What does Deathslinger need?
He can't stay as is.
I find a pair of survivors on a gen, get the snipe drop from a good range, barely pull Haddie in past the Bill who tried to bodyblock for her, and got a swing and hit.
Nice!
She ran me for 4 gens. The last gen finished as I picked her up to hook her. At that point, I just dropped her, opened the gate, and stuck my nose in a corner.
(BBQ, No Way Out, Nemesis, Rancor. No addons. Flan. Ironworks of Misery.)

His move speed is too punishing; especially for his terror radius.
Same with aim speed. Projectile time. Reel speed / chain strength. Time window for survivors to react. Missed cooldown. Reload time.
All of it, combined, makes him feel bad and slow.

"You committed to chase for 4 gens? That's on you..."
I'm supposed to let them go and start over from scratch?
Haddie barely used 2 pallets. Hold W, windows, and line of sight blockers were enough.
Switching targets does not resolve the bigger issue with him.

He needs a lasso.
Maurice as a mount.
And finally, a bazooka.

Much quicker reloads, instant reload on hook, 24 meter terror radius, quicker recovery from broken chains, faster during ADS.. honestly, Deathslinger spends so much of the match reloading. Huntress takes like, what, 4 seconds to reload 5 hatchets that instantly damage? Deathslinger takes 2.75 to reload one shot that still needs to be reeled in?
I don't really have a problem with the ADS, though.

And date, this guy needs a break tho.

His ADS got the Pyramid Head Nerf so he couldn't just "quick scope" survivors. What puzzles me is they increased his TR when he has a very short "mid" range attack....his lower TR went with his background as a bounty hunter.

I know why they nerfed his ADS. I don't know why they nerfed his TR, though.
..well, I do know why. M&A. But he's not invisible, you can still see him. And if you get shot from 18 meters.. well, you got shot from 18 meters.

Right he needed that small TR especially now with the ADS he needs to get close to even make a hit...the times I faced a Slinger he only got 1 surprised shot on me because I thought he was a Doc and I was on top of the Saloon doing a Gen....

24 meter TR, better addons, less punishing cooldowns and quicker reload.

A bigger gun.

Depends how far they want to take it tbh, I'd like his quick scoping or smaller terror radius back doesnt matter which but that's the bare minimum.
They could then mess around making his purple addon for stronger chains base, gets a faster reload on a successful pull and hit.

Let him swing of walls like Spider-Man.

Apparently that isn't far off for what was originally intended for him. In his original design proposal, he'd pull himself across the map with his chain.

The only thing I don’t like about Deathslinger at the moment is his turn rate while aiming just feels exceedingly slow. He’s the only ranged attacker in the game that doesn’t swivel at normal speed while aiming. Just take off the slower turning and he’d feel less like he’s moving through molasses while aiming.

Interesting.
I’m glad they decided to go with the current “Get over here!” version but that would be cool to see.

Actually, I THINK the intention was for him to have both mechanics. He ended up with only one, likely due to complications with collisions and such.

I would say:
- Slightly faster ads but not instant
- Faster ads movement speed
- Faster reeling speed
- Slightly faster reload speed
- 24m lullaby
- Hitting a survivor body blocking the person you were reeling should still apply deep wound do the hit person
- Add-on overhaul
- I forgot who mentioned this before but it was an interesting idea that stuck with me: have bounty flyers of the survivors in the match be around the map and if the Deathslinger collects one, the aura of that survivor will be revealed for a few seconds
I don't think he needs a rework or anything, just some buffs to help him out.

24m lullaby/terror radius and add-on changes. that's all

He should be how he was, there was no need for nerf just because monitor was good on him, salty survivor mains acted as if he were nurse

He needs the 24m TR back (either that or increase the range of his gun - a 32m TR doesn't make sense for the range he can attack you at), faster ADS, and a faster turn rate while aiming.

He needs quickscope back

What he really needs is an admission from the devs that they ######### up.

He's not in that bad of a spot strength wise, so most of what he needs is QoL-- I'd say the biggest ones would be reverting his terror radius but replacing the difference with a lullaby of sound kind (probably one of the quieter ones, more like Sadako's than Huntress's), and upping how fast he can turn his camera while ADSed because my god does that feel awful right now.
I'm on board with faster reloading, too. That'd be a nice QoL.

Reduce his reload time from 3 seconds to 2.5 seconds.
Make his TR 24 metres and give him a 24 metre lullaby. That way with M&A, he'll have a 16 metre TR but still a lullaby which goes up until 24 metres and won't affect people who don't use stealth Perks.
Maybe on top, make his missed cooldown shorter when missing a shot. It is way to punishing to miss for being way to unrewarding for actually hitting.

Deathslinger doesn't need a lullaby. The only thing he has going for him is the ability to take advantage of Oblivious and Undetectable status effects. In fact his TR never needed the increase and the synergy with M&A was never that strong to begin with. It was only 2m range at his max range he could theorically hit you at that you couldn't hear him and those shots are the hardest to successful reel in.
Deathslinger needs LoS to land hits so survivors can still see him aiming at him, especially now that he can't quickscope meaning survivors can hear the ringing when he's aiming at them. So you do not need to compensate his lower TR with a lullaby.

He just needs slightly faster reload. -0.5s would be really nice.

Should've added "in my opinion" I guess.
Well, in my opinion those things would make him better. A 16 m TR Slinger was a chore to play against. He is a hunter and not supposed to be a stealth Killer that much.
But 32 m TR is far to much, since he is 4.4 with no ability to catch up. 24 is a sweet spot.
