Its time to camp the survivors out of the game

What is there to see? It's literally what the devs said. There is no doubt that killers are gonna have an easier time now.

New Corrupt and Ruin should probably be baked-in mechanics. Killers are at their absolute weakest at the start of the game, so any role boosts should go towards that phase. As killers do better, losing those benefits gives survivors more of a fighting chance.

If they punish killers can we really call them perks anymore ;)
0 -
Bro this patch is a buff to tunnelling & camping in general
90 second gens when Deadlock is still a thing
DS only being 3 seconds now and deactivates during endgame (endgame part is fine imo)
3 -
My question is... why is someone required to justify the way they play? Also yeah m1 killers in current meta is definitely super weak. Even clown does barely anything against perks and maps.
0 -
Honestly I wouldn't call Otr a mistake. If you don't tunnel it won't effect you. The only part I think needs changed is it still being active during end game.
1 -
Deadlock is a weak perk. It’s mind blowing you think that good killers play this. There are so many better options.
Any decent survivor will start repairing another gen. Blocked gens don’t regress.
0 -
M1 killers don't have to camp always unless they are very bad at chases but if you are decent at chases you can adapt your playstyle in situations and pick the right chases and camp at right times. Important is to get one out pretty quickly not neccessary tunnel but target one survivor more than others.
1 -
Deadlock is a very strong game delay perk. And it requires exactly zero input from the killer. Even if the gen doesn’t regress, the survivor might as well wait it out (depending on how far the next available gen is, the blocked gen will already be available again by the time they get to another gen to work on with less progress).
1 -
It’s useless against SWF. Outside a camping Bubba build (rancor, noed, deadlock…ect) , I would never use it. Gens are not that far from each other. It was good when it came out but got replaced by DMS as soon as it got buffed.

It just means that you have to play a lot to get good at killer. Killer with 300 hours is not most lilely going to beat 5K hour survivors.
1 -
Killer actions that produce the most points are not aligned with your defend the hook plan besides making the game miserable because you cannot bother to use your brain more during matches. Wraith or Bubba is probably your best bet for this low skill low score playstyle.
If blood points are not your motivation then you probably enjoy taking the wings and legs off of insects too.

First of all, you're putting words in my mouth - I never said deadlock was a 'strong' perk (Even tho it kinda is but whatever), I meant to say Deadlock is a good perk for camping killers.
Deadlock isn't a super strong perk if you're playing killer the usual way, sure - it's still crazy good though.
But if you're straight up camping it basically pressures other survivors for free and almost ensures if you camp someone out, gens can't get done.
1 -
Sure it’s good for camping, especially face camping with a Bubba.

Not a single base kit buff was : -25% reduction in generator completion times by survivors. Pop wasn't given base kit. BT was however given base kit as survivors.
Did all maps get reduced to 9000m²? They did not so that means most of the maps favor survivors.
Since gen slowdown perks got crippled it will become more important to tunnel.
Did survivior collision width get made equal to killers? No - so chases will still be very long vs high MMR players.

With the new update more people are gonna do deadlock camping I'm 100% sure of it
90s gens with an extra 30 added each time a gen is done, pair that with new thana (Which will add an extra 5.5% to each gen since the hooked survivor counts) gens will take forever and the killer won't be punished for their playstyle
4 -
You good? No you're not and it okay.
1 -
As far as I know, everyone is at least a little bit noob when they start playing any game,
but if you have 500 hours you should be at least slightly improving if you actually are trying to improve,
I could expect some of these people that whine about having to camp could have over 1000 hours in the game,
what do you say than? That you need like 2000 hours to be good?
Or that some people just need more time? Nah they are bad, end of story, they try the easier option which is to complain to make the game easier for them...
0 -
Oh ffs here we go again.
1 -
Killers that are not Nurse/Blight really cant pressure across map. Large maps = camp. Survivors need to be pressured to come rescue or you lose.
What dbd need is a basekit perk for killer - While a survivor is on a hook all gens are 10% slower and one generator is blocked - if the killer is not within 16m of the hook.
0 -
Should be interesting to see what the ratio looks like after this update.
You may be camping bots in the near future.
Sounds fun, right?
1 -
That's actually a critical difference between OTR and DS: OTR -will- affect you if you're not tunnelling. You can't bodyblock safely with DS, but you -can- with OTR. But the fact that OTR works during end-game when it's only just been fixed on DS does show that the devs just completely blanked out while designing the OTR rework. It is absolutely, 100% a mistake.

When Pain Resonance no longer synergize with Dead Mans Switch, I am thinking about new ways for using Dead Mans Switch.
Well, with Freddy the Fake-Teleports still work, but what combo would u run for DMS? I dont think there is any and maybe DMS needs to be replacef by Opression/Overcharge whatever.
0 -
I personally prefer Ohtofu's idea for it and BT where the effected survivor has no collision with the killer. Then they can't body block with it. As that would be an entirely new mechanic I'd settle for the deactivate at egc.

You have to be trolling. Let me put it this way: If Otz went up against people at his level, do you really think he would 4k with Trapper? There are bad killers. There's no way around it. There are multiple tier lists saying Trapper is a bad killer. Don't believe me? Here's your boy literally D-listing Trapper. End of story.
0 -
Oh so just because a Trapper is D tier it automaticaly means it is virtually impossible to get 4k,
no way in life and death will he ever be able to get 4k,
4k with trapper is so hard you are lucky to get one....
Yeah right.

Basement-Trapper is the way for an 4k.

I'm guessing you're not aware that survivors are by far the huge majroity of the active player base? People looked into who was in the que for 24 hour periods. There are regular times where there are 4000 survivors in queue and only 30 killers.
0 -
'If Otz went up against people at his level'?
How does that work? Does he get matched down? But if he can't get kills at his own level, wouldn't his level decrease anyway?
1 -
Of course Survivors are a huge majority of the active player base.
You need four Survivors for every one Killer, how hard is that to comprehend?
I'm guessing you missed the full graph where it showed Killers outnumbering Survivors depending on the time day.
Pretty easy to find something to fit your narrative if you don't want to look at anything else.

I do think that OP is being a bit dramatic, but he has a couple of points. About the buffs/nerfs, not the facecamping.
I think I got more out of a Ruin/Undying combo or even just Pop on its own than an extra ten seconds per gen. That, like the 10% boost to a couple of killer actions, is pretty underwhelming.
OTR on its own could cause kill rates to plummet even if we got an extra 20 seconds on every gen and a 20% increase to those killer actions. I get that people don't like getting tunneled, but it's one of the most reliable ways to win if you're up against a good team (unlike facecamping, which is never a good strategy), and this will eliminate it as a strategy almost entirely. I don't know why they would claim to have a problem with Dead Hard's 75% pick rate and then introduce a perk that's bound to be just as popular.
BT was buffed (although no one is going to run it now that OTR is a thing), and Dead Hard is more manageable, but it's still an on-demand invincibility perk that gives a speed boost when used successfully. And I still see CoH multiple times every game, because it was never actually functionally nerfed (nobody uses Shattered Hope because it doesn't actually do much against boon totems and is a waste of a perk slot).
Kill rates will probably go down slightly unless they nerf OTR into the ground, at the very least.
My guess is that they'll see that in the PTB, "nerf" OTR from 80 to 60 seconds or something and call it good, and then gradually roll out more balancing changes over the course of the next year once they see the numbers, but always play it extremely safe.
We'll see. I do hope I'm wrong.
If you're up against a 4-man SWF, sometimes those are way too altrustic for their own good, but facecamping as the OP describes is still very bad. A team that's actually good will do gens while Dwight has a staring contest with Bubba through both hook stages, and four gens will be done by the time Dwight's dead.
So-called proxy camping works well sometimes in combination with tunneling. Hook someone, go chase someone for a second or kick a gen, and swing back around just as survivor is getting unhooked.
Facecamping punishes itself. If OP thinks he's going to average more than 1.5K a game with that as his main strategy, he's about to be even madder than he already is.
I get a lot out of Forced Penance as it is. Survivors don't ever seem to expect it.
When I first started playing the game, as survivor, I'd always feel relieved when I saw a Nurse.
"Oh, good, it's Nurse. We're in for a relaxing game."
Strongly disagree. It's a great choice when you only have a single perk slot for slowdown and need it to be passive, and it does awesome things against genrush teams that spread out and work on four different generators at the beginning of the match. Deadlock/Merciless rivals the Ruin/Undying combo because it's more reliable and can't be turned off.
There are better options if you're willing to run around the map kicking gens instead of engaging in chase (or if your killer can teleport), but Deadlock has its uses.
Yeah, but they said their goal is to increase kill rates, and getting rid of tunneling is an awesome way to do the exact opposite. Not all of us play Blight or Nurse every game.

I proved that Trapper is a weak killer. You refuse to akncowledge that evidence, so you're just trolling. Btfo and gtfo.

Someone has to post it...
1 -
I didn't read op's post but based only on the title: to be honest I was kind of thinking of doing it myself, just to prove how the changes did nothing against these play styles, as they were promoted, but actually made them even easier to achieve.
I know it will probably ruin tons of games for the survivors I'll go against, but it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make to prove my point
0 -
Will probably try camping and holding W on the ptb, unfun but necessary
1 -
🙄😮💨
OP...
Do you just want survivors to stand around waiting to be sacrificed? You just want to win every game easily? It's a competition. If you want to win, work for it. If BHVR makes changes, then you do the same. Adapt.
0 -
you didn't prove anything
0 -
I can't follow the logic of "increasing Gen times + lowering survivors' post hit speed boost + giving killers 2 stacks of STBFL and tier 1 Brutal Strength as basekit = killers will become more weaker than they already are"
Is this bait?
3 -
I'm of course very happy about the general killer buffs but it's weird they've not really done much to combat tunnelling and camping, killers are still going to heavily do both, it's just gonna be harder for survivors to punish it now.
2 -
Yeah, and regardless of the state of the trial. Campers are out and about even with all seven generators at zero progress.
2 -
Show me where you are getting this information.

90% of my matches are: 1. killer camps hook, 2. killer doesn't camp hook but survivor drags him back in chase to unhook in his face, or 3. killer doesn't camp but survivors leave me to die on first hook with 0 gens done, anyway. Hooking is an absolutely terrible mechanic, it's not fun to do as killer and it's not fun to be hooked as survivor. Being at the mercy of teammates who are either inept or don't care sucks. They should get 0 BP if it's not a safe unhook.
I'm tired of being tunneled at zero gens done. Tired of being punished for my teammates' mistakes when I don't get to choose my teammates. The ironic thing is the survivor who farmed me still gets BP and while I, the one who's being punished, loses out on BP and getting to play and everything else. What sense does that make? From the killer's perspective, this is a team game; from survivors' perspective, it's not. The devs need to choose which one it is and make DbD work as such. Solo queue is an absolute misery because terrible teammates are basically rewarded for being terrible so why would they ever change their ways?

Killers always get the worst as usual, gladly some nerfs to survivor mains but unfortunately not enough, since survivor gameplay will still be braindead full of crutch, pyramid and lots of killers need a overall buff and QoL
