Whoever thought of the DS stun nerf clearly didn't work for BHVR back in 2020.
Back in Sept. 2020 DS was bugged where the stun was significantly shorter. Needless to say, it was a tunnel fest.
I welcome the devs trying to reduce camping and tunneling. Unfortunately this ain't the way to do it.

Honestly the only nerf DS needed, which was even debated if necessary, was that it shouldn't work in endgame or deactivate opening the exit gate (either or not necessarily both). The stun duration nerf was 100% uncalled for.

The Feng could have last longer using the trees. She was still able to reset the chase, she made mistakes and paid the price.

I agree. After all, pallets are made of wood. So, no need to use the second-hand stuff when you can get the real thing.

It's not really fair to compare it to when survivors still used DS offensively and tried t-bagging at the gates not knowing they'd be hit sooner.

I was talking about dodging the huntress hatchet. You have an audio cue when she is aiming and she still managed to get hit with so many covers.

Yeah when I first read the post I was confused and instantly remembered this bug.
These changes will just make tunneling and camping easier and more rewarding

I really don't know what are they thinking lol. End game DS was lose/lose for killers. But stun time was never problem.
Buff killers to play for hooks, do not buff their tunnel potential. This DS stun time nerf is great buff for tunnelling. There is 0 reason to not risk it now.

Yeah that's my feeling, DS is basically pointless if the stun stays so small. While off the record will get a nerf I feel thatd be better combo with DS but this is the issue I have with the changes as it fixed none of the base game issues.
Trust BHVR to highlight game issues to just 180 in the other direction lol

I thought DS was buffed to 5 seconds back then because Enduring cut the time of the DS stun and Enduring did not have a 50% decreased stun time.
However, with all the variety in killers we have today, 3 seconds does seem too small. Especially when a survivor technically cannot move for the first second of the stun. What stops a ranged killer from being able to down you easily at range after those 3 seconds, or a Nurse barely being affected by that time. They have already removed the ability from activating in the end-game so why not at least keep its usefulness for the other part of the game?

I don't get why they nerfed it twice
Disabled by touching gates/disabled when 5 gens done = 100% fair
3 second stun though. Nurse, Blight, Spirit, Huntress and many others can likely down you before you get anywhere - making it a dead perk.
2 -
Now increase that stun duration by 2 seconds and then get back to me.
1 -
DS being disabled in Endgame is a good, healthy change. The stun nerf though was uncalled for.

You guys got BT base kit and a perk reworked into a better version of DS....
What is there to complain about?

DS was changed from 3s to 5s because Enduring was seen as problematic in decreasing the stun time.
After that effect was removed from Enduring, DS remained at 5s.
It will finally return to 3s.

The only thing this does is pave the way for more outcries of other perks being disabled in the EGC.
Apparently they have changed their stance on the EGC benefitting neither side, that is not healthy at all.

Ohhhh I remember this bug
You could have someone wiggle out and the stun timer was instant

Personally I would prefer that the meta perks being nerfed don't become useless perks. Since if we want variety, meta perks need to be weaker (but still useful) and non meta perks need to be stronger. And some aspects of the changes don't really do that.
1 -
In order to force a meta to change the current meta needs to be made weaker than or at least equal other options. Raising other perks to the level of meta is how you get power creep so the best option is to weaken the current meta perks so that also means nerfing them to be at least equal to the others.
And with how much stronger the current meta is over other options, it needs one hell of a nerf to be equal.

There are a lot of non meta perks in this game that without any changes would never see play, because they are awful. There are some decent options that currently exist, but you can't create variety without buffing a lot of the weaker perks in the game.
The weird part honestly is there were a lot of perks that could have used buffs more so than the perks bhvr picked.

Agreed. It's also safe to assume that these changes should be happening from time to time. Say with every new chapter you'd also have a number of older perks touched on to keep the game's meta from becoming locked in.
Just not once every 2-5 years. The longer you let meta stay, the harder it becomes to shake up to the point of the player base never learning how to play the without meta. Once that happens then the devs will be too afraid to make changes in an ever growing cycle of staleness. Or they are simply afraid of the backlash of their own player base for "ruining their game".

We either have to accept things like this so chase times are cut down or you're going to have to deal with things like increased killer speeds or increased gen times (even more).

I was prepared to make an lmao funny response until I realised that wasn't two seconds.

Killers already wait out the entirety of 60 seconds of DS just to tunnel, do you think 5 seconds basekit BT is going to deter someone that wants to tunnel? lol.

It's about buying time... ya know... "BORROWED TIME", you have time to now get to a loop or get to a safer area.
Literally a meta perk being given to you base kit. That is absolutely a big thing.

this is no valid reason for next patch, since dc still will deactivated when EGC and gate open.. thank you

Here's my input/opinion before I even test it out on the ptb, this is coming from someone who loves playing killer and sometimes plays survivor
This perk should stun the killer for 3 seconds, however it should disable the use of the killers power for an amount of time after getting stunned (5 seconds after stun maybe?). That way a nurse can't omegablink after those 3 seconds, or a blight can't immediately rush you down. It would mainly target killers with mobility built into their kits.
We've seen this done with Trickster when he ends his main event (currently the cooldown is low, but my point stands). And we've even had old legion where he lost his power gauge when hitting a survivor, so nothings really stopping BHVR from testing this out.

"finally" as if those 2s hurt you or made a difference for you hah

Huh? do you think 5 seconds magically stops killers from tunneling?
this game is always a tunnel fest, ALWAYS!

exactly...after years of not doing anything really game-changing about perks.. why now? it's not like the game is going to be here for another 10 years and it's really passed its peak... let people play the way they want to play until this dies, no need to tell people "hey, here, we fcked you up, please keep playing our game, it's cool"
