' niche because that comes with movement speed too and works every time you unhook. If not... then yeah, they really weren't even trying.

A healthier survivor doing it is riskier for them because they're going from healthy to injured. The injured guy with OTR just has to mend after its all done. They can do that with BT, but they only have 12 seconds to set up an effective body block. Someone with OTR, with EIGHTY SECONDS of protection, can set up a place where they stand in a doorway and completely block the killer.

because it isnt powerful, a hit is a hit. At the end of the bodyblock animation whoever blocked will be one hit away from the dying state. So how is that “riskier” ?
and again 80 seconds means nothing if u cant do any conspicuous actions. Its 80 secs ur not helping the team. Thats almost a whole gen. And for what? To take a hit for someone else? Thats not effective. Thats not powerful, thats bad time management

I literally already addressed that in my post. For solo queue then yeah it's going to be bad, but you can't judge a perk from that. In a coordinated team, that extra hit will be very crucial. It's riskier because going from healthy to injured is worse than going from injured to deep wounded. You just have to mend for a short time for the trade off that your teammate gets away and makes it to another loop.

Not really, its still the same ?? Even in swf, cause a coordinated team will take the extra hit endurance or not. If my bud is dead on hook and Im not, Ill even get hooked in his place, just so the pressure is minimized.
and like I said, its not worse to go from Healthy to injured than injured to deep. Cause u see, at the end of the day theyll have to heal all the same.
And ur not considering that If the healthy person is the better chaser it’ll be no problem being injured during the chase (for resilience reasons). Now, having the guy with the toolbox and the gen oriented perks being chased is a waste of time

This is the only perk that has me concerned from the list. It should become disabled during the end-game collapse like DS will be for a start otherwise it's pretty much a guaranteed escape at endgame after being unhooked. Also it should potentially only activate once per match if this is going to be what it does now.

I dont like the new off the record at all,I think its a bad and toxic perk for the game that renders ds useless.
Why use ds when you can use off the record that's better and lasts longer?

Not really. Its been divided opinions so far. Besides its not even out yet and ur all rilled up.

This is the weirdest attempt at an argument I've ever seen LOL, it's literally the same as a healthy survivor body blocking and the risk is either the same or greater. If you take a hit while injured, you have to mend AND HEAL. If you take a hit while healthy, you just have to heal. Unless they both plan on staying injured, which means your point makes even LESS sense, because a healthy person going to injured just means they're injured now, while a injured person taking an endurance hit means they HAVE to spend that time mending. Also, an OTR body block IS riskier because if the killer chooses to switch off onto them, they've already been hooked at least once, maybe twice, and now they're running with their screen crapped up from the endurance bleedout effect, whereas a healthy body block is simply running while injured, with possibly no hooks taken.
The only argument I can see for this is that it's annoying to hit someone thinking you have a down on them, but then you don't, but as a killer it's part of your responsibility as a player to keep track of who you just hooked and keep in mind that they most likely have the perk.
Personally, I'm not worried about OTR because I'm sure hitting them off hook with BT will count as the OTR hit (I'd be very surprised if it doesn't, unless it's coded differently and perhaps similar to a MoM hit) so I figure that will be the counterplay for killers who are mad about it.

Especially considering that you can have OTR and get healed (by another survivor) without losing it - so full-health with Endurance for 80 seconds.

There is no such a thing. Going into the “deep wound” status effect automatically puts u in the injured state. So using otr while healthy is pointless pretty much

People have complained about bodyblocking with endurance for ages, just make survivors who have endurance and are injured not have collision with the killer and maybe on the side give a change to mettle of man that allows your endurance effects to retain the old behavior so if you want body block using endurance you gotta run mettle of man.

That is a good idea actually. It would give value to MoM and resolve the whining about body blocking
